Bill watched as Danni steppd closer and put his hand out. He quickly looked at the boys shaking hand, then up to his face and back to the hand. He wanted to grab it but wasn't sure if that's what he wanted. At that second, Bill decided to just do it, to be 'daring' for once in his life. He reached over and laced his fingers with Danni's and blushed while smiling. He started walking again, but couldn't think of anything to say. He was afraid that if he opened his mouth again he'd sound even more like an idiot.

There is a thin line between, what is good and what is evil, I would tiptoe down that line, but I would feel unstable. My life is a circus, and I am tripping down the tightrope, Well, there is nothing to save me now, I’m falling to the ground. Falling to the ground. Down to the ground
He relaxed a little when Bill took his hand, and began to walk with him. It was like his whole body had suddenly been released from a massive knot of nervousness. He’d felt like it pretty much since he got there. He leant his head on Bill’s shoulder for a moment, holding his arm close. “I was kinda worried you didn’t,” he said quietly, looking up at him with a little smile.

Bill felt as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders when Danni kept their hands together. He'd been so terrified that the boy would pull his hand away and yell at him. Bill shivered bit as Danni put his head on his shoulder. He smiled to himself and felt butterflies in his stomach. It had been years since he'd felt this way, about anyone. He took a deep breath and squeezed his hand a bit.
Bill looked over at Danni, and noticed the smile. He felt his lips curl up into a grin, and wondered what Danni meant. Did he mean he was worried Bill didn't like him? Bill furrowed his brows in confusion and stopped to look at the younger boy, "What d'you mean? You thought I didn't like you? or.." He trailed off, not sure of what to say next. He knew what he wanted to do, but managed to keep control.

Danni felt Bill squeeze his hand, and he hesitantly squeezed it back. The last time something like this had happened…He sighed. The first time he’d met Ash had been a bit like this, and he was scared. What if it turned out the same way? He didn’t want that to happen again. Ash hurt him so bad, it was almost physical pain to be touched by him, but he couldn’t let it go…He bit his lip, looking down at the floor. What would he do if it did happen again? He couldn’t bear to go through that…He glanced at Bill, could he truly think that Bill would be the same as Ash? Well…Only time would tell that tale.
”Yeah…I didn’t want to say anything in case I weirded you out…Then I’d loose a friend too,” he said quietly, suddenly becoming self conscious of all the people looking at them as they walked past. Danni was well experienced in the art of being stared at, but it still made him feel uncomfortable, and he blushed slightly. He looked at Bill again, he seemed to be fighting with his self control, and it unnerved Danni, pushing his thoughts back to those of Ash.

Bill nodded, he knew exactly what Danni meant. There had been so many times in his life where he kept himself from doing something in fear of the reprecussions. Bill noticed the blush on Danni's face as the people on the sidewalk gave them looks. Bill just held his head high as they walked, completely ignoring them. He'd learned early on, looking and acting the way he did, that it was just easier to ignore those types of people rather than worry about what they thought. Looking around, Bill noticed it was starting to get dark. He reached into his pocket and looked at the time. "It's getting late..."

Danni sighed, and glanced up at the sky. Heavy clouds had gathered and the sun was sinking towards the ocean. He grinned, and looked around for the nearest public building. "Awesome! Come on!" he headed towards, leading Bill on behind, a multistory department store, and cast his gaze around for the elevator. "If we're quick, we can see the sunset from the roof..." he muttered, still unable to see the lift.

Bill raised an eyebrow as Danni led him behind a department store. Just as he was wondering what they could possibly be doing there, he heard the boy mention a sunset. Bill grinned, he couldn't remember the last time he'd actually sat down and watched a sunset.
Bill watched Danni as he looked for something. What exactly the boy was looking for, he had no clue, but assumed it must be important. He looked up at the roof of the building and lost himself in thought. "Uhm.. How, exactly, do you plan on getting us up there?"

Danni laughed, and his face lit up when he spotted the lift. ”I have my ways,” he said, and lead Bill over to the lift. Danni couldn’t count the number of times he’d done this. It was easy, take the lift to the top floor, and then there was a ladder in a store room up to the roof. The store room was always open around this time, and Danni loved sitting on the flat roof with his legs dangling over the edge. There was a clear path ahead of you right down to the ocean, and you could watch the sun sink into the waves. Danni had never thought about it before, but it was a very romantic kind of place…He pressed the call button for the lift, and fidgeted excitedly as he waited for it to come down to the ground floor.

