Holly had been talking to Ryuu on the IM for a while, mostly all day. She didn't feel like going out much anymore since she had began to feel that she was fat. She was anything but, loads of people had called her skinny a lot of times but she never believed them. Although she had no other option, her baby had to grow, didn't it? While they had been talking Ryuu suggested that they go out somewhere like the mall. She hadn't been there in ages and thought it seemed like a good idea. She dressed herself in a raspberry coloured dress that she loved so much with a pair of black tights and pair of black heels to go with it. She grabbed her stuff that she would need to take with her and walked out her dorm ,closing the door gently behind her. On her way to the mall she texted Ryuu to tell him that she was on her way. She thought spending time with Ryuu would be the best, he always made her laugh and giggle. She got out of her car when she safely parked it and walked in through the main doors to the mall. She got a few strange looks from people and a couple of older people shaking their head at her as they noticed her bump but she didn't care, none of them knew her enough to judge her. She leaned against one of the main pillars, near the main entrance and waited for Ryuu to turn up.

Ryuu was already inside the mall. He walked out, and pulled out a cigarette discreetly, lighting it and taking a deep puff. The smoke burnt at his throat, after so many weeks of not smoking, it was weird to start again. He felt kind of bad, but he had been feeling so down and emotional recently that it seemed the only natural thing to do. Someone walked past and he caught a snippet of their conversation with the person next to them. “Girls these days, they don’t have any respect for themselves,”
[/i] the older woman said to her son. Ryuu glanced up and spotted Holly, and his stomach churned in anger. Spinning round, he called out. “Oi! Want to say that again?” he said loudly, and the woman stopped. Turning, she stared at Ryuu in disgust. Ryuu looked down at himself. He was wearing a bright, colourful pink shirt and a white tee underneath with tight jeans. His face hardened, “You shouldn’t judge, you know,” he growled, before stalking away towards Holly. He was in a foul mood now, but seeing Holly cheered him up. He pulled her into a hug - careful not to light her hair with his cigarette - and then held her at arm’s length to inspect her bump. “You don’t look fat, not one bit,” he smiled, letting go of one shoulder to draw on his cigarette again. His green eyes flashed with guilt. [/center][/sup]

Holly had been waiting for Ryuu to turn up, she was glad that she was going to be out her dorm for a while, it felt like forever since she had been out and the mall sounded like a good place to start. She could shop for clothes for Nicoli, that would be the cutest thing ever. She just loved the cute little baby shoes you could get, they looked like they would fit a dolly not a baby but that's whatt made them seem even cuter. She looked around for Ryuu and spotted him coming in through the main entrance, where she was just around. She smiled as he hugged her but she nearly laughed sarcastically when he told her that she wasn't fat, she certainly felt like it. "yeah, not fat Ryuu" she laughed "I mean look at the size of him" she giggled as she pointed to her bump She had noticed that he had a cigarette in his hands and she sighed in dissapointment. She thought he had given them up and she was proud of him for doing that but he was straight back to square one now. "Im dissapointed in you Ryuu" she mocked "I thought you'd given them up?" she asked quietly

Ryuu raised an eyebrow when she said she was fat, and lifted up her arm. He smirked triumphantly when he managed to get his thumb and forefinger all the way round her wrist. “See, not fat,” he smiled, and let go of her wrist. Drawing heavily on the cigarette, he let it out with a sigh, staring at the floor forlornly. “I know, I know…I’m just…Stressed out,” he smiled faintly and put a hand in his pocket. It was the pocket he kept the picture he stole from his brother’s room in, and he bit his lip, feeling a pang of sadness. “You have a frightening resemblance to my brother sometimes,” he joked pathetically. He looked around, and frowned. They were getting dirty looks - the perfect example of two teens gone wrong. The smoker and the teen mum. He didn’t feel like he’d gone wrong. Not at all. In fact, he felt like he’d achieved something that other people - ‘good people’ - hadn’t. What that was he wasn’t quite sure…but he’d figure it out one day. He dropped it, and crushed it resentfully under his foot. He’d get rid of the rest later. Pulling out a twenty dollar note, he handed it over, “Go wild,” he grinned, before linking arms with her and practically dragging her into the mall, hoping she’d change their course soon enough towards a shop she wanted to go in.

Holly giggled a little as Ryuu grabbed her arm and wound his fingers around her wrist, she knew her wrists weren't fat and she laughed. "I'm not talking about my wrists dumbass" she laughed "But, anyway, how the hell can you be stressed?" she asked a bit consued "You're the most chilled out, happy relaxed guy I know" "What's wrong this time?, You can tell me anything, Ry" she asked calmly She smiled as he told her to 'go nuts' with the money he handed to her. She knew she would get something for Nicoli, she just couldn't wait to dress him up and play with him. She knew she would never let him go for anything when he came along.

