The darkness pressed down on him from all sides, trying to down him, trying to kill him. He struggled against it, bringing the cigarette to his lips again, drawing deeply. The cocaine fumes flooded his lungs, suffocated him and brought him down further and further. Coughing, he stumbled on a loose paving slab; the cigarette fell from his violently shaking hands. Unable to think straight - his thoughts oozed like black tar - and his limbs leaden and unresponsive, he sat down on the wall at the edge of the beach. Bending down to rest his head between his knees, Jay breathed deeply, trying to push back the growing nausea in his stomach. His whole body was shaking violently, his joints ached and his head throbbed like his brain was swelling, trying to shatter through his skull and escape the horrors that lay inside. The fearsome truth, the plan he was going to complete, the promises he’d made himself. It was the end, the end of Jay Farr. The sound of footsteps brought him back from semi-consciousness, and he wearily raised his head, eyes unable to pick out the source of the noise, his vision swimming. The night seemed too bright, shapes all blazing and blurring into one another, yet still matted and grey. It was like a photograph with the saturation turned down, but the contrast too high. Standing up with legs like sacks of sand, he took a cumbersome step forwards, his grip tightening on the kitchen knife he held. He spotted her again. Yes. There was Holly, swollen belly making her look even smaller, out of proportion. His eyes narrowed, and he twisted the knife handle in his hand, moving slowly towards her. She was walking away from him, and he crept up as silently as he could muster, hoping the aura of his ever burning anger would alert her to him. Or maybe that was just the reek of alcohol and cocaine smoke.

Holly had been invited to a beach party by one of her friends that she hadn't seen in ages so it was only natural for her to want to go. She had met loads of new people at the party and she had a great time and she didn't want to leave but she had to eventually as it was almost one in the morning and she had school the next day. Clad in her pink tunic top and jeans with her polka dot ballet shoes she walked from the party after saying goodbye to her old and new friends. She decided to walk back to her dorm, it wasn't that far anyway and she felt happy enough to walk home by herself, she would be home soon anyway. She didn't like the dark though so she decided to pick up her pace, it would get her home faster and she wanted to phone PJ and tell him how much of a great time she had. She felt a bit cold too so she wrapped her hands across her shoulders, she wanted to get home quickly. She began to walk faster, she would have liked to have jogged or ran but she couldn't because of her baby, she didn't want to shake all over the place while in her tummy. She had strange feeling as she walked down the boardwalk as if somebody was following her but she thought it was stupid to think like that, who else would would be out at this time of night? She continued to walk with this strange feeling that she was definetly being followed, but who would want to follow her? she stopped for a moment and turned fully around and looked at the scence in front of her, well it wasn't much of a scence considering it was pitch black outside, only with the lighting of the streetlights. She swore she saw somebody not too far from her but she thought it was silly, she new she was imagining things, her mind playing tricks on her because that's what she expected to see, but she knew that there was nobody there, was there?

As Holly speed up, Jay hesitated slightly. Did she know he was following her? He stumbled again, and speed up to match her pace. His legs were clumsy and felt numb, pins and needles setting in from the lack of oxygen in his blood, the alcohol and drugs mixing into a deadly concoction. She stopped, and his muscles seized up. As she turned, he thought about running, but he could hardly even think, let alone make himself move. After a few moments, he strode forwards casually, swinging his arms slightly like you did naturally as you walked. He stopped a meter away, and raised the knife slowly, the light from a near by street lamp slid down the silvery blade like liquid. “Hello, baby” his voice was too controlled, too well spoken. He was like a robot, his eyes cold and emotionless, his body stiff. He stepped forwards again, and round her, like he was going to pass her by. Slowly and evenly, he turned and stood behind her, slowly lifting up the back of her shirt, and touching the point of the knife between her shoulder blades. He pushed it in a fraction of a millimetre, just enough to draw a tiny drop of blood. Leaning close, he brushed his lips against her jaw, “Don’t scream,” he whispered, his breath stank of vodka and smoke, as he ran the tip of the knife down her back. His mind was racing, the blood in his veins throbbing hard. Surely the pressure would burst them at any moment. A car raced past, but it was going too fast to see them, but still Jay panicked, and he jabbed the small of her back with the knife, drawing more blood. He hadn’t planned on that. Shit, she was going to run now. He dropped her shirt, and pulled her into a choke hold, holding her so close he could almost feel himself melting into her. “Such a shame, such a shame. What a waste,” he murmured, pressing the point of the knife to her swollen belly. Although he would love to, he just couldn’t bring himself to pierce the flesh there. It’d be so easy, just push it in a few centimetres and the unborn child was history…yet…He sighed, moving the knife to hold it in her view. “Want to hurt me s’more? Go on, you’ll love it,” he hissed acidly, tilting the blade so it flashed against the moon. Slowly, hands shaking slightly, he brought the knife down, and pushed it into her hand, curling his hand around hers. Her flesh felt warm against his icy skin, and he gripped it hard. Moving her hand with the knife in it, he brought the knife to rest the point in the dip behind her left collar bone, steadying himself to plunge the blade into her flesh. His heart was pulsing so hard and fast he felt he would pass out, stars flickering at the edge of his sight.