Bill chuckled at Danni's response and followed obediently as he led him over to what looked to be a lift of sorts. As they waited for the lift, Bill couldn't help smile. He could tell Danni was excited to be taking him to the rooftops and wondered if it was somewhere that the boy came to think? When the lift arrived at the bottom, Bill hesitated, he wasn't the biggest fan of heights, but entered the lift anyway. He directed his attention at Danni as he asked the question, "Is this somewhere that you come often?"

Danni nodded as they went into the lift, and he pressed the button for the top floor, then jabbed the ‘close doors’ button because he didn’t want anyone else getting in the lift. He smiled as the doors slid shut smoothly and he felt the jolt in his stomach that alerted him the lift was going up. ”Yeah, I go up to the roof whenever I can. It’s really weird up there, like you’re the only person alive…” he trailed off, this time he wouldn’t be. Bill would be there too, and he couldn’t help feel a little nervous and excited at the same time.

"It's awesome that you're bringing me up here. It's been so long since I've properly watched a sunset!" Bill squeezed Danni's hand again as the lift started rising. He could feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest, although he wasn't sure if it was from heights or something else. Bill bit his lip as he waited for it to stop.
ooc: eep, it's so short, sorry!

The lift jolted and the doors slid open. The top floor of the building was free of people, and there were lots of second hand clothes hung up everywhere. A sign near the lift said ‘Charity Department’. Danni frowned, who would come to a department store to buy second hand clothes? He shrugged these meaningless thoughts away, and let go of Bill’s hand, too excited to bother dragging him after him. He walked quickly towards the far corner of the room, and stopped in front of the store closet. He opened it slowly, and slipped inside, holding the door open for Bill. The ladder was there as usual, and he smiled. It was all how it always was. He then turned and climbed quickly up the ladder, smiling as he surfaced onto the roof, the warm wind blowing out over the roof tops from inland. He stood with his hands on his head, breathing in the sweet evening scent. The sky was stained a brilliant orange, the clouds tainted a peachy pink. He could see the sun, a brilliant orange disk burning just above the horizion, the ocean turned red beneath it like the sun was bleeding into the water.

Bill watched, amused, as Danni headed for what looked to be a closet. He quickly followed him over and thanked Danni for holding the door. As the younger boy climbed the ladder, Bill couldn't help but think he had a nice view. Shaking the thought he slowly climbed the ladder, looking nowhere but up. Once on the roof, Bill felt his breath leave him; the view was stunning. He watched Danni as he stared out at the ocean, his hands on his head. He looked so peaceful. Bill slowly made his way over to the boy and stood next to him. "It's.. amazing," Bill muttered, at a loss for words.

He closed his eyes for a moment, breathing slowly. The scent of the ocean was stronger up here, not clogged by the car fumes down on the road between the buildings. The wind was warm on his back and he opened his eyes, turning to grin at Bill. ”I wish I could play my guitar up here. I’d never ever go home,” he said loudly, the wind carried your words away quickly up here, everything sounded distant and muted like you were alone up there. He lowered his arms slowly, and wrapped them round Bill, burying his face in his chest, and then turned his head so he could still see the sunset. He felt himself blush, reflecting the bloody coloured ocean. The sun was sinking faster than Danni thought was possible, and all around them electric lights began to flicker on in the city.

Bill found it hard to pull his eyes away from the scene in front of him but managed to turn so he was looking at Danni. He found it amazing how one moment, they boy had been a nervous wreck, then, the second they'd landed on the roof all that seemed to melt away. He seemed to be at peace up here. Nodding his head, Bill silently agreed with Danni. He felt as if this was a moment that would be better off without words.Turning to watch the sun, Bill suddenly felt arms around him. Glancing down, he couldn't help but smile sweetly. He quickly slipped one arm around the younger boy and moved his head to look out at the ocean. He couldn't seem to get enough of the beautiful show going on in front of him.
