The day was cold and wet, rain pattered the windowsill as a boy looked out at the swirling rain that was outside, and his face was covered in little bumps and bruises, his hair was covering his face slightly, he pushed the strands of hair out of his eyes as he stared, just staring at the rain, his eyes following the raindrops as they dripped down the window.
He was thinking of Britain, of Devon where he had had a ruff but exciting and happy life, with his brother…Harry, he remembered Harry, he missed him more then anything, the day when Harry had disappeared and never come back, where had he gone? To Manchester, that was what his letter had said, Steve opened his bag and pulled the letter out of it, he still kept it, he didn’t know why, but he liked reminding himself of Harry, as Harry had been his twin;
Dear Steve,
Don’t tell father this but I have gone to Manchester, to get away from life out of The Head that had been the island that they had lived on, I know that you will hate me, and I’m sorry for what I have done, leaving you with Susie and dad.
Hope you are well, sorry once more. Your loving twin,
Harry
Xxx
That was the last thing his father and Stephen had heard from Harry, Susie had said she had got a letter from him, but Steve didn’t believe that somehow.

Holly walked around the school, she was slightly bored. She wandered the corridors listening to her Ipod, she never went anywhere without it. She walked through the doors to another corridor, she wasn't realy playing attention to where she was going, she was too busy changing songs from Paramore to Kenotia, two of her favourite bands. She looked up and saw that she was just outside the library, she knew she couldn't go outside because it was pouring of rain outside. She knew that she might aswell go into the library, she had nothing better to do. She slowly opened one of the double doors and closed it quietly behind her. She did like the library, with the high shelves full of rustic old books, it reminded her of the loca public library when she ised to live in Canada. She put her Ipod off any put it in her jeans pocket. She looked around and saw a boy she had not seen before standing by the window, just watching the rain pour down against it. She was curious about him, she too liked to watch the rain pout from the window sometimes, it calmed her. She walked up beside the boy and looked up at the side of his face. "Hey" she said quietly "you like watching the rain too?" she asked

Stephen heard footsteps coming up behind him, sliding over the wooden floors of the libary. He then heard the owner of the footsteps speak.
"Hey, you like watching the rain too?".
Stephen started to panic slightly, he hadn't had anyone come up and talk to him since he had arrived here, he looked side ways at her, looking at her, she seemed alright, he turned to her, shrugging, and looked out at the rain that poured down.
"Yeah." he said quietly, he didn't speak much to people he didn't know, "Suppose so." He wasn't being rude, completely the opposite of rudness, he was just slightly on edge about talking as he had only had his father and two younger siblings to talk to since he could walk, and his mother before she had died... He looked back at the girl, a weak smile playing on the corner of his mouth.

Holly smiled at his reaction, he didn't seem to say much and Holly was the opposite, you could never get her to shut up when she was in a good mood.
"You don't say much do you?" she asked with a slight laugh as she placed her hands into her hoodie pockets
"I'm Holly" she said with another smile as she looked up at him
"are you new here?" she ased quietly ooc: sorry, it's short, didn't know what else to put lol

"You don't say much do you?"
Stephen didn't say anything to that remark, he had got that lots of times. He just watched the rain falling. Then the girl introduced herself as Holly."I'm Stephen." he muttered, looking back at her, the smile fading.
"Are you new here?"
"Yes, I am". Stephen muttered, "I moved here from England. he stopped and shrugged. "What about you?" he asked her, looking at her, she was quiet pretty...

"Cool, nice to meet you Stephen" she said with a smile, she was always simling these days, maybe because she was in a good mood most of the time. She was just a happy, care-free person.
"England, huh?" she asked raising an eyebrow "Thats, kind cool"
"Well, I'm originally from Canada but I've been here for about 2 years now, it's actually not a bad school" she said with a slight laugh
"Anyway, what's up? cause I never look out watching the rain unless I'm like totally depressed" she said sadly, thinking about the times she used to sit on the window sill of her dorm window clutching her teddy bear to her as she watched the rain fall onto the windows.

Stephen's head shot up and he looked at her, how dare she! He opened his mouth to say something.
"I am slightly depressed, you could say so." he muttered, looking away from her, he flicked his hair out of his eyes and stared out of the window, not looking at her.

Holly was always the kind of girl to speak her mind, she really didn't care what other people thought of her. "why?" she asked slowly "what's up?" she asked a bit more cheerfully than she should have "if you don't want to tell me that's fine, but maybe I can help" she said with a smile Holly was a good listener, she loved to listen as much as she loved to talk and most of the time she gave good advice but the person never took it sometimes claiming that it was a stupid idea.

Holly's words echoced round his brain, "I was just thinking about the past. Stephen finally said, looking at her, "I grew up on an islated island off the coast of Devon in England, with my twin, and my sister and father." he stopped, but continued, "Its just, my twin ran away and hasn't been seen since, thats all, I only had one later from him."
That was enough said...for now at least.

Holly felt slight sympathy for Stephen, she has never been in his situation before so she really didn't know what to say. She thought for a moment and came up with a solution...she just hoped it was a good one. She liked to give advice, she just hated giving bad advice.
"well, maybe you shouldn't focus on the past" she said slowly "I mean, why do it when what is done is done, you can't change the past but you can change the future if you really try, that's what I believe in" she said with a smile
"You should try to think of your family in a good way, think of what they might be doing at the moment and it might make you smile rather than dwelling on the past, it's not healthy, believe me, I know" she said slowly and calmly

Stephen looked back at her, "I was very close to my twin, thats all." he muttered quietly then looked back out the window, the rain was getting heavier as the minutes past.
He walked over to a chair and sat down on it, staring at the books that lined the shelves, "Thanks trying to make me feel better. he added, and shrugged, he had saw too much already, what was wrong with him? He didn't know nor care.

Holly was glad that her advice sort of helped. Stephen didn't seem very open althought neither was Holly, maybe after annoying her enough she would tell you but that didn't work for a lot of people. "your welcome" she said sheepishly, nobody ever really thanked her for her advice. "I can maybe understand how you feel anyway...I think" she said casually "I don't have a twin but I have an older brother, only a year though, he's 18. And well he goes to a different school and I don't ever see him" she sighed "I wish he would have changed his mind and come to this school but he wanted to go to private school, I mean how horrible?" she asked with a slight laugh "Hopefully I could get him to change his mind if I ever see him again" she said as she folded her arms in front of her chest "on the plus side, maybe not" she said with a laugh "he's well to protective"

He listened to her talk about her brother, yes they were simplier, in a way. He looked up at her, "Do you like this school?" he asked, running a hand through his brown/blonde hair, the smile fading slightly.
To tell you the truth, Stephen hated the school, he didn't know what had gone into his head to make him come here? It had been his own discuision, his father had no say at all. Stephen watched her closely, she was very nice, at least there was some nice people here.

Holly turned around to watched the rain splashing against the window when she heard him asking if she liked the school. Honestly Holly didn't know how to answer that question, there were just some things that made her feelings indifferent.
"Well...eh..I guess it's okay" she said with a weary smile
"I like some parts to it and others I hate, although I think at the moment I hate things more than I like things"
"Do you like it?" she asked with a short smile as she turned around and sat on the nearest 'sofa' she could find. She sat on it with her legs crossed into a basket and held one arm protectively around her middle as she leaned back on the chair.

"I don't really know, I like some of it, and other parts I hate. I was homeschooled when I was younger, so havn't adjusted to the atmostphere yet." Stephen said shrugging.
"Have you met many people here?" he asked, looking across at her, smiling slightly, but not a lot as he didn't like to smile that much.