Holly was ready to forget her silly theory about somebody following her and she turned around to start walking back to her dorm or PJ's dorm, which ever she stumbled upon first. She had one last quick look behind her shoulder when she saw somebody approach her. She was a bit surprised to see Jay behind her, she hadn't seen him in a long time and she wasn't exactly happy to see him and when she seen he had a knife on him she became a little scared. She knew that he was just trying to look like a big man, trying to impress people like he always did. She wanted to walk away from him and just ignore him but when he came directly up behind her she could smell the drink off of him, it was disgusting. When he refered to her as baby she felt like shouting at him and telling him to go away and leave her alone and that she wasn't his baby anymore. She tried to walk away but she felt him lift her shirt from the back and she felt a cold sharp prick between her shoulder blades, she didn't know what to think, although after a second that cold sharp feeling became more painful and she wanted to cry, she knew that couldn't be good and that it would have something to do with the blade she saw him with a minute ago. and when she felt him brush his lips against her jaw she wanted to turn around and smack him across the face. When her whispered for her not to scream she was frozen with fear, she didn't know what he would try. She tried to move her legs but they were firmly stuck to the ground, unwilling to move. She felt that cold sharp pain again but it travelled the whole way down her spine. She wanted to scream but nothing came out but a small whimper. She saw a car flash by and she wanted to scream for it or run for it or something, she knew she needed help. Although, as the car disappeared slightly she felt the same pain in her back but it was worse this time, she didn't know what he had done to her but she knew it wasn't anything good. She felt a little faint but she knew she had to stay alert and look out for anybody that could help her from him. The pain in her back got slowly more piercing and she wanted to scream but she didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was causing her to feel like this. She tried to run away from him but she was pulled back as he put his arm around her small frame, she didn't stand a chance against him. She heard him saying something about a shame, she couldn't understand what he was talking about but when he held his knife to her stomach she couldn't imagine what he would do, she prayed beyond anything that he didn't do what she thought he wanted to do, it would be the end of her world if she lost her baby. She started to cry, it was all she could do in this situation. "Jay, just please leave me alone" she muttered quietly through sobbing tears She heard him say something to her but she didn't really listen, the sharp bleeding feeling she had in her back became worse and she just wanted to fall to the floor. She looked up in front of her in hope that somebody else that was out that could help her but she couldn't say anything or anybody. She saw him bring his arm around in front of her shining the blade in front of her that was already stained with her blood. She began to cry further, she didn't want things to be this way. She thought she was happy in her life now with little 'Coli on the way and the sparkling diamond ring she had on her left hand. Although she didn't know much longer her ring was going to last when she screamed as loud as she could when she felt him plunge the side of his blade into her left hand, she had never felt anything like it before, it was so painful she thought she would collapse but she just kept on screaming. She knew he was probably satisfied with himself for doing this to her, he was probably laughing as she screamed. She felt him curl his own hand around hers as he kept the side of the knife in her hand. She felt like she could hardly breathe and her breath was shaky and delirious as she shivered from the cold and her panic and fear. She felt him take the knife from her hand and she brought her hand up to see whatt he had done. She had a massive slash across her hand that was bleeding profusely as the blood ran down her wrist and to the tips of her fingers and probably into a puddle onto the ground and she knew her ring was ruined as the diamond was no longer clear and sparkly, it was covered in her blood, the whole ring was. She saw him bring his blade up near her shoulder and she didn't know what to think. She was frozen with fear and she could hardly complete a comprehendable sentence, she just continued to cry and emit short whimpers and the smallest scratchy screams that nobody could hear. As she became more aware of herself she could feel the smallest but sharp pain in her stomach but she just thought that it was just a strange reaction to what had happened to her but that pain got a little sharper over the coming seconds and she held her right hand to her stomach as she bent over a little.

