Chase glanced around his dorm nervously. He wasn't sure if everything looked alright. I mean it looked just fine and dandy to him, but in a girl's point of view? Who knows! Chase had cleaned the dorm, which actually took a lot of work. With three teenage boys living together, cleaning practically never happened. He had dusted, vacumming, picked up shirts and pants from the floor and 'febreezed' the whole house. Chase had even presuaded his room mates to leave him alone for the night.
After cleaning, Chase took a shower to freshen up a bit. He slipped on a olive green tee over his torso, and on his bottom half, he slid on a pair of dark denim jeans. His hair was still a tad wet when the door bell rang. Chase walked quickly over to the door, and turned the knob...

To see dainty, little Avery Parker standing in the doorway. She had passed Liam on the way in, and she knew he lived in dorm 3. She looked past Chase at the door and saw that this was, indeed, Liam & Chase and someone else's house. She looked past him to see... clean. Not exactly what she would have expected from three teenage boys but she forgot about it upon laying eyes on Chase. He was so incredibly cute, he made he weak at the knees. She smiled up at him, he was somewhat a deal taller than her. He looked really nice, in just a shirt and jeans. She too, hadn't really done anything special. She just wore jeans, a shirt, an unzipped jacket, and flats. Her standard. Her hair was as it always was, down over her shoulders and her bangs to one side. She looked up at him and smiled. She wouldn't let it show too much, but she was really excited for this. "You and your roommates scare me a little for being so clean." It was true. Her dorm was about a thousand times dirtier than this. This was not possible, espically for high school dudes.

"Hey." Chase said, happy that Avery was here. He wasn't sure of the time she would be arriving, but he was glad she was here, in his freshly cleansed dorm. "Um, yeah. Well I cleaned it up a bit." Chase told her, referring to the dorm room. "I didn't want to look like a slob." He laughed, while ushering her in the room.
"That's the kitchen, bedrooms," He told her, pausing, "living room and um bathroom." Chase pointed to the various sections of the dorm. "That's basically it." Chase smiled widely, looking around the large room.

"I wouldn't have cleaned. I would have shoved all me and Astoria's crap into a closet and, like, wiped off the counters. Our room is pittifully messy. Between her music and my stuff all over the place..." Avery suddenly realized that she was rambling. She stopped and chuckled nervously. Why was she so paranoid about this... "I'll just shut up now." She closed the door after her foot had made it through.
She shoved a hand in her pocket as he showed her around. She didn't need the intro, all the dorms had the same layout. She wished they didn't, but whoever designed the school was apparently very unoriginal. "It's just like my dorm. I could find my way around here in the dark, I bet. In our dorm, that's my room." She gestured to the room on the left of the small hallway. Theirs had a bunkbed in it, and two closets. She had the bunkbed to herself, and Astoria had the room on the right.

Chase laughed as Avery rambled on and on about cleaning her dorm. It's not like he cared, he liked hearing her sweet voice. "Hah, it's okay. I don't think we cleaned here since I moved in, freshman year." Chase told her, although she probably did not care.
"Yeah, yeah." Chase smiled, looking to Avery. "In the dark? Oh-la-la!" He laughed, kidding around with the girl. "What are we gonna do in the dark?" Chase smirked playfully, and walked out to kitchen.

"Ahh, freshman year. I remember it well. Most confusing 180 days of my entire life. But me and my roommate are in the same year, both sophmores, so we moved in together on our first days. So we were each others first friends." Avery smiled, they were now just trading bits of useless info about dorms and stuff that neither of the other cared about. Well, at least they both thought so. The reality of it was, he liked to hear her talk, and she'd trip all over anything that came out of his mouth. She laughed along, Chase laughed at his own jokes just like she did. That made her feel a hell of a lot better, and more able to crack a lame joke then laugh at it. "In the dark we coulddd..." She trailed off, the sentance taking a detour. "Watch a movie! We could do that in the dark. Aren't I just a genius?"

"I don't remember freshman year. Well vaguely. All I remember is that I hated every second of it." Chase told Avery, while remembering that in freshman year he started his terrible habit- smoking. He wondered if Avery would care if he smoked. Hopefully not.
"Watch a movie?" Chase laughed, winking at Avery. "That works too." He grinned, "But let's just talk for now. That okay?" Chase asked. "Because to be frank, I barely know you."

"I just really didn't know what I wanted and I didn't really know who I was and I was just, you know, like trying to find myself. And that usually got me into loads of trouble..." Avery shrugged, last year seemed like a lifetime ago. Heck, it sort of was. Avery laughed along again and ended in a smile. "Well if you barely know me, I hope you weren't thinking of something other than a movie." Joke, she knew he wasn't. He wasn't like that, neither was she. And she wouldn't dare consent to that on the first "date". "We should do twenty questions or something?"

