There is a thin line between, what is good and what is evil, I would tiptoe down that line, but I would feel unstable. My life is a circus, and I am tripping down the tightrope, Well, there is nothing to save me now, I’m falling to the ground. Falling to the ground. Down to the ground
Danni put his phone away, and smiled to himself. At least he had one friend in his year. Everyone else hated his guts, or he hated them, and his room mate was a jerk. He picked up his guitar again, and strummed a song about rain he’d liked not that long ago. He got rid of it for some reason, and couldn’t remember what it was called. He liked the sound of it, and hummed along. He stopped immediately, and cursed himself for his terrible singing. He’d always dreamed of becoming a rock-star, till he realised he couldn’t sing at all. Danni wasn’t sure what his future held now. Maybe he’d go back to England and work in Mac Donald’s or something, or get a job in a music store. He even fancied the idea of working in Hot Topic, you got a discount on the clothes so that was a plus. He snorted, and tried to make up a new tune whist he waited for Astoria to arrive.

Astoria neatly shuffled her random sheets of music into a neat pile on her desk beside her silver laptop. Placing the mouse on top of them so they wouldn't get blown of by the wind coming through the window.
She picked up her keys, and her phone and headed out of the dormitory. After climbing a few staircase blocks, she entered the boy's dormitories and began looking for Danni's room. If only she could remember the number. Taking a wild guess, she knocked on 'Room 3', she could hear a guitar so she thought she was right.

Danni cursed as he played the chord about two strings too far over, and then paused. He smiled at the knock on the door, and put his guitar down, getting up and going to let whoever it was in. Hopefully it was Astoria; if it was Chris…well…He might have to just shut the door on his face. “Hey Astoria,” he smiled, glad it had been the better of the two options. He lent a hand on the door frame, and the other was still on the door handle. His silver-black eyes fixed on her face for a moment, before moving down in a polite manner and then he blinked hard. “Uh…come in, make yourself at home. Wipe your muddy shoes on Chris’ bed,” he smirked in a playful manner at his last suggestion, going back into the room, and turning to face her again. He felt a little awkward, and folded his arms against his stomach to comfort himself. Danni felt his ears grow hot in embarrassment, and he turned back to his guitar, taking a long time to lift it up and find the pick he’d carelessly tossed aside somewhere. He tipped his head too far forward, so that his dark chestnut hair fell over his face, and hid his blush. He played with his lip ring with his tongue nervously, and thought desperately of what to say to her.

Astoria looked at him curiously for a second when he seemed to be frozen for a second there. She laughed and walked into his dormitory.
She glanced around nosily, and giggled at his comment, "I take it you and your roomie don't get on" She smiled.
She walked around some scattered shoes on the floor, and over to the window. Turning back to him she said, "So how have you been?"
She wasn't usually this confident around guys, especially the ones she secretly liked, but today she felt different, maybe it was the fact she had no homework and was unusually chatty and happy.

He shrugged, sitting down on his bed against the wall and taking extra long - again - to sit his guitar just right on his lap. He wondered what his relationship with Chris was like. “Dunno really. He has something against me for some reason or another,” he conveniently left out the fact that he was a jerk to him. Well, he was a popular. Someone needed to put him in his place.
He watched her giggling and avoiding the many shoes tossed carelessly over the floor. He felt like apologizing about the mess, but then, why should he? None of them were his. He only owned two pairs, and one was on his feet right now. The other pair was tucked away in a corner in case he wanted an early morning run. He hesitated, his fingers poised over the finger board of the instrument, his other hand holding the pick at the ready. But nothing came to him. He frowned, for the first time in ages he couldn’t remember any of the songs he liked to play.
Danni was glad when she asked a question; he could use that as an excuse to not start playing yet. He pondered the reply before saying, “Hum, Alright. Chris doesn’t really help. I hate populars; they think they’re so cool,” he added the part about populars with an acid edge, he really did mean what he said. He sighed and strummed a chord. Then another. He kept on like this for a while, playing random chords here, a single note there. It wasn’t anything really, just nerves. “So…sing for us. Please,” he looked up and smiled at her, silver lip ring catching the light.