Screams ripped through the air, and he flinched back. She was screaming. She was screaming, fuck. He had to make this quick, or someone would come looking. Someone would notice she wasn’t back yet, and he was sure PJ wouldn’t leave her alone for more than an hour. The thought of the Italian boy made his anger flare up again, and his choke hold tightened, feeling the vibrations of her sobbing screams against his tattooed, scarred forearm. His scars…yes…he’d open them again soon. He didn’t want to live with the knowledge that he’d killed this girl. This beautiful young girl that had once been his. He’d dumped her, yes, but he regretted it. That was why he’d gotten back together with her. But then she betrayed his hard won trust by going off with that Liam bloke. Jay had never felt so heart broken. It had felt like his chest was being ripped open and his heart eaten out. He shuddered, just the thought of that emotional pain made him recoil in disgust. The warm, sticky feeling of blood on his hand felt good. It felt sickening. He felt bile burning the back of his throat, but he refused to show weakness. The diamond ring on her finger was blooded now, and he knew it was ruined beyond repair. Good. PJ wouldn’t be able to keep it now. Who in their right mind would keep the blooded ring of their dead fiancé? Jay sighed softly, wishing he could apologize for everything. But it wasn’t worth it. He wouldn’t be around for much longer. As soon as this was done…He bit his lip so hard it started to bleed, and he moved his arm down to wrap round her waist, holding her bleeding hand. Her blood felt good, running over his skin. Pulling her close to his body, her screams dieing to pathetic, scratchy sounds, he closed his eyes tight. Unable to think, unable to move, he squeezed the handle of the knife, pressing it lightly on her flesh, not even breaking the skin. With his free hand, he took her bleeding hand, and brought it up to the knife’s handle. Carefully, he wrapped it round the black plastic, which was becoming slick with her blood already. He held her hand onto the knife tightly, hoping it’d hurt her. He hoped she’d just die from pain, never mind blood loss. “You didn’t listen, did you? You never did. Take love and swear,” he plunged the knife into her shoulder with her own hand, “That you’ll never love again.” He was shaking. Blood was oozing from her shoulder at a ghastly rate. He didn’t let go of her hand, making her hold the knife in her own flesh. His breathing was strained, and he felt his legs begin to shake. Twisting the knife, he pulled it out sharply, and kicked the back of her knees, shoving her to the ground. “Thanks for the memories,” he muttered, and turned away, the point of his blooded knife poised over his wrist.

Holly continued to emit shaky shivering cries but they were slowly dying as he throat became even more hoarse, she felt like her throat was bleeing on the inside it hurt that much, she wouldn't be surprised if it was. She just wished she had left the party earlier then this would have never have happened, she wished that somebody would come and help her but there was nobody around that she could see which made her even more helpless than she thought at first and she knew that there was no chance in heaven that she was getting away from this any time soon. She had never been so scared in her life and the threatening pain in her stomach made her worry slightly but it was nothing compared to the pain her in hand. Although, the pain in her hand increased ten-fold that her eyes rolled back when he grabbed her bleeding hand and pressed her gash against the handle of the blade as he pressed it against her shoulder. She could no longer scream, she had no voice left. That's when she felt a huge sharp pain in her stomach, she knew something was wrong with 'Coli and she didn't know what or anything, she had never experienced having a child before so she didn't know what too look out for or what to feel but something told her that this wasn't good. She wanted to double over in her pain but she heard Jay shout something, although she didn't understand what he said, it sounded like jibberish to her. That's when she felt it and did she feel it. She felt her own hand, wrapped around the knife and held in place by Jay's larger hand. The pain in her shoulder, the scream of her skin she felt. She had litteraly never been so pettrified in her entire life, this wasn;t how things were supposed to be. She felt as if she had stabbed herself but she knew that wasn't true, she wasn't that stupid. She thought that she had no voice left but she was wrong. She emitted the loudest scream she thought anybody could ever produce as Jay had twisted the knife that he held inside her shoulder. She knew this must be the end for her, maybe 'Coli was never meant to be and that she was never to be married to PJ. She never even got to say goodbye properly to PJ and she knew she regretted it. Why did she have to go to this silly party in the first place? She felt him pull the knife from her and kick her behind her legs and she fell to the ground with a loud crash as she hit her head off the conrete sidewalk. That was the last thing she had noticed before blackness consumed her. She knew she was as good as dead anyway. What a waste of beauty.

