Amber Sullivan rolled out of bed and decided this was an "I need coffee" day. After showering, doing her hair, and putting on makeup, she set off to Starbucks alone. Usually she would've asked someone, anyone, to go with her. She wasn't one to be on her own, especially in public places, but she figured once she had her coffee she'd call someone down to meet her. Right now, she just needed to caffiene.
Pulling out her wallet, she asked for the usual. Venti caramel frapp with whipped cream. It only took them about thirty seconds too long to make it, and after taking the drink, she sat down in a corner to sip away.

All I need is a bottle, and I don't need no friends, no Wallow in my pain, I swallow as I pretend To act like I'm happy, when I drink till no end, no
I'm losing all my friends, I'm losing in the end
Ryuu’s eyes opened slowly, and he squinted against the bright light shining into his face through a gap in the curtains. He groaned, and turned over slowly, his head felt like a block of lead and there was a ringing in his ears. He sat up slowly, and a wave of nausea washed over him. He put a hand to his head, and breathed slowly and deeply, before getting out of bed. He felt heavy and wasn’t quite sure what was going on. After taking some aspirin, he got dressed and decided to go get a coffee to clear his hangover a little.
He entered the Starbucks casually, glancing around like he did incase there were any hot chicks sitting alone. He spotted Amber, and smiled at her. He got in line, tapping a tune on the counter till it was his turn. Ordering a black espresso, he went over to Amber’s table and sat down heavily, squinting as his throbbing head protested. “Hey Am - bam,” he smiled lopsidedly. He took a deep breath through his nose, and frowned. His breath smelt strongly of spirits and cigarettes. He smiled apologetically. “I have to learn to brush my teeth before hittin’ the town,” he laughed, taking a sip of his espresso.

Amber saw Ryuu enter the shop and hoped he would come sit next to her. When he did, it made her smile. She could tell he'd been out drinking. He smelt like smoke, but Amber didn't mind much.
"Don't worry," she said, smiling. "The espresso would've fucked up your breath anyway. You would've only had to brush them again." She laughed and sipped somemore of her frappuchino, twirling her reddish, curly hair around her finger absent mindedly. She was only a bit disappointed that Ryuu hadn't invited her out to party. She knew that he thought she was too young to drink, but he ignored the fact that she didn't care.
"So this party last night. How was it? Hook up with anyone good looking?"

“Party?” he laughed; Amber had assumed he’d been out to some big party and got absolutely smashed. The truth? He’d been on his own in his dorm, and was drinking whilst practicing the drums, a cigarette in the corner of his mouth the whole time. “Not at all, just drinkin’ and drummin’. I heard there’s a party down the skate park tonight though,” he winked at this. Well, he hadn’t really been invited to that one, he invited himself thanks to Danni, but he was certainly going. He gazed at her for a moment, her reddish brown hair catching the light. He smiled, before a pair of blondes caught his eye instead. The problem with Ryuu was that he couldn’t keep his eyes on the same girl for more than a few minutes. Another problem with him was his incessant finger tapping. He was always tapping one tune or another, and was sure it drove his friends up the wall. Not that he cared.

Amber didn't know why people insisted on drinking by themselves, especially someone like Ryuu who was cute and had no problem making friends...or girls squeal. She decided to shake it off, because it's not like it really mattered anyway.
"Drinking by yourself, man," she shook her head and looked down. "I dunno." That was all she said about it. Ryuu's attention was soon taken off the conversation by a pair of big-boobed blondes that had walked in. Amber couldn't help but roll her eyes at what a man-whore Ryuu was. Amber liked the chicks, too, but bimbos weren't her type. Soon after, Ryuu was tapping away at the table.
"Stop," Amber said, grabbing his hand. She could only stand it for a while, and the truth was, she was trying to break him of that habit.

He sighed, and looked a little meek. “I know, I just didn’t have the energy to leave my room last night. School’s been rough, being the last year ‘n’ all,” he frowned, what a pathetic excuse. He smirked, seeing Amber’s eyes follow the girls too, but she didn’t look too impressed. He picked up his espresso again, and Amber grabbed his hand, making him jump. He spilt the dark brown-black liquid all down his shirt. “Holy shit!” he exclaimed, pulling away from her, “You should ask more nicely next time,” he teased, picking up a napkin and half-heartedly dabbing at the large coffee stain all down his Abercrombie shirt. He didn’t really care; it wasn’t one of his favorites or anything.

