Keith yawned loudly as he walked into the gym, stretching his arms wide he shook his head from left to right; attempting to wake up. He had only woken up about an hour ago, and just threw on a old t-shirt along with ripped up jeans and his favorite cowboy boots. Most people would laugh at the fact he liked to wear country things in a state that was more into the city, but it didn't really matter to him. Keith liked to stick to his family roots, and no one would ever change that.
Making his way over to the bleachers with his guitar slung haphazardly over his back, Keith went all the way to the top so he wouldn't bother anyone. Sitting down with a small -clunk-, Keith swung his guitar around so it was infront of him and began to tune it. It was old, but if he tried he could make it sound wonderful.

Delaney straightened out her frilly, grey skirt as she walked casually into the gym. She looked around and only saw a few people so she settled into a corner with her book, Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk ((ooc; AMAZING BOOK. I def. reccomend reading it :] )) She opened it up to where the bookmarker was and began reading. Almost immeaditly her long, blonde hair fell into her face and obscured her vision and she had to put the book over her leg to hold the place while she put her hair back up. She pulled at her aqua green sweater, which was over top of a white shirt wit illustrations of Paris, France all over it. She started to read again and became very engrossed in her book, in fact too distracted to even realize that someone had walked into the gym after her.

At first, Keith didn't even notice Delaney. He just continued to mess with his guitar, until he deemed it worthy of some notes. He paused only for a second to think of some song he knew, finally coming up with one; he quietly began to play the guitar in his hands the notes coming out smoothly and almost silently. The song was by Keith Urban, one of Keith's favorite country artists. He especially liked the guy just because they shared the same name. A few minutes seemed to pass by as Keith strummed on his guitar, that was when he looked up and spotted Delaney... purely surprised he stared at her not knowing what else to do. Instead of getting up and going over to talk to her, Keith sat still right where he was and continued to play on his guitar all the while still staring at her. He didn't want to interrupt her reading, it would be rude.[ooc; It's the last song on here that he's playing. xD Just the guitar, nothing else: profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=50925829 ]

As soon as Delaney heard the guitar she paused reading for a second. If there was one thing she loved it was the sound of a soft, acoustic song; the only ting missing was someone's voice. She put the bookmark into her book, closed it, and set it ever so quietly onto the ground as the soung ended. Then she made sure there was no one else but her and the guitarist in the gym, which there no longer was. She stood up in the middle of te gym floor and clapped, because she believed that all preformers deserve applause.

Keith blinked a few times, looking a little bemused as Delaney clapped. He then looked around, noticing that no one else seemed to be in the large room. Standing up, Keith pushed his guitar around so that it was on his back and bowed gallantly... a small smile playing at his lips. "Thank you, thank you," he said loudly as if he had just played for a crowd. Keith then stood up straight and stepped quickly down the bleachers to where Delaney was, finally when he stood right infront of her Keith stuck his hand out for her to shake. "Darlin', I don't believe we've met," Keith began, unable to tame his Southern accent "My name is Keith."

Delaney giggled as the boy bowed and thanked her. He really was good, and she knew how it felt not to be clapped for so she could understand it. She put her hand in his and shook it, trying to be personable and friendly. "I'm Delaney, and I don't think we have." She leg his hand go and put hers in her sweater's pocket. She smiled.

Just before she let go, Keith quickly brought her hand up to his lips kissing her knuckles lightly. The action wasn't implusive, he thought it was being polite to an attractive girl so that's why he did it. "That's a nice name," Keith said with a small smile, taking in her apperance from head to toe. She seemed younger then him, but if they were in the same school together he seriously doubted she was that much younger.

Delaney blushed as he kissed her hand. She hoped she wasn't leading him on or anything, because if he liked her that wouldn't be fair. There was an awkward silence but she broke it, courageously for her espically. "So what year are you in?"

"I'm a senior," he said casually, nicely. It didn't occur to Keith to think about whether or not she was with someone, and or if she liked someone else. The only thing on his mind really was how cute she was, if that counted for anything. He glanced toward the door, noticing some people walking in talking amongst themselves. His attention then went back to Delaney, his misty green eyes fixed on her face.

Her face dropped a little. "Oh, I'm just a freshman. I guess I'll leave you alone, sorry I bothered you." Delaney had always tried to steer clear of upperclassmen. She began to walk toward where she left her bag and book, thinking the fact of how young she was would make him want to have nothing to do with her.

Keith blinked looking a little astonished, staring at Delaney's back for a moment before he rushed after her and grabbed her arm gently so she wouldn't run away. "What does that have to do with anything?" he asked her looking a little exasperated, she was a freshman... so what? She was still pretty, and he was sure she was just as normal as anyone else here... that is if anyone was normal. "I still want to talk to you," he then said as his forehead wrinkled with confusion.

"You do?" Delaney asked, more astonished that he had even been. This was the first time that a senior, who wasn't intoxicated, thought she wasn't annoying. She turned around to face him and smiled a little bit. "What do you want to talk about?" He may have been the nicest person she had met all quarter. What's his motive... Everyone has a motive.

Keith slowly let go of her arm, and let his hand drop to his side. His smile was slow and uncertain, "What are your hobbies? What do you like? What do you not like?" he began, stuffing his hands in his pockets and unconcsciously leaning toward her. "Do you have any siblings? Where did you grow up?" he asked and then added a small question in at the end "Do you have a boyfriend?" he looked at Delaney not sure what to do now. The situation seemed to silly to him, and what was even funnier was that he was nervous as hell. Amazingly though, Keith did quite a job of hiding that fact.

"I'm madly into theatre, you know, acting singing, dancing. I love Ballet. I like summer, crashing rick kids' parties, going in hotel pools, going on private beaches, and getting in trouble with my friends. I have my mom and dad and my best friend, shes like my sister. I grew up in a tiny town in Canada, then I moved to Venice Beach, California." The last question made her a little nervous. He did like her. she was going to feel so bad after this.... She swollowed hard. "No, and I'm not generally looking. I'm still on the mend from a relationship gone sour, I'm really not ready to get back into it yet...." Lie.

He listened intently all the way to the end, and then she delivered the blow. Keith took a deep breath then managed to smile and shrug, "It's okay, darlin'," he said casually "After all it was just a question," his smile grew almost as if he was trying to calm her without really doing anything. "What was it like in Canada?" he asked her, unable to tear his eyes away from her face. Rejection wasn't easy, but Keith had his ways of dealing with it.