Maxxie was on his way back from a nearby party, and seeing as he grew up in the town of Bristol, England, he wasn't technically able to drive, therefore he'd decided to take the scenic routa back to Watson Academy. His hands were stuffed in his baggy blue jeans, as he walked along the shore, the wind was picking up and he could feel the cold from beneath his thick green hoodie. The sound of waves hitting the sea wall and the heavy winds were all that could be heard along the dark road that ran parallel to the beach. That was until the near silence was shattered by piercing screams which sounded too familiar for Maxxie's liking. From where he stood in the dark it sounded as if someone was either being murdered or raped, picking up his pace Max headed towards the painful screams. As he got nearer the sound seemed to decrease, and he could just about see, in the distance, a small figure lying flat out on the concrete.
"Fuck!" He muttered to himself, as he sped up, and without realising began to run, and as he got closer things weren't looking up. The blonde hair that was sprawled across the ground reminded him far too much of Holly. Coming to a stop on his knees, his skin grazing against the hard concrete beneath them, he started to panic. It was Holly. Who in there right mind could do this? She didn't deserve this, and neither did her baby.
"Shit. Shit. Shit..." Maxxie yelled, as he looked around nervously, what the hell was he supposed to do. Placing one hand on her shoulder; which was soaked in what looked like blood, he shook her as hard as he could. "Holly.. Holly you have to wake up!" He cried, panicking. His hands were shaking as he fumbled in his jeans for his cell phone, she couldn't be dead. She just couldn't. Typing in the three numbers as quickly as he could, Maxxie explained through worried sobs what he thought had happened, glancing over his shoulders anxiously incase whoever was behind this, was still around.
ooc; meh. i cant even be bothered to read this through and see if it makes sense. o.o

Holly had been lying there for a good ten minutes or so in a small pool of her own blood, completely unconcious, aware of nothing around her. She didn't even know if anybody had found her yet, she couldn't feel anything, she was numb. However, she began to feel the dull pain that was in her stomach now, it was a dull pain to her now but she knew it would increase the more she became more conscious. She knew before she fell to the ground that something was wrong with her baby, he wasn't ment to come for at least another ten weeks or so yet it felt like he wanted to come now, impatient little thing. She knew that it wasn't really her fault though, she had read that stress can trigger her baby to come earlier and she had never been so stressed or scared as she had ever been in her life, tonight. She felt herself slowly coming back to reality when she heard her name being shouted or that's what she thougth anyway. She was delirious and she could feel the pain in her hand again and she let out a slow and quiet scratchy whimper, she couldn't manage anything else and even that hurt her to do so. She knew that something had happened to her shoulder but she didn't know or understand what but she couldn't feel anything in her shoulder, maybe that part of her was still to wake up or maybe her body had shut off the pain receptors in order to protect itself. She felt something or somebody shaking her shoulder and calling her name at the same time, she still couldn't grasp that they were shouting for her though. She knew it must be Jay or somebody, looking to come back for more- to finish her off. She felt like she had passed anyway, she knew this must be hell, nothing else could feel like this. but what had she done to deserve hell? She had been a kind, sweet , loving teenage girl that would do anything for anybody and who was always laughing and giggling and she loved life far more than others. She heard mumbling, a painced mumbling- she didn't know who it was though, she was still half out of it. She hoped that somebody had found her- she felt like she had been lying here for an eternity. She finally became conscious enough to build the strength to open her eyes slightly but everything looked like a blur to her from what she could see which wasn't a lot. That's when she felt a massive pain in her abdomen, she had never felt anything like it and it gave her the courage and strenght to slowly reach her good hand to the side of her stomach. It felt like her sides were squashing together everytime she felt that horrible pain and she didn't like it one bit. She looked to her side with one of her eyes not really wanting to see Jay come back for another shot at her- she was surprised that he didn't just completely finish her off, she was half way there anyway. Although, even through blurry vision, she could see it was boy next to her, a blonde haired boy. The only boy she knew that was her friend with blonde hair was Maxxie, she so hoped it was him or somebody, anybody to have found her-she didn't think she'd last much longer. She felt sick and faint from her blood loss, from her back, hand, shoulder, head and the forever increasing pain in her stomach made want to scream but she had alsolutely no voice left from her screaming. She looked to her side again, hoping to get a clearer picture but nothing much happened. "Max" she mumbled incoherently She didn't even know if she had thought of the right person, she was just glad that somebody was there, somebody had found her and that maybe she wasn't going to die afterall.