Astoria smiled, "I've only met him a couple of times" She shrugged, so she hadn't really formed an opinion on him yet, she glanced out the window overlooking the courtyard. The rain was still pounding down heavily on the graveled patio, she sighed silently and turned back to the more brighter room.
Astoria nodded in agreement, "They don't often talk to me, Its quite funny being ignored by them" She laughed, "I had a brief encounter with Dakota Woods the other day, she seems highly irritating" She said, laughing as she remember what Whit had called her. Miss USA.
She sat on the other end of his bed, excited to here him play something on his instrument. She blushed when he stopped playing and asked her to sing. She shook her head quickly, her bright coloured hair flying over her face. "I can't think of a song" She added, thinking up a quick excuse, she was unusually shy when it came to singing, she only ever practiced on her own.

He sighed, this was going to be an awkward few hours, he could tell. Just had to fuckin’ get on with it, he supposed. Dakota? Well, she certainly liked to work her way around the groups. “Oh, her! She made me sit down and talk to her at the beach this morning,” he made a face, confirming that it was not a nice experience at all. As for her no songs excuse? Well, he’d just have to go first wouldn’t he? “Hum…will this help you remember some?” he smiled sweetly, and then turned to look at the guitar, playing ‘Disenchanted’ by MCR softly. He liked how it came out. It was his favourite song to play, so sweet at the beginning. The kind of song you could get all emo over whilst playing it on stage. He liked that. “Know the words?” he asked, starting again, whilst still looking at her, taking her all in. She was so pretty, and her hair was awesome. Maybe she could be more than a friend. ‘Guys or girls? Argh…why’s it got to be so hard?’ he thought, trying franticly to figure it out before someone made a move, or said something about crushes or what ever.

Astoria smiled at his face when he mentioned Dakota, and a quiet laugh escaped her mouth, "She seem's quite..." She shrugged not finishing her sentence, looking down at her bright blue converse. 'Overrated' was the word she was thinking off.
"I love that song" Astoria said happily, listening to him play it perfectly. She grinned, "Almost as good as Ray Toro" She said with a wink, she looked away slightly. "I only know .../some/" She replied, which was a lie, of course she knew the lyrics, she was just really shy when it came to singing around others.

He stopped suddenly, and frowned. Okay, so she didn’t want to sing? He didn’t mind really, but that would mean she’d want to talk. Danni wasn’t good at talking. Maybe if he got her going about herself, he’d not have to say anything. ‘I love your face’ he thought suddenly. ‘Where’d that come from? Wow Danni…man…she really is nice…let’s see…’
He put the guitar away, and moved closer to her on the bed, so at not to seem anti-social or anything. He decided against it too late, and slid down onto the floor smoothly. He crossed his legs, and smiled up at her. “Sorry…I’m not really in the…‘zone’, y’know?,” he laughed slightly. Danni, that was a really pathetic excuse. He blushed, and ran his hand through his hair. “So…uh…Where you from?” he asked awkwardly. He knew if she answered America, and he said England, she’d get all excited and ask him about it. That usually happened. Oooh, you’re so different coming from England, tell me about the Queen… and scones! He looked out the window, watching the rain slide effortlessly down the smooth pane of glass.

Astoria smiled shyly, she was confident in most areas, but just needed to work on performing, especially if she was considering it for the future.
She laughed at Danni, but not horribly, as he slid onto the floor, "Tired or something?" She asked, hesitating whether or not to join him on the carpet. She decided against it and crossed her legs, smoothing out a crease in her purple skinnys.
She swear she had just caught him blushing, and felt her own cheeks go red, but she concentrated on something else which made it go away. "Oh, I'm from Franklin" She said with a smile, "Tennessee" She added. "A small town really" She continued, "You're English right?" she asked, sensing that he somehow didn't really want to talk about it, guessing that was the reason he looked away. He didn't seem very talkative. She tucked her hair behind her ears, "Did you come here by choice?" She then asked.

Her laugh made him feel a little better. It was something, right? He made her laugh. Well, that was a good start. “Uh yeah…England. My mum’s from China though,” he wondered if his accent was strong. He’d only been in America for a year and he’d spoken about as much as a mute person with laryngitis. He then shook his head. He never wanted to leave his mum; it made him feel even more insecure. “No…she, my mum that is, sent me to get a good education. I miss her though,” he stared at the floor embarrassedly. What kind of boy admitted to missing their mum? That was pathetic really. He wondered - and worried - if she’d ask about his dad, or his old school, or his old friends. That’d be one sob story after another. He didn’t really want to make her feel sorry for him, or make himself feel sad for no reason. ’Think of something to change the subject! Think!’ he pleaded himself, then it hit him. Kill two birds with one stone. “So uh…is your boyfriend here? Or did you leave him back home?” he asked casually, like he assumed such a pretty girl would already have a boyfriend. Wow, three birds in one stone. He complimented her, he’d changed the subject and he could find out if he could flirt with her or not. Danni, your luck is changing.

