There is a thin line between, what is good and what is evil, I would tiptoe down that line, but I would feel unstable. My life is a circus, and I am tripping down the tightrope, Well, there is nothing to save me now, I’m falling to the ground. Falling to the ground. Down to the ground
Pounding the silky white sand with light footfalls, Danni ran along the beach, teasing the edge of the ocean by staying close yet not close enough to get wet. His choice of running shoes was a pair of black converse. They were pretty tatty and old, having seen many a run akin to this one. His breathing was deep, pushing his lungs out to painful boundaries. He liked the sound of his panting, it made him feel like with each breath out, and his anger flowed away. Not that it ever went anywhere. Running just helped the chestnut haired boy push it back down where it belonged - out of sight. Soon he’d stop running, and walk back to the school to play his guitar. That was his only lover. The matte grey instrument was never left alone for more than a few hours, and the finger board was so worn down the frets had begun to come loose. Not that it mattered to Danni. He’d really have to fix it some time, but not yet. Just a little longer, he says every time the thought comes to him. Just one more go. He stumbled and fell, landing face down in the sand. ‘Fuck it.’ He thought bitterly, and eased himself up to sit cross-legged like a Turk, gazing out to sea. His silvery black eyes stood out bright against his pale skin as he scanned the horizon, without any make-up to mask their natural brilliance.
The sun had not yet risen, the morning was still so young and the sky was a matte grey. There was a halo of light towards the East, where the sun was just beginning to reach the edge of the visible world. He sighed and lay on his back in the sand, resting his head on his hands. With his tongue he fiddled with his lip ring, thinking deeply. “Aw…should-a brought my iPod,” he muttered to himself, breathing in the salty sea air. He sat up, and turned round, staring intently at the shadowy palm trees. The whole world looked grey. Grey and dreary, like the night had sapped the life from it all. He frowned, what a way to cheer him up. ‘Yeah, let’s go stare at a miserable grey world. That’ll make me happy.’ He sighed, and stood up, beginning to wander back towards the town. Maybe he could stop and go shopping or something, if you could even buy anything for ten bucks. He frowned when another thought came to him. ‘Does anyone from school come out this early in the morning?’ If they did, he’d know about it sooner or later. Later rather than sooner, so he headed towards the palms and walked among their pre-dawn shadows.

Dakota sighed. Her alarm had just woke her up for another long day of practice. She decided against going to the gym right away, going to the beach instead. She quickly got dressing in a pair of shorts and a tank top so she could go straight to the gym after the beach. She tied her hair up in a tight ponytail and she walked out of her dorm. She walked to the car lot and unlocked her car and climbed in. She found something on the radio before pulling out of the parking space and driving to the beach. Once she arrived at the beach she got out of her car and walked to the sandy part of the beach. She noticed a guy among the palm trees and wondered who it was. She had never seen anyone out here. She walked closer to him and sat in the sand. She didn't think she knew him. Oh well.

Danni stopped to run his hand along a notched tree, the marks clearly made by a knife. He bit his lip, and glanced at his arm. There were similar marks there, only they were thin white scars. He wondered why someone had cut the tree like that, and whilst he was trying to solve this puzzle, he forgot to keep himself hidden. He saw the blonde haired girl come towards him, and he shrunk back deeper into the thicket of palms, eyes wide. He was like a frightened animal, a deer or a rabbit, trapped and unable to get away from it. He peered at her, and thought up the dirtiest word he could find for her. Blonde, high pony tail, gym clothes. She had popular written all over her. Danni was an anti-social boy at the best of times, but an unknown popular was going to get the sharpest of his many faceted personality if she got any closer.
He stood, scowling at her from the shadows, for a while. It suddenly dawned on him how stupid he must seem. She’d clearly seen him, and he’d gone slinking back into the shadows like a demon creature or something. If only he could just go back and hold his guitar tenderly in his arms, play a love song to himself because there was no one else to give it to. He sighed, and steadied himself. He stepped out of the palm grove; hand laid on the last tree for a bit of comfort, and spoke. “Hi there,” well done Romeo. You have just introduced yourself to a girl for the first time. He frowned slightly, like he’d forgotten something, but he couldn’t remember it. Instead he fiddled with his lip ring.
[gotta go now, bye~ hope Danni's not being too rude XD]

Dakota turned around, surprised. She didn't really expect him to come up to her and talk to her. "Uhh.. Hi." She studied him for a moment. He kind of reminded her of Alex.. well, not really.. maybe it was just the lip rings and the pants. Oh well. "I'm Dakota. And you areee?"

He frowned, maybe he should just pretend he hadn’t heard her reply and walk off? But no…he had heard her, and besides, that’d be rude. ‘And when’s that ever stopped me?’ he asked himself, running a hand through his dark chestnut hair, which was combed over his right eye. He sighed deeply, twisting the end of his foot into the sand beneath him awkwardly. Her voice was annoying, as was the swishy ponytail. It really did remind him of a pony’s tail…but didn’t that mean…Urgh. Nice thought Danni, nice. He glanced at the sea, smiling faintly when he saw the sun’s winter paled disk had risen past the horizon, then frowned when he realised it must be about 9am now. "Uh...I'm Danni," he muttered, not really in the mood to make new friends.

