Just Chilling [Closed]

Alex was sat on top of one of the tall skate ramps, which was covered in various graffiti.
Once again he had his iPhone plugged into his ears, with loud rock music blasting out of the headphones.

He often sat in the skate park, it usually wasn't that busy, apart from a few younger kids on their skateboards and random adults walking buy with their dogs. He found it quite relaxing to sit in the sunshine, listen to music, and think about general things.

Delaney walked up casually and sat down near the ramp and saw a farmiliar boy at the top of it. She didn't know him but she saw him around. And she heard this nasty rumor... Note to self: don't talk about that. She looked up at him and smiled. She loved just basking in the sunshine, she was a real beach girl. She hoped she could somehow catch his eye, because she had no idea around the skatepark and would like to talk to someone. And after all, he was someone. She waved and hoped that would do it...

Alex looked around at his surroundings, noting that a few small children were riding by on their roller blades.
As he looked left, he saw a blonde haired girl wave up at him.
He didn't recognise her, but guessed she must go to Watson Academy.

Giving her quite a funny look, he waved back, shooting her a small smile as well.

Well, this was awkward. He obviously didn't know her and he wasn't going to come down. And she couldn't go up but if she didn't talk to him she would look like a stalker. So she was basically stuck... Great. A kid on a skateboard whizzed in front of her and she toppled back onto her butt a little.

Alex frowned slightly, and switched the music on his phone off, unraveling his headphones.
He jumped down from the top of the ramp, and slowly walked over to her.

He smiled slightly, and as he saw her face properly he did recognise her at last, at least he thought he did.
"Your Delaney aren't you?" He asked, squinting slightly because of the sun.

Delaney smiled, maybe people did know she existed... strange as it sounds. "Yeah I am. You're..." Damn. I'm blanking out again, no wonder no one likes me, I can't ever remember them... "Alex? If you don't mind, what were you listening to?" She smiled, music is something she really liked so she always wanted to have insight on what other people liked.

"Correct" Alex said, fiddling with his iPhone in his skinny fingers. "Bradley" He added.
He walked around her so he wasn't facing the sun and shrugged slightly, "Oh I was just listening to Paramore" He said, "The lyrics are really interesting"

She turned so she could still face him and she grinned. "I love Paramore. What song was it; most of their lyrics do make me think, I think they're really cool." She chuckeled almost silently. Who says 'cool' anymore.....

Alex raised his eyebrows slightly, but then changed his facial expression so he showed a smile.
"CrushCrushCrush" He said simply, rolling up his sleeves and folding his arms. "They are pretty good" He said in agreement.
He tapped his fingers awkwardly, "...So what are you doing out here?"

"I like that song, but I think her hair looks a little strange in the video." She too pulled off her green sweater revealing a creme colored tank top with blue trim. "It's hot outside, that's one thing about Miami." She folded her jacket then noticed that her grey, boot clad feet were, again, pigeon toed. She adjusted and stuck a hand in her jean pocket. "I was on my way to the beach and got totally lost..."

"I think the video's awesome" Alex said, "I mean the direction of it is really original.." He continued, but stopped mid sentence, not wanting to go into camera and photography talk.

Alex gave a false smile, he certainly thought this Delaney girl was different, but she was okay to talk too he guessed.
"I'm used to the heat" He said, pointing down to what he was wearing, black jeans as always; not a very good idea in the heat.
"Oh the beach..." He then said, "Thats completely the other way"

"I used to live in California, so I remember directions from there. But yeah, that's not such a good idea to wear in the heat, but boots isn't much better." She laughed. She had been meeting so many new people lately, she was just a little proud of herself. "Are you into cinematography? Not to be annoying but the way you analyzed, it sounded like you're into it a little..." Shoot, why did I have to act like a prying idiot...

Alex smiled once again, but it wasn't a natural smile. "Well I'm always wearing this" He said with a laugh, "So I guess it's my own fault if I complain about the heat"

"Not really cinematography" He replied, "I take photography" He smiled, then gave her a slight odd look. She didn't seem like the ordinary person that would go and talk to new people, it seemed pretty new to her.

"Cool, I'm into theatre and dance and stuff so I'm in front of the camera, while you're the kind of person who likes to be behind it. That's kind of cool." She took a deep breath, beach air is one thing that everyone loves. She twiddled her thumbs and looked over his shoulder. "What's that look for?" She hoped it didn't sound accusitory...

Alex nodded as she explained to him her interests, "I guess" He said in reply, "But I enjoy playing live on my guitar" He added, not meaning to sound boastful in anyway.

Alex turned his head around, following her gaze, wondering what she was looking at. He turned back around to face her and shrugged, "What look?" He said innocently, cursing himself in his head for not controlling his facial expressions.
