Dakota had just walked to thepark to meet up with Alex. Now, she was waiting for him to get here. She was sitting under a big tree, her iPod headphones stuck into her ears. She was wearing a pair of back Bremuda shorts, a pink tank top with milk and cookies on it, and her Converse. She had left her hair down, but didn't really do anything to it, except brush it. She changed the song and sighed.

Alex crossed the road from the skate park, and hurried down the pathway to the gates of the park about 5 minutes away.
He fiddled with his t-shirt, it was annoying him, grunting awkwardly he looked up and noticed Dakota by the tree.
He walked over, "Hey" He smiled, tapping her on the shoulder, as she had her music on.

Dakota took her headphones out and grinned at him. She gave him a quick kiss on his lips and said "Hey lover."

Alex smiled, and bent down beside her, stretching out his legs and sitting down.
"You alright?" He asked, as he dusted his red drain pipe jeans.

Alex wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and watched the birds in the clear sky.
He turned to face her, "Don't let it bug you" He said simply, "It's in the past now..." He added.

"I'm trying not to. I share a dorm with her though." Dakota sighed, leaning on him. "I don't think we're going to be friends again."

Alex squeezed her shoulder in a comforting way, "Give it a while" He then said, with a shrug, "You might make up, but is it a big deal too you if you don't?" He asked.

"Not really. I don't really care." Dakota shrugged.
"Oh, and there's something else I need to tell you.." Dakota said, her voice trailing off. She didn't really know if she wanted to tell him about what Tyler said. She didn't want it to be a really big deal.

Alex looked at her, wondering what it was that she needed to speak to him about. "Really?" He asked, "What is it?" He asked softly, leaning back to look at the barely clouded sky.

"Okay.. Well.. yesterday.. I think. I was in the courtyard watching some girl dance and Tyler came over and started talking to me. I told him we were dating and he like freaked out saying how I deserved better and I asked him why he said that about every guy I date and he said Cause he likes me and it's hard to see me with another guy. And that he's liked me for like 6 years." Dakota said, talking a little too fast at the beginning, but slowing down towards the end.

Alex listened to her intently, not getting where it was going.
"Everyone seems to think you are too good for me" He said, which was half true, but no one seemed to believe that he had changed, as far as he knew anyway. He truly liked Dakota.
"He likes you..." He said, quite surprised with the result of the explanation. He really didn't know what to say back to her, did she like him as well?

Alex gave a small smile, he didn't really know what to think, part of him was slightly jealous, but he didn't know what for. He was happy that he had managed to get the girl he honestly liked, but now he was afraid of losing her.
"Oh.." He didn't mean for that to escape his lips, he hesitated he didn't want to say what he was thinking, scared of her reaction he then said, "You don't like.. him do you?"
He was never usually worried about this kind of thing, he just wasn't used to the whole relationship thing.

Dakota sighed and considered lying to him for a second, but decided against it.
"I used too.. Well, I recently stopped. I was tired of waiting for him. I liked him from when I first met him up until the beginning of this year.." She hesitated slightly and continued "And we've hooked up a few times." She picked up his hand and began playing with his fingers.