"Hi." She really got the vibe he didn't really like her. Oh well. She patted the ground next to her and said "Have a seat."

He made a face of distaste, but quickly changed it to a polite smile. He might as well…not like he was going anywhere. What if it was because she fancied him, or she wanted to be his friend? Why’d that be the case anyway? She was probably the most popular one of the lot and had a boyfriend and about six other guys fighting for her. Plus, why be friends with the freaky emo fresher when you had all your adoring fans? He sighed, and sat down, making sure there was a considerable gap between them, but not so big that it looked like he was being rude. He stared out to the sea, his hands supporting him behind. “You want to talk to me?” he asked, hoping it didn’t sound too rude, or emo-whiney or what ever. Sniffing, he flicked his head to the side, getting his hair out of both his eyes for a moment so that he could see the ocean better, before tipping his chin towards his chest, hiding it again. He shut his eyes, and let the smell and sound wash over him. It was relaxing, but the ever encroaching presence of the older girl was bugging his peace. Like a fly. Oh how he wished he could shoo her.

Dakota shrugged and said "Yeah. I guess. I like talking to people." Dakota looked out to the ocean and then said "Why'd you say it like I wouldn't like you?"

He shrugged, not really knowing. He didn’t really understand this ‘talking to people’ business. Danni didn’t really do it a lot. Not often enough he supposed, maybe if he tried harder he’d have more friends. It seemed a bit pointless really. Why work hard keeping hundreds of friends who were all the same, when you could have a few really special friends? He didn’t get ‘popular’. “I just assumed you wouldn’t. But then, emos are hot right? Got to be seen with an emo. You’re guaranteed to look better than him,” he drawled sarcastically, biting the inside of his lip afterwards. What a stupid thing to say. What was he saying then? Emos were hot, yet everyone looked better? What an odd thing to say…What ever. Anything to wind her up. Soon she’d get bored of her new toy, and go find something more popular to do.

Dakota rolled her eyes. "I don't really like the term emo. But just so you know, emos are hot. and it's not that I gotta be seen with one, I just find 'emos' interesting. Everyone thinks just cause I'm popular I'm like ohmigosh! like, that's so awesome." She looked back at him and continued "It makes me quite mad. It's just like me saying all emos cut. Or all Musicians are amazing at music. It's a stupid stereotype."

‘And you’re a stupid prick. So righteous. How sweet,’ he thought irritably. A musician who wasn’t good at music? That was a new idea. He almost laughed out loud, but bit his tongue to save himself the lashing. “Right…” he muttered, looking at his uncovered arms. What a great person to tell that you didn’t like the stereotype. Danni certainly fitted it quite nicely. A soft zephyr blew across the stark white sand, and rustled in the deep green palm fronds, making him shiver. They might be in Florida, in Miami no less, but the winter still held its cold edge. He glanced at her, not sure what to make of her. Was she a friend or foe? She was a popular for a start, but she’d asked to talk to him, right? He wasn’t sure, and bit his lip thoughtfully. "That's what they all say," he added darkly.

"Okay, so pretty much you think I hate emos right?" She asked, waiting for his answer. She started to draw in the sand and sighed.

Only a few yards away, Dane knelt down burying some explosives under the sand. He hadn't ever tried making things explode on the beach, so it was a guaranted new experience. With a long wire in his hand, Dane took a few steps back... although not enough to dodge what was about to happen. Pulling out his lighter, he lit the wire then dropped it like an idiot he was when it burned him. A few seconds passed, and Dane was so concentrated on his burnt hand he barely had any time to move any farther away when the explosives he had buried exploded.
Sand a little bits of paper flew everywhere, mostly all of it landed on him making him start to cough violently.

Danni looked up for a moment, and saw a boy doing something in the sand. He didn’t really take notice of him though, and turned back to Dakota. “No, I just think you hate me … because I’m unpopular,” he gritted his teeth, trying to stay as polite as possible, which was a challenge for sharp tongue Danni. Always mouthing off at strangers just so that he wouldn’t have to trouble himself with finding the time to make new friends. It wasn’t that he specifically disliked Dakota, it was just…he didn’t like anyone unless they gave him a good reason not to.
There was an explosion, and bits of sand flew everywhere, luckily Danni and Dakota were just out of range, but the sound scared Danni half to death. He cried out in surprise, and jerked away from the sound, almost knocking into Dakota. He swore, and stood up, squinting through the cloud of dust and smoke. He could hear someone coughing violently, but he daren’t go over in case there were anymore. He turned to Dakota. “Do thinks like that happen a lot?” his voice was slightly thin in panic, had he just stepped into a bloody war zone or what?

Dakota sighed. "I don't care if people are popular or not. I pretty much like everyone.. unless I don't know them, or they gave me a reason not too."
She jumped when the thingy exploded and scooted away from it quickly. "Er... Not that I've seen." She thought for a moment and said "It might be that kid Dane. He likes blowing stuff up."