"Mhmm," Chase replied to Avery, trying to sound supportive. He kind of understood what she was going through, but not really. Finding who you are is probably different for males and females. "Oh never." He joked around. Chase would not do the "unthinkable" with someone on the first date. That was not how Chase was raised. "Yeah sure, that sounds fun. You go first though." He smiled, taking a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen.

[/b] Avery grinned, as Chase took a seat on the island. She slumped onto the floor, her back against a cabinit. One leg was hugged to her chest, the other out straight on the floor, she was flexible. "I ask you one, then I have to answer it as well. Then you ask me one but you have to answer it too. Okay. Umm... What's the best memory of your childhood? Mine is sitting around a fire with my mom and my sister and my dad and making s'mores."[/ul][/size]

"Okay." Chase said, agreeing with the little game the two were about to play. He listened as Avery discribed her favorite childhood memory. "Hmmm.." Chase sighed, trying to figure out what his alltime favorite memory was. "Oh, I got it." He said, after a minute or two. "Like when I was in elementary school, my best friend Noah and I would always go out in the woods. We would go fishing in this lake in my backyard. It was fun." He told her, a smile upon his face. "Okay, so I ask you a question now, right?" Chase asked. He figured the answer to his question was 'yes', so he started to think of a question.
"Did you have any childhood pets?" Chase asked, remembering his old basset hound. "I had one Troy. He was a basset hound. He died last year, my mom called and told me..." His voice trailed off. Chase pretty much loved that dog. And it was his only friend it seemed like, besides Noah. "And my mom had a freaking annoying cat, Snow, or something like that. I hated that thing." He said, laughing. "How about you? Did you have any pets?" Chase asked, looking at her on the floor.

Avery smiled as he recalled his memory, looking compleatly cute and all. In that moment, she had the urge to kiss him on the mouth out of nowhere, but it was the first date. She wouldn't think he would do that type of thing... It would wait, they had time. She nodded with the smile in place as he inquired about if it was his turn. "Ahhh... here's where the hippe in me comes out. I grew up in Maine, on a commune. It was just a big colony of about 6 or 7 families and we all hung out and stuff. And there was houses for each family and stuff. But everyone's pets just kind of roamed around, so we shared them, I guess. So me and my best friend "had" about three cats, six dogs, and a couple of ducks. Yeah, ducks." She put air quotes around the word 'had'. She didn't understand why she was slightly ashamed of this, it was a part of who she was. "Okay my turn. Coke or Pepsi? I'm a total Diet Coke addict, but I recycle the cans! Yay recycling."

"Maine? I went their before freshman year, after my parents won.. It was pretty there. I skiied there." He sighed, not wanting to inform Avery that his parents won the lottery and now were multi-millionares. "Ducks? Sounds like fun." Chase smiled sincerely. He liked this twenty questions game. "Pepsi products. I don't really like cola that much. Mountain Dew is amazing, though." Chase smiled, remembering the sweet taste of the soda. "That's good you recycle!" He laughed. If Avery was any cuter, he would have to grab her and kiss her. Which he might do soon..
"Okay, next question. What is your favorite hobby? Mine is either photography or fishing. I can't choose." Chase asked, still grinning. He figured he would be smiling the whole night. His face was gonna hurt by tonight.

"Oh yeah, ducks. They're cool but they stop being fun when they bite you. That is serious pain." Avery chuckled, holding up her hand where she had a few tiny little scars. From duck teeth. They don't look like vicious animals but when you piss them off, shit. As he laughed she, for about the millionth time since meeting him, had to resist the urge to just jump on him. She'd scare him away. And plus, talking was good too. "I've tried photography but I'm no good. Umm... I like being outside, and I like cooking and hiking a lot. And any chance I get to go white water rafting, I love that. Umm..." She paused to think of a question, biting her lip. Avery had a knack for being all cute without trying to be, kind of pissed off guys sometimes. Too bad she wasn't aware of it... haha. "How many girlfriends have you had before? I've had three boyfriends, but one doesn't really count..." She trailed off. Whit was never really her boyfriend, they had kissed and gone out on a date and she really thought he liked her but he never called her back. She never saw him around anymore, and Chase was the first guy she'd liked since him...

"Ow." Chase said, looking at the bite wounds on Avery's hand. He never really had any experinces with ducks, so he couldn't compare stories with Avery. "Yeah, I'm not good either. But I like taking pictures of people. Not really nature. But I don't know. I take about an equal amount." He smiled. Chase hadn't really taken any pictures lately. That kinda needed to change soon. "Oh, I went white water rafting. It was amazing, you'd love it." He assured her. "It's so fun, you'll have a great time." Chase told his good friend.
"Girlfriends?" Chase laughed, thinking about the only girlfriend he ever had. In eighth grade. Her name was Holly Fable. Hottest girl ever, in his mind. "One. Yeah, I am pathetic, shut up." He chuckled, running his hand through his hair.