The ambulance was on its way. Thats what he was told, and he dropped his phone beside him, not even caring if the screen smashed. He put one of his hands to her neck, she was freezing cold and he couldn't find her pulse. He had always been useless at first aid. "Shit.. Holly, stay awake, don't you dare fall asleep" He warned. She had to be fine; she was going to be fine.Maxxie could see, even in the dark, that she was bleeding still, and she was bleeding a lot for that matter. It looked like she had been stabbed, more than once. But by who, he couldn't work this out, it seemed that there was nobody around. He bent over her, trying to work out how he could move her into a more comfortable position, if that was even possible. The pain she was going through was probably unbearable. Her faint voice mumbled his name, and he nodded, unaware she couldn't see him properly. "Yes, its me Holz" He replied, trying to sound confident, but he couldn't contain his fright, she was so weak.
"Where are you hurt?" He asked shakily, "Holly who the fuck did this to you..." He said, trailing off, as he hauled her up gently from her unwounded shoulder, and moving her hair out of the way, half of it covered in her own blood; it wasn't a pretty sight. He knew she was not in a state to talk to him properly, but he wanted to know how bad this actually was. He wasn't even sure if she could hold out until the ambulance got here. Maxxie wouldn't be able to live with himself; even though none of this was his fault. She had to recover.
ooc;; meh (:

Holly continued to lie in her state of nausea, she couldn't understand anything going on around her and she didn't know if she wanted to know either. She didn't know if she was dead either, but that was something she definetly didn't want to know. She couldn't tell either way, was she dead or just on her way there?, she was yet to see 'the white light' so she guessed not. She didn't want to go though, she had too much live for. She wanted to live for little 'Coli. She wanted to be his mommy. She wanted to hear the first time her would call her mommy and she wanted to be there when he took his first steps, she didn't know if she would be there much longer to do any of that. She could hear the person she presumed to be Maxxie shouting something at her but she was half unconscious and she couldn't understand it. Although she did hear and understand when she heard the person confirm they were Maxxie and she felt a bit relieved that she now knew who it was that was beside her. She then felt Maxxie pick her up gently off of the ground where she had been lying too long for her liking but it wasn't as if she could just pick herself up again. She had never felt so vulnerable in her life, she felt so weak and helpless and there was nothing she could do about it. Although, when he picked her up she felt that same horrible uncomfortable pain in her stomach again, she didn't know what it meant and she paniced a little. Despite that though, it was nothing compared to the pain she felt in her shoulder and hand. Although she really couldn't tell if the pain was coming from there, she had almost forgotten about the slash down the middle of her back. She really couldn't tell where the pain was coming from, it was all just one big excruciation. She felt herself lying against the short wall that lined the outskirt of the beach, next to the sand. She opened her tear soaked red and puffy eyes and looked up at Maxxie, although her glistening eyes were hollow and misleading with no emotion in them, they were as lifeless as she felt. She was going to try to say something but that's when she felt the sharp pain in her stomach again. She wanted to cry but she knew her body was in too much shock for it to care about crying. She took a sharp an shaky breath which hurt too much. She brought her blooded hand up to her protuding stomach and left it there, creating a blooded handprint on her tshirt and there was only one tiny spot on her ring that still sparkled, maybe that was a representation that she was going to be okay, that there was still a glimmer of hope. She hadn't even told anybody yet about her agreeing to marry PJ, she wanted to tell everybody at once and she hadn't had the chance yet. She felt another sharp pain that felt as if 'Coli had kicked the daylight out of her but she knew he himself couldn't have done that and she let out the smallest whimper. "Coli...." she whispered She took another sharp, ragged breath and she felt a cold sharp pain in her back where her cut was, she hadn't felt that in what felt like a long time. It was so painful that her eyes rolled almost to the back of her head but she brought herself back to her half conscious reality when she felt yet another pain in her stomach and she let out two of the smallest crystal clear tears from her right eye.