Astoria smiled softly, and slid down next to him on the floor, hugging her knees. "I miss my parents" She said after he admitted he missed his mum, it was unusual to hear this from a boy. They were always trying to act tough, but she didn't like that, she just found it annoying.
"I decided to come here though..." she said, thinking back to when she had asked her parents, "I really wanted to study music properly" She said, trailing off.Her eyes widened, "Oh I left them both at home" She answered a smile on her face, waiting for his reaction but she soon gave up her act, she was never good at making jokes. /Great/ she thought, /I've made a fool out of myself and know he thinks im arrogant/.
She sighed, and then honestly said "I don't.. have a boyfriend" she answered, she could feel her cheeks going red. "Do you miss your girlfriend?" She asked slyly, she could use this to find out something she wanted to know.

Danni glanced at her through his hair as she sat down next to him, and she said about missing her parents too. Ah, so she had both her parents. Well, fair enough, most people did have just a ‘normal’ family. What ever you could call a normal family. 2.5 kids and a dog, right? He did something unusual then - he pushed back his combed over fringe. Suddenly it seemed rude to be blocking her out with it. She probably thought he was a wimp or something, now, confessing to missing his mommy or what ever.
He laughed at her ‘both of them’ joke. He got it right away, and thought it was hilarious. “That’s funny. Good comeback,” he grinned, for the first time in about three months, and flashed his straight teeth. He was glad that he’d had braces on the rare occasion he did smile, it made him feel more … well; it made him feel better about smiling. Then she changed her reply. ‘No boyfriend? God…she’s so pretty though!’ Danni felt something between not being able to believe his luck, and a bit of a crush growing slightly out of proportion inside of him. Then, she returned the question.‘oh shit! I didn’t leave a girl…just a bloody boy, didn’t I?’ He felt himself blush, and was sure he’d turned beetroot red. “U-uh…Well…I left my uh…boyfriend…But he dumped me anyway…” he trailed off, staring at the carpet in front of him, and picking at it embarrassedly.

Astoria looked at him carefully, he looked different without his fringe covering half his face, she smiled kindly. Hesitating whether or not to compliment him about it, she decided against it and giggled slightly as he laughed at her joke. She was glad she didn't come across like an idiot. "You should smile more often" She said with a grin, elbowing him playfully in the side and stretching out her small legs infront of her.
Astoria was surprised by his answer to his question, she had never suspected it, but she was also surprised that the fact didn't change her opinion on him at all. She tried not to judge people because she hated being judged herself.
She smiled softly, thinking over in head of what to say, "Were you together long" She asked curiously, hoping not to seem to nosy. She could see he had gone red, and was embarrassed, but she didn't know why he was so nervous. She decided not to say anything else and looked across the room at some of the posters decorating the walls.

He giggled and shied away from her playful elbow, grinning and hiding his face in embarrassment. “Aaah! You make me sound like a miserable sod,” he complained playfully, his embarrassment about telling her of his boyfriend lost for a moment in their playfulness. He twitched his head to the side, moving his hair away from his eyes again, liking the way she’d smiled at him.
“Hum…He was weird. I didn’t really like him. I’m kind of glad he dumped me. He said that I’d cheat on him and I probably would have done, he was a jerk,” he said, scowling as he remembered his boyfriend. He’d never had good experiences with boyfriends, and vowed to himself never to have one again. Danni would hate to be a bad boyfriend; he would hate to hurt someone’s feelings like that.
For a moment he wondered if she thought he was gay completely, and felt irritated with himself for brining up the whole subject all together. He looked at her, and tried to think of something to say…her hair. It was awesome, a really bright orange sort of colour. “I love your hair. It’s awesome,” he said, feeling himself blush again. He hated getting embarrassed, being shy and stuff. Sometimes he even wished he was a popular, so he could be confident and not worry about making himself look silly. No…actually, he’d rather be a drama nerd. They were always confident about everything. Not like him.
