Bill looked around and sighed, he still couldn't understand why he'd asked to meet Carter at the park. He hated being outdoors. Noticing a half decent looking bench, he trudged over and took a seat, pulling out his sidekick. He decided that while he waited, he'd make another attempt to get ahold of his brother, considering it was still only 9:30 in Berlin.

Carter spotted Bill sitting on a bench in the park they had agreed to meet in via text message. A smile swept across her face as one normally did whenever she saw him. Bill was one of her absolute greatest friends and she loved spending time with him.
"Strange we should meet here," she joked and sat next to him, spying at the Sidekick in his hands. "Who are you trying to reach?"

Bill looked up and grinned, pushing his hair out of his face. "Yah, I don't know what I was thinking. I hate being outside," he laughed, his heavy German accent still evident, "I was just trying to get ahold of my brother. But it doesn't matter." He closed his sidekick and put it away. Turning his head back towards Carter he smiled again, "Have you been up to anything interesting lately?"

"Oh! My life is a never ending rollarcoster of thrills!" She held her straight face for only a few seconds before cracking a smile. "I've done absolutely nothing in forever. That's why I needed to come hang out with my bestest buddy!!"
She punched him in the arm playfully. The truth was, her life was boring. She never knew that being an actress would be so dull. Going out with friends was really the only fun she had, but she hadn't done that in a while.
"So what's been up with you?"

"Sounds thrilling, I glad you came though. I missed you!" Bill laughed when he felt Carter punch him.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out his lighter, placing it next to him. He then started his hunt for his cigarettes. "I haven't been up to much either. Just the usual." After managing to find his smokes, Bill pulled one out of the pack, offering one to Carter.
"Actually, that's a lie. I just got back the other day from the Maldives. My parents made me go on vacation with my brother. It was.. a fate worse than death; one can only take so much of sitting on a beach." Bill sat still for a second then started looking around. "Didn't I just have my lighter? Or am I losing my mind?" he mumbled.

Carter took one of the cigarettes, though she only smoked occassionally. "A vacation sounds really good right now." She leaned back on the bench and closed her eyes, picturing herself somewhere away from school. When she opened them, she saw Bill searching for the lighter that he had sat next to him. She didn't say anything at first, thinking how Bill being so forgetful sometimes was comical.
"You set it next to you," she said, giving him mercy and waiting for a light.

"I'll have to admit it was nice, a really beautiful place." Bill smiled, fidgeting as usual.
After being reminded of where he'd left his lighter, he looked down and hastily snatched it up. Bill let out a loud, overdramatic sigh as he noticed that he'd now have to re-do his nails. He proceeded to light his cigarette then held the lighter out to Carter, watching as she lit hers. "If you could go anywhere, where would you go?" he questioned

Carter took a drag on the cigarette Bill lit and exhaled slowly. "If I could go anywhere..." she looked up to the ceiling. "Where would I go?" She was silent, actually trying to think hard. She had never really gone anywhere. She lived her whole childhood in Chicago, and then was set down to Miami for school. "Where would I go?" she repeated.
"I think...I think I would go to New Zealand." She smiled. Going to New Zealand had always been somewhat of a dream of hers since she was a little girl, seeing the sunrises on television.

Bill watched Carter as she thought. He took a drag of his cigarette and turned his head away, exhaling slowly. He studied all the children as they ran around playing. Looking back towards Carter, he grinned. "New Zealand? Nice choice. I bet it would be a gorgeous place to visit."
Growing tired of the cigarette, Bill dropped it on the ground next to him and stamped it out. He let out a yawn as he streched his arms above his head, he could feel the cool air on his stomach as his shirt rode up. I should really think about getting some clothes that fit he thought. He leaned forward and place his elbows on his legs and his face in his hands, yawning again.

"Tired much?" Carter asked, taking another drag and exhaling. "What have you been doing that makes you so tired?" Carter put her arm around him as he was bent over, putting her head on his shoulder. She liked being close to people like this, especially Bill who was her best friend. She lifted her head back up to take another breath of cancer.

Yawning again, Bill smiled when he felt Carter's arm around him. He was so grateful to have a friend like her. "I don't even know, to be honest. I just haven't been sleeping. It's really irritating." Feeling bad, Bill sat up straight and looked at Carter, "Sorry if I'm being really boring," he started, "I think the lack of sleep is killing my ability to make conversation."

"Well then," she said, straightening up like Bill had and throwing her cigarette to the ground, stomping on it with her wedged heel. "I'll just have to make some conversation." She looked around the park for a while, watching other people walk by, completely at a loss for conversation. Usually, she was good at making conversation with people, but she just couldn't think right now for some reason.
"Hmm," she sighed. "Well. Why don't we talk about...boys? Girls? Whatever?"

"Boys and girls. Hmm, well, there is someone I've had my eye on. But I haven't really.. I don't know him very well." Bill chuckled and looked at the ground. It had been a while since he'd been so taken by someone and it scared him slightly. It wasn't normal for him. "What about you? Anyone you've been checking out?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. When he really thought about it, he could never remember a time when Carter really mentioned anyone.

"I dunno," Carter shrugged. "I hooked up with this one kid a couple times, but it's far from serious." She sighed. "No one's been coming around. Maybe something's wrong with me..." She stared off across the park, reflecting for a brief moment when she realized that Bill had not told her anything about this mysterious someone.
"I want to hear all about this someone!" she said suddenly. "Boy, girl? Older, younger? Hot? Tell me!!"

Bill hugged Carter slightly, "Aw babe, there's nothing wrong with you! Just gotta wait it out, you'll find someone. And that person will be more than lucky to have you!" Bill grinned, and looked around, yawning again.
"He's a boy, that's for sure. He's younger by a couple years. Nothing's happened yet, we only really met the other day. It's odd because I'm not used to.. liking someone so much, so fast. I've been watching him around school for a while though." Bill closed his eyes as he thought about whether or not he should say the name. He decided against it but grinned anyway, "And yes, he's extremely hot!"