Post by Ryuu James on Mar 26, 2008 16:42:34 GMT -5
Head pounding and his body buzzing with energy, Ryuu left the crush of Club Sierra. It was two in the morning, and he was exhausted. And completely smashed. He had to walk home, he was in no fit state to drive, but he didn’t mind as the sea air rushing in over the beach cleared his head. Walking slowly - and slightly unsteadily - he walked down the promenade, listening to the gentle crash of waves as they rolled against the beach in whatever act of love they perused. The stench of salt and sea weed made his mind empty, even of his slightly drunken stupor. The sound of a scream shattered the peace, and Ryuu froze. Eyes wide, he felt himself grow cold as the screaming died into scratchy sobs, a distant voice. The scream renewed, louder than he’d ever thought possible for someone to scream. It echoed off the buildings nearby, the road, it seemed it even echoed off the sky, ringing in his ears and making his heart race. Breathing shallow with fear, he broke into a run. He didn’t know which direction the scream had come from, but he had to find them. He had to help. Tripping on a loose paving slab, he went flying and landed hard on his front. “Fuck,” he hissed, picking himself up again stiffly, feeling his chin. It felt badly bruised, but there was no time to worry about himself. He’d spotted someone slumped against a wall, with another person crouched beside them. A siren could be heard wailing in the distance.
Ryuu walked slowly closer. He recognized the two people now, and he felt utterly sick. There was a pool of blood on the floor, and Holly’s hair and shirt were saturated with it. Maxxie looked like he was about to pass out from fear. He stopped, and sat down on the wall, touching his hand to Maxxie’s shoulder. “Max…what happened?” he breathed. He was shaking so violently that his voice wavered unsteadily, like he was going to cry. Rubbing his face in his hands, he tried to gather his scattered thoughts. What had happened to her? Why had someone stabbed Holly, of all people? And where were they? He stood up, and paced slightly, looking wrought with stress. The sirens were growing closer. “I guess you called the ambulance then,” he said. It was more of a statement than a question, and his voice was soft and monotone. Ryuu was too shocked for emotion. Unable to stay still, he crouched down in front of Holly, kneeling in a patch of blood. He reached out and carefully wiped away the tears from her eyes. “Holly, sweet, can you hear us? It’s Ryuu, and Maxxie,” he said softly, his hands shook and he brushed the side of her face, pushing away hair congealed with tacky, rusty coloured blood. Ryuu hated seeing this, it was disgusting. Someone had purposefully come and done this to Holly, and they needed to pay dearly for it. He saw her hand on her stomach, and as he looked it shrunk slightly in the most peculiar way. Staring for a moment, he tried to figure it out. Then it hit him with the force of a wall of water. “Fuck…was…is that a contraction?” he sounded bemused. He knew a bit about birth and that crap, thanks to a prenatal class he’d been forced to attend for a few weeks (before he buggered off to California). This was definitely not good news. He counted the weeks in his head quickly, and his stomach turned to ice. “That’s bad. That’s very, very bad,” he muttered, racking his brains, trying to think of something - anything - he could do to help. The sirens were so close he could feel it ringing in his ears, but they weren’t in sight. It was like the world was moving in slow motion and he was going slower.

With so much going on, or the impact of something so serious made Maxxie unable to think straight; he had no clue whatsoever what to do. He was panicking with himself, what would happen to Holly, and Nicoli now? From Holly’s slow actions, he could tell she felt lifeless, and her facial expressions portraying her sudden pain were unwatchable, he grabbed her bloodied hand gently as she whimpered, placing his warm fingers around her frozen limp ones. She was so weak that even her screams and whimpers were faint and distant. Her stomach was hurting, something had happened to her baby. “H-holly… what about him? What do you feel?” Maxxie asked, pronouncing his words as clear and as slowly as he could, so she could understand without too much difficulty. The loss of blood would not be helping her reactions.
Why did this have to happen? They were at the same party, he should have offered to walk her back, but no he was too preoccupied in the hot looking DJ. Now this had happened, and the outcome was far far from terrible. The sound of an ambulance made everything seem more hopeful, they were nearly here. Everything was going to be fine.
The sound of footsteps behind them made Maxxie jump; he’d completely forgotten his surroundings, and a rush of fear and anger fled through him. Maybe the attacker was back. Shit. It was only Ryuu, and Maxxie seemed to sigh with relief without realizing. “I heard her scream” He said, trying to sort out the muddled jumble inside his head, “She was collapsed on the floor, I don’t know how many times she’s been stabbed” He explained slowly, his voice timid, but every time he thoughts turned pessimistic he pushed himself to believe everything would be fine. “Who is twisted enough to do this to her?” Maxxie mumbled to himself, as Ryuu bent down beside him and the injured Holly.
