Carrie walked onto the beach with a towel and surfboard in hand. She was in a pair of short jean shorts and a pink tank top, but she was about to shed down into her white and pink bikini.
Being new, Carrie didn't know a soul in Miami. She thought the beach would be a nice place to hang out and meet people so she is doing just that. Finally she found a nice place to set her stuff down. She put down her board and lifted her shirt over her head and dropped her shorts. Then she grabbed her board once more and headed to the ocean.
The surf wasn't good and she couldn't really catch anything. She decided to head back. The sun was pretty hot today so she decided to go tanning. She laid her towel out and laid herself on it. She wasn't much of a fan of sitting around so she hoped someone would come distract her.

Joe parked his car in the parking lot at the beach. He thought that since it was sunny out, he should go and get a tan. He was a little too white. He wore a black t-shirt and some swimming trunks, with some converse. He always wore converse or vans. He didn't really own any other type of shoe. He locked the car and shoved his keys, cellular device, iPod, and tanning lotion in pockets. Soon he was walking the beach when he spotted Avery.
"Hey Avery!' Joe yelled trying to embarrass her.

OOC: I'm not sure if avery is a person that is just like randomly there or if you think Carrie is avery so I'm just gunna pretend that's what you think. If I'm wrong I'll fix it haha =]
Carrie looked up when she heard a boy calling. It sounded like he was calling in her direction but last time she checked her name wasn't Avery. She had a lot of nicknames but that wasn't one of them. "Are you talking to me?" she said sitting up now on her towel with her legs extended out still catching the rays of the sun.

"Oh hey Carrie. From the distance I thought you were Avery. I also have my sunglasses on so you gotta forgive me. Sorry." Joe said embarrassed now, as he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.

She laughed. "Please, call me CJ." she thought the name Carrie made her sound so old. So she shortened it to CJ. She pondered how she had met this boy but she knew she had to have because she knew his name to be Joe. "So what brings you here today?"

"Nothing really. I couldn't get hold of Rachel, so I thought I should come down to the beach." Joe told her as he layed out his towel beside her and sat down. "So why are you here?" He asked her looking out into the ocean.

She had absolutely no idea who Rachel was so she ignored it. "I don't know. Being new here and all I thought the beach would be a pretty good place to meet people." She said sighing. "And the sun was nice a hot so I thought I could catch a few waves and get a little color."

"You look colorful to me." Joe said laughing a little. He pulled up his shades and rubbed his eyes. It was only around noon, but he was tired. He didn't go to sleep in 5 in the morning.

CJ laughed. "Thank you. I think." She noticed Joe rubbing his eyes. "Ruff night? Looks like you haven't slept in forever."

"I didn't get to sleep until....."Joe said as he yawned. "Until 5 in the morning." Joe said as he closed his eyes and put his shades back down. Recently he hasn't gone to bed until 4 or 5.

"Shut it Carrie." Joe said smiling over at her. "I just can't sleep for some reason." Joe said shrugging his shoulders. He had no idea what's been keeping awake. Maybe I'm just worried about exams. He thought as he remembered that exams were coming up very soon.

She laughed. "Call me CJ remember?" no one ever remembered, but she never stopped reminding them. She changed her position so her legs were bent infront of her and her hands were linked over them. "So what has been on your mind that could be the reason you aren't sleeping?"
