Alex watched her, he couldn't help but feel slightly strange, maybe it was because this was a different experience for him.
He was never usually, well for him this 'shy'.
He noticed Dakota looking away, and put his hand on her shoulder, "Hey??" He said quietly, "You okay...?" He asked quietly, "Do you want to go back to your dorm or something?" He added.

She sighed and looked up at him and said "No. It's just.. I don't know.. you've just been acting different, like ever since we came here from the beach."

Alex looked at her, pushing himself not to look away.
"I know" He muttered, mainly to himself. "I don't know what's wrong with me..." He said slowly, he was acting a little different.
He thought over and over in his head what he wanted to say to Dakota, he had liked her for ages now, they flirted together all the time.
And until now thats all it ever seemed to be. Just a game.
He felt like a complete idiot, and he had no idea if she felt the same way.
"This is going to sound... stupid.. cheesy even" He said adding a smile, "I was just thinking..." He continued, "That I actually really like you" He finished, knowing that as soon as he had said it, he looked a fool.
But too him, it meant something, most girls to him were just a one night stand, that turned into maybe a weeks relationship.
He shrugged and looked down, waiting impatiently for her reply.
ooc; i dont even know if what i just typed made any sense whatsoever... i also didn't know which direction to take with this, i mean i didn't know whether alex would like her or not...
ha im not making sense, i cant even type... woot spell check

a tear slid down Dakota's cheek and said "I really like you too. I know how you feel. I don't do the whole.. actually liking guys. I just kinda go through them like.. I don't know.. but when I see you or talk to you I feel.. I don't know. It's weird." She looked down at the bed and sighed.

"It's not like us eh?" He said, giving a small laugh, moving himself so he was sitting next to her properly.
He pushed her hair behind her shoulder, "Look.. we don't have too.." He stopped, thinking what he was saying sounded a little wrong. Alex wiped the tear from her cheek, "Why are you crying?"

"Not at all. " She said, laughing a little.
"Don't have to what?" Dakota asked, quite confused.
"I'm scared. I've never liked anyone like this. And it scares me that you could actually hurt me." She said, still not meeting his gaze.

Alex looked down, it was true what she said, he could easily hurt her if anything between them got any further.
He was no good with relationships, he really wished he was.
He looked up, "I would never hurt you.." He said quietly, convincing himself, that he wouldn't.

"You would though. I know your reputation." dakota started to cry a little harder then said "Alex, I really really like you. But it just seems like you don't really like me. I know you say you do, but there's something inside me saying there's a big chance you would cheat on me, or break up with me for someone else." she turned herself away from him. She couldn't let herself get close to him anymore than she already was.

"I know my reputation is bad. I am a jerk" He said plainly, putting his hand on hers, hoping she wouldn't pull away.
"The thing is I really like you too, this has never happened to me before, you're the first girl I can properly talk to at the same time" He explained.
He felt a little hurt that she felt that way, and thought he would do that, but he knew he was capable.
"I want us too work" He then said clearly, a thing he would never of thought of saying to a girl. Just a girl.

she pulled her hands back slightly, but decided against it, leaving her hands where they were.
Dakota sighed and turned back to him.
"I want us to work too.. but we'll both have to work really hard at it." Dakota finally looked directly into his eyes, her eyes still a little wet from crying a few minutes ago.

Alex shook his head, "No I am" He muttered quietly. "But I'll stop"
He watched her flinch slightly when he touched her hand, "I'll do whatever it takes" he said finally, his mind set on actually doing the right thing for once.
Hesitating for a few seconds, he moved forward, and wrapped his arms around Dakota.

"I will too." she said. It was more of a promise, really.
She was suprised when he wrapped his arms around her, but she wrapped her arms around him tightly.

Alex straight lips turned into a smile.
"God girl" He laughed, "Your turning me from Captain Hook into some Prince Charming" He said with a smile.
He promised himself deep down, that he wouldn't mess this up. Not this time. "Guess you'll have to teach me to dance someday" He said cheekily.