“Contraction?’ the sound of shock was in Maxxies voice, of course he knew what it was, but it surely couldn’t be happening. Not now. Holly was in a fragile state as it was. He glanced at Ryuu, but turned back to Holly. Still holding her hand, he helped her up into a better sitting position, whilst telling her to keep focused, and not to fall asleep. “What the fuck are we supposed to do?” He said, the question directed at the Ryuu rather than Holly.

Holly wanted to be able to understand what was going on around her but her body was in too much shock to even begin to notice anything or respond much to anything. She wanted to be able to try and make herself stand up or something but she knew that that idea was out of context for her situation and she just didn't have the strength to be able to do that either. She felt even weaker as the minutes seconds went by and she didn't know how much longer she could hold on, she felt like giving up the ghost already. What's the point in fighting something that will eventually overtake you anyway? She knew she was as good as dead by the way she felt, maybe this was just the impasse with no way to escape? She knew she couldn't give up hope though, she just had to think about all the good things in life that she didn't want to miss. She didn't want to miss feeling like a real Princess when she got married to PJ. She always smiled when she thought of him, she had never loved or been infatuated with somebody ever before as much as him and she wanted to be with him forever and she hoped he felt the same way, but would she ever get to find out? She heard Maxxie ask her if something was wrong, as he grabbed her hand, because she had said her baby's name. She didn't know if something was actually wrong, it was just something she had never felt before and she didn't like it at all and if it was what she thought, a far gone conclusion she didn't want to even think about. "It hurts" she managed to say a little bit louder than she had said anything a moment ago. Maybe her subconscious was telling her to fight this, that she couldn't give up because she could fight it. She began to feel her head fall again and her eyes close again, she didn't want to fall back into complete unconsciousness but she felt like she was being pulled back again from reality into a despair of blackness and she didn't want that. She was thankful though when she heard the very faint footsteps get slowly louder but still faint, to her. She looked up slightly and saw her best friend in the whole world, her new big brother who always looked out for her and cared for her like she cared for him. She had never been unhappy or upset, she didn't think, in front of Ryuu and she didn't want to start now and tried to admit the smallest, weakest half a smile she could manage in her condition. She wanted him to think that she wasn't as bad as she looked, even with the pool of blood around them and her pink tshirt now a horrible rusty red colour. She heard him ask if she could hear them. She could hear them, it just sounded faded and distant to her. They sounded to her as she felt to the rest of the world. She looked up at him as she felt him touch the side of her face with his hand. She was grateful that he and Maxxie were here for her, she didn't have to be alone for what she thought were the last moments of her happy life. And that's when she felt it again, another contraction hit her and she wanted to double over in her pain but she could hardly move as it was and she knew this wasn't a good thing, he wasn't meant to come for around another two or three months at least. She felt like giving up all hope, she didn't understand why her body was still fighting this and why it hadn't given up yet because she wanted to give up now. She couldn't stand the pain any longer and she just wanted to give up and make it go away. That's when she felt herself being pulled up again, slightly, into a proper sitting position. She wanted to scream out loud, but had no voice left to scream.Placing her into that position made the slash on her back hurt and sting even more and she couldn't find the energy to even make it clear that she was in more pain than she had been before. That's when she heard a distant noise of a siren. She knew that somebody had called an ambulance or something, she didn't see the point though, she knew she was broken beyond repair- mind and body, she would never be able to leave her house or her dorm again. She just wanted her mom and dad with her just now and Aaron if he wasn't such a stupid ass about everything she did. Although, she thought there may be hope for her when she heard the sirens. Maybe she could be saved after all?, she didn't know how much longer she could last though. She knew that they would be here soon and she wanted to give into the mind numbing unconsciousness that threatened every thought and movement she made. She heard the ambulance pull up and stop at the other side of the road and the slam the the ambulance door was the last thing she heard before she let go again. She left her head fall to the side and her eyes closed again, encouraging unconsciousness to overtake her.

