Astoria nodded, "I've been playing Piano for about nine years now" she said with a smile, it took her a while to work out exactly how long she had been playing for.
"I didn't have a choice really..." she said, "My whole family is musical, but I love playing" She said with a smile. "Do you have any hobbies?" she asked curiously, wondering if he played a sport or anything.

"No, I love theatre through, used to see the old classics like CATS and Starlight Express, I went with my parents back in London, but we came here and sort of stopped going to the theatre." Dom said watching her, "I like sport as well, cricket and football, or socer if that is what Americans call it. I was on the school teams back home..." he trailed off.
"So, yeah." he laughed dryly.

"Awesome" Astoria said in reply, "I love going to see stage shows, my friends really into Broadway" She explained, "I'm waiting for some of the English shows to hit Broadway..." She continued.
She moved onto sport, "I don't really play sport, I just dance" She said, stopping because she thought she was talking to much about herself and didn't want to come across as the kind of person who did.
"Whats cricket?" She asked with a laugh, she was in one of her talkative moods today.

Dom nodded, he then listened to her,
Whats cricket?.
He forgot, Americans didn't know what cricket was, they didn't play it. "Oh right, its sort of like...baseball, you have a bat and you have to hit it as far as you can then run to the boilers stump to your stump as much as possible." Dom tryed to explain that well, he hoped he didn't confuse.
"Hope that didn't confuse you!" he laughed.

Astoria giggled, "Oh right" She said, taking in the information, she slightly understood.
She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand, not meaning to be rude. "So what subjects do you study?" She asked, wondering if he took any of the same subjects as her. Some students took more classes than others.

"Oh god." This time Dom had to think to answer the question..."Um.." the sun was making him sleepy. "Maths, English, Science, Drama..." he started to list them, "Spanish, French...yeah, think thats nearly all of them." he said smiling.
"What about you?" he asked.

She shuddered slightly when he mentioned he took French and Spanish, she laughed, "I'm useless at languages" She said simply.
She thought for a moment before answering, "I take, Music, Music Technology, Dance, English, Maths and Chemistry" She said with a smile. "I really want to study media, but i think I have to wait till Junior or Senior" She added with a shrug.

"oh, and History, god I hate history..." Dom thought, "my mate back in England said it was one fucking thing after another, which is sort of true..." he trailed off, "whats Chemistry like? I dropped it when I was a freshman. and yeah, you have to take Study Media in Senior." he added.

"Ick History" She laughed, uncrossing her legs, and dusting the sand of her tights. "You're friends right, I find it difficult, theres so much dates and events to remember!"
"Chemistry is okay, we mainly do experiments" She explained, "Which is better than written work..." She said.

"Blowing stuff up!" Dom laughed and took another puff, he looked out to sea, the sun shone down on his face, and he flicked his hair out of his eyes.
He looked back at her, smiling. He looked back up along the beach, people were walking past, and some girls came by, he winked at them and they giggled and walked on. He laughed and sat back on the sand.