Ryuu spilt his drink and Amber tried not to laugh, but found it difficult. She was still holding his hand as he wipped himself off with the other. She was smiling, but she didn't know why.
"It's just too hard to keep off you," she said, only half jokingly. "Besides, didn't think you'd realize. You're attetion was elsewhere." She looked to the blondes who were now recieving there coffee that they probably got for free.

Ryuu snorted, and put his napkin down. He glanced about, and then pulled off his shirt. Ryuu had nothin’ to hide underneath. Nope, nothing but his nicely shaped torso. “Careful now, young lady. I could take that the wrong way,” he winked, and yawned, stretching his arms and then crossing them on the table, leaning forwards slightly. "I don't go for blondes. Too ... genericly attractive, know what I mean?" he frowned at them, before turning back to look at Amber again. He was still bleary eyed, and his head pounded. Perhaps it was just because he’d been playing the drums for five hours straight.

Amber watched him take his shirt off with a slight embarrassment. She'd seen his body before, but liked to drink it up when she did. Ryuu was not an ugly guy, evident by the attention that he got from nearly every girl in Starbucks. "You're gonna get thrown out," Amber said, but Ryuu clearly didn't care.
"Everybody goes for blondes because they are so generically pretty," she pointed out. "You mean to tell me that you've never fucked a blonde before?" She looked on disbeilivingly.

He shrugged, they were in a beach town (or city, what ever you call it) and Ryuu was sure that the workers wouldn’t bat an eye. It wasn’t like he was some fat old guy with a hairy grey back like a gorilla. He tapped his fingers slightly, then remembered that Amber didn’t like it and stopped again, grinning meekly.
He considered this question carefully; it was a difficult one to answer. “I’ve never been out with one, but yeah…I’ve probably banged a few when I’ve been really drunk,” he smiled at Amber’s disbelief, it was funny that someone could be so surprised that he’d not slept with a certain kind of person.

"But see, when you're drunk, you usually do things you want to do anyway. Things that you just don't have the gall to do when you're sober. I think deep down you just want to be with blonde chicks because everyone wants to be with blonde chicks. They're the sterotypical hotties." Amber was talking in circles, and she didn't like that. So, she decided to get off the topic.
"Well, if you don't go for blondes, what do you go for?"

He snorted. Ryuu wasn’t into psychology or whatever. Why would he want to go out with blondes because everyone else wanted to? It made no sense, Ryuu wasn’t like that at all. ”What I go for?” he asked himself. He pondered this question for a while. ”Someone who’s good looking, yet doesn’t like to boast about it. Someone witty and someone I can talk to for hours. I’m not always out for sex y’know,” he said, pretty sure that was what most people thought he wanted 24/7. This wasn’t true. It was mostly when he was drunk, which encompassed Friday, Saturday and Monday on a bad week.

Amber snorted at Ryuu saying he wasn't in it for the sex. The truth was, Amber laughing at that statement was more like a joke than anything else. Deep down, she really liked to believe that Ryuu was a sensitive person that actually cared about girl's feelings. She was sure that he was one of those guys, he just had a harder time showing it because everyone knew about his one thousand and one hookups.
"I go for big boobs," Amber laughed. Mostly kidding, of course. "I think silly girls are sexy. But I think silly guys are sexy, too."

“Hum…” he thought about it for a while. He wondered what Amber thought he was like, in the romance department. Ryuu had a bad habit of loosing girls after about two days. He had a bad habit of coming across slightly indifferent. The truth was, he hated going into relationships without getting to know the person first, and sadly that meant the kind of girls he could get a one night stand with couldn’t put up with him long enough so they disappeared. He shivered as someone opened the door, and a chilly wind blew into the shop. One of the people working at the till glanced at him distastefully, and muttered something to their co-worker. “Uh oh, looks like they’re gonna kick us out,” he grinned, almost like he was daring them to. Sadly, Ryuu wasn’t really the ‘sensitive’ lover type. He is very full on and in-your-face most of the time. He wondered if sometimes his bad boy attitude didn’t put the message across sometimes, and the prospects of a sensitive musician were too great to put girls off. And unfortunately, Ryuu quickly made sure they knew he was in no way sensitive. Not at all. He frowned; sometimes he could even be a bit too harsh, even if he didn’t mean it.