Looking a bit dejected, he stared at his shoes- black Vans with undone, rainbow coloured laces. “I know but…Not your whole body is fat…like…her,” he said, nodding towards an elephantine looking woman, then looking away. He knew that he was being rude, but he didn’t really care. Spotting American Eagle, he grinned and squealed like an excited girl, tugging Holly towards his favourite shop. “Oh, you’d be surprised,” he said bitterly, moving his hand to hold hers. He wondered if Holly felt awkward with him hugging her and stuff, but he didn’t really mind. It was more of a brotherly love he felt towards the small girl, and he glowed with pride at how sweet and lovely she was. “I’m just letting things catch up with me after two years. It kind of hits hard,” he muttered, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the photo. He stopped and faced her; they were hidden from view by two rows of clothes racks. Handing over the picture, he looked away. It was a picture of four people round a kitchen table. The kitchen was brightly lit and had a cottage style. The table was round, and the people sitting at it seemed so close emotionally as well as physically. One the far left was a young man of about 20 with a long black ponytail and stubble. He looked very rugged, until you noticed his clothes and makeup. In all, he was remarkably and flamboyantly gay. He had his arm around another man who was clearly Irja. Irja was holding a blonde haired girl’s hand, and the girl had a young child - barely a year old - on her knee. The child had blonde hair, and shocking green eyes. It held remarkable resemblance to Ryuu. “Found it in my brother’s dorm the other day,” he said, not feeling that the picture - or why he was in his brother’s dorm in the first place - needed explaining.

Holly thought it was funny when he pointed out that she wan't fat compared to somebody else who was overweight and she giggled a little. She knew that her 'fatness' would eventually go away anyway. She felt Ryuu pulling her in the direction of one of the nearer shops and she laughed as she was pulled along, although from what Ryuu had said she felt a slight sympathy for him. She knew that the past few years had been hard for him and with his brother coming to the school at all she knew that it was all dug up again when he probably tried to repress it. She was pulled into the shop and behind a rack of clothes, she didn't know what they were doing hiding in the shop but she'd worry about that later. She watched Ryuu pull something from his pocket and hand it to her. She looked at it, it was a photo of a really loving looking family and she noticed the girl with a small cute baby on her knee. She smiled at the picture, she knew that that would be her soon, bouncing her baby boy on her knee. She studied the picture a bit more and she had an idea of who it could be, she recognised Irja in the photo but she didn't know anybody else in it. She looked up at Ryuu with a sad look on her face. "Is that....Claire? and your...." she asked with a shaky sympathetic tone She couldn't get the rest of her question out, afraid that she might say or start something that she couldn't stop.

Ryuu shrugged, staring at the back of the photo. “Yeh…I don’t even know his name, but I guess that’s not important. Claire, Irja, and Fly,” he said, pointing to each in turn. Fly still looked as weird as ever, but now he had a slightly rugged looking edge which he lacked two years ago. Ryuu always wondered what had possessed Irja to go out with him, but then again Ryuu thought Irja was possessed, so it figured. “I’ve been thinking…” he began weakly, trailing off into nothing. Sighing, he tried again. “I don’t want you to end up like Claire…I promise I’ll be there for you, ‘kay? I’d hate for you to be ... I dunno. I’m sure PJ won’t do a runner like- well…what ever. But I’ve got your back,” he smiled, and put an arm round her shoulder. “So…Baby clothes, right?” he grinned, hiding fake horror in there. If Holly wanted to drag him round Mother care all afternoon, he wasn’t going to complain.

Holly felt a deep sadness for Ryuu, she didn't know how he could go about his normal life knowing that he had a son of his own back in France and the fact that he didn't even know what his name was made her feel even more remorse. She couldn't feel like this though, she had to perk herself up because this was meant to be a best friends hang out day not a reminise about the past outing. Although, the next thing that he said to her made a small crystal tear roll from the corner of her eye, not a tear of sadness but a tear of acknowledgement and gratefulness for the life she had compated to other people, she knew she was lucky. She knew that Ryuu was her best friend in the whole world, like the big brother she always wanted, but she never thought he could be this sincere towards her as he wrapped his arm around her. "Thanks Ry" she smiled as she looked up at him as another involuntary tear rolled from her other eye. " I really do love you" she laughed a little as she wiped away her tear with the side of her hand She wanted to perk herself up and enjoy her day out to the mall and when Ryuu mentioned baby clothes she perked right up and a broad smile crossed her face. "Yeah, baby clothes" she smiled "Why else would I be here?" she laughed

Ryuu bit his lip when she started crying. Fuck, this had been a bad idea. “I’m sorry I didn’t- ” he blurted out, but she cut him off. Smiling, he pulled her into a hug, and wiped her eyes carefully with the sleeve of his shirt so her makeup wouldn’t run. “Gosh, silly. Why are you crying? Do I need to get out the instabush seeds already?” he laughed, squeezing her shoulder slightly. When Holly told him she loved him, he felt all fuzzy. Not like…Romantic fuzzy, just really warm and happy. “That’s good to know,” he smiled, feeling shy about saying it back. Heavens knew why. It was really awkward hugging Holly now, she was so big. It was weird; he’d never seen Claire past four months, so his idea of pregnancy was horrifically disjointed. Ryuu grinned when she perked up, that was good. He let go of her, and shoved the picture back in his pocket, and they left the shop. He suddenly didn’t feel like buying any clothes for himself, so he’d gladly buy stuff for Holly. “Oh, and if you want anything from Hollister, just tell me. I’ve got an employee’s discount,” he grinned, although he doubted they did baby clothes in there. “Not that you’ll be able to buy anything for yourself for at least another two years,” he laughed. If there was one thing Ryuu had done to help when he still lived in Dijon, it was spending the little money he earned (and hadn’t spent on coke or petrol) went to Claire. But that supply was obviously cut off when he left to live in California with his uncle. Ryuu sighed, stepping round a rampaging toddler that wasn’t looking where it was going. He knew he was just using Holly as his replacement Claire. A kind of way to regain his lost karma, if you believed in that sort of thing. He often wondered if it was wrong, but he never did anything about it because, quite frankly, he didn’t care.