Nodding thoughtfully as Maxxie spoke, he stood up again, trying desperately to think straight. His mind was clouded with alcohol, and he wished so badly that he hadn’t drunk as much as he had. Pressing his fingers into his temples, he tried to clear his growing headache. Holly had been stabbed. It was all he could think, every fibre of his being was vibrating with that one sentence. The name Jay sprung to mind, but Ryuu shook it away. Not even Jay Farr was this twisted…was he? Maxxie repeated him with a tone of incredulity, and Ryuu felt himself get angry. Taking deep breaths, he tried to calm himself down, it wasn’t Maxxie’s fault. He couldn’t get angry. “Dude, do you think I listened to how to get a baby out of a woman’s whatever when I was 16?!” he snapped, twining his fingers together and running them over his head, looking up at the sky.
Muttering under his breath, he swore in relief when the ambulance finally arrived, screeching to a halt on the other side of the road. The back doors swung open, and a small team of paramedics leapt out, carrying a stretcher and a small bag of vital equipment. One of the paramedics glared at Ryuu, he was an extra part of this they hadn’t been told about so he was instantly a pain in the arse. Which he was anyway, but we won’t go there. “Her pulse is very high,”
[/i] muttered a female paramedic as she knelt down and pressed her finger to Holly’s neck expertly. Another paramedic knelt down the other side and carefully pealed off her shirt, inspecting the wound on her shoulder with a look of disgusted fury. “Kids these days…Hey, you. Do you know her name?”[/i] he said to Ryuu. Ryuu nodded, “Holly,” the paramedic kept looking at him, and Ryuu looked blank. He realised after a few moments “Oh! Holly Kennedy,” he added, feeling like a total ass. He was drunk, shocked and stressed out. All three were slowing down his thought process more than usual. They lifted Holly onto a stretcher, and gave her a shot of adrenaline before patching up her shoulder temporarily and carrying her over to the ambulance. Ryuu grabbed Maxxie’s wrist and dragged him along after the paramedics. “Can we ride along?” Ryuu asked as they loaded her in. The paramedics looked at each other, before one of them sighed and nodded. Clambering into the vehicle, Ryuu and Maxxie were pointed towards a couple of small chairs right at the edge of the van. Ryuu sat down, and started tapping his feet nervously as the paramedics did what they needed to do with Holly. Ryuu didn’t know exactly what they were doing, because he didn’t dare look. The ambulance had started up again, and its wails were almost deafening inside. Ryuu could feel the sharp turns in his belly, which was bad because he felt quite sick now. He was just waiting for the part when one of them would look up, and turn and say “We did all we could,” in a really sombre voice and look all sorry. Ryuu bit his lip, and pulled out his mobile, sending a quick voice message to PJ. It seemed like the longest car journey of his life. [/center][/sup]

As Holly closed her eyes, Maxxie’s own heartbeat sped up, “Holly, stay awake, you have to stay awake okay…” He said, not even sure if she could hear him. He glanced nervously at Ryuu, who looked as panicked as him, this was one of the worst things that could happen. He stayed beside Holly, on his grazed knees and didn’t retaliate to Ryuu’s snappy comment, no normal conversation could be held at this moment, not even an argument. The atmosphere was stiff and scary, as if the dark night sky above them was about to crash down on top of the three people, or two remaining. That’s what it felt like.
Thankfully the ambulance arrived, and the loud sounds of the siren jeered Maxxie out of his daydream nightmare, everything was going to be fine. Eyes sick with worry he followed the movements of the paramedics and watched what they were doing to her wounds, he didn’t even feel the touch when Ryuu grabbed his wrist. He found himself sitting next to him in the back of the ambulance, Holly was lying on a stretcher in front of the two, and the paramedic had his back to them. Maxxie didn’t feel like saying anything, there was nothing to say, all they could do was wait, he thought of PJ as he noticed Ryuu get out his phone to call him, he would be feeling much worse than him and Ryuu when he got that message.
The ambulance was speeding, and the blue light flashed on and off on the windows reflection. Finally after what seemed a century of silence, the ambulance came to a halt, and the paramedic turned to talk to the two. “We’re going to take Holly straight in” He said calmly. The sound of his voice was making Maxxie uncomfortable and he was highly annoyed that this young man was acting as if nothing bad had happened, and there was nothing to worry about. Maxxie had seen how badly she was hurt, how much blood she had lost, all they could do was hope, because Holly hadn’t come back to consciousness. He nodded, thinking it was best to be polite or whatever, and was told by the paramedic “I’m afraid you too will have to wait in reception, when we know the full… situation, we’ll let you know” The driver had got out along with the other female paramedic, and they both began to prepare the stretcher, so it could be wheeled out of the van. “Are you related to Miss Kennedy? Either of you?” he asked.
