Little Miss Amber Peyton always runs out of things to say, which leads to her cheeks becoming a deep shade of red. And it’s usually at the worst of times too. Like when she’s trying to impress a very cute guy, or with a new person of whom she’s never met before. She doesn’t really like social events, but will go to them, if dragged there. Amber isn’t like most high school females who can flutter her eyelashes and expect that certain someone to fall head over heels from them. Oh no. It’s a miracle if Amber has the nerve to say ‘Hello’ to a hottie.
{. loyal.}
But if you do get past Amber’s inability to talk in the correct moments, you can become her friend. Now, that’s an honor, because Amber is pretty loyal. She can’t remember a time when she stabbed a friend in the back. Sure, the girl has lied, but who hasn’t? She will always be by your side, no matter what. Amber’s a pretty good friend, if you ask me.
{. over- emotional .}
Like every female, Amber does an emotional side. But, she cries and throws her cell phone on the ground more then most people do. She was just always like that, since birth. If Amber ever starts to cry, grab a box of tissues or two, she’ll be in great need of them. And if you dare to get Amber angry, please, do yourself a favor, and run. Far away, and fast. She’ll scream and throw things. Which is never a pretty sight. And she’ll cry which leads to ruined make-up and a blotchy face. That doesn’t look good on anyone, trust me.
Background:
”It’s a girl!”
“Are you kidding me? I already painted the room blue.”
“Would I kid you, Miss Peyton?”
“Fuck.”
November 16th 1992 was the day that little Amber Leigha Peyton was born into the world, to a mother who was only sixteen, and slightly irresponsible. You see, Amber’s mother, Julie, was a high school Junior when the love of her life, Jonah, got her pregnant in the back of his Ford. Nine months later, Amber popped out and Jonah flew out to Miami, Florida from Vermont. Lucky Julie got to juggle raiseing a baby girl, high school essays and homework and her local job at the mall. Julie’s mother was not impressed by Julie’s lack of mothering and decided to take over raising baby Amber.
Three years later, Amber was a toddling toddler, curious as ever. Julie’s mother, Joyce, sent her sluttish daughter (Joyce’s opinion) to college in Nebraska. She didn’t want Julie around Amber, because she had threatened to kidnap Amber and go off in hiding with her, in search of Jonah. Joyce never wanted this to happen. She wanted the precious brunette cutie to stay with her, at all times. Even if Joyce could never, ever love a child from her slutty daughter and some bastard boy.
But when Amber had finished middle school, her real father had come back into the picture. He was now thirty and had a great paying job as being a Dentist in the Miami area. He had come back to Vermont, in search of his only daughter. He had found her via her Myspace profile. Internet was a dirty thing, half the time.
In the middle of the night, Jonah had broken through a window of Joyce’s home and walked up to Amber’s light blue bedroom. He whispered into her ear, “It’s alright, it’s your Daddy, Amby.” With that, Amber screamed and jumped off her bed. In no more then ten seconds Joyce appeared in Amber’s room.
“What the hell, Jonah?”
"Joyce"
“What the hell are you doing? Just showing up in her life now, fourteen years later?”
“I was sixteen, Joyce. I was immature.”
“No, really?”
“I want to take her to Miami. She can live with me.”
“Jonah, you can’t. She must stay with me.”
“Where’s Julie?”
“In Nebraska somewhere, I sent her there after high school.”
“Oh great. What are you going to do with Amber? Send her off to Ohio in four years.”
“It’s not like I’ve never thought about it. I just don’t want her ending like that whore.”
“Julie was not a whore.”
“What the fuck. What do I care? Take her. You’re her father.”
“Huh, Mom! What’s going on..?”
“Shut up Amber. You’re going to Miami to live with your father.”
“Huh, what? You’re sending me off like an animal. Fuck you.”
Not the easiest way to be shipped off, that’s for sure. Amber had so much crashing down on her, in one night. How could she ever regain her normal, outgoing and cheerful self again? Something like, could kill a person. And the fact that the person who she thought loved her the most sent her off to Florida, was devastating. Amber could trust no one again.
Amber and her father went through many arguments, and nothing resulted in a happy manner. Jonah would slap Amber, telling her that she always wrong, that no one would love her, ever. That she was just an accident. Julie didn’t love her, Joyce didn’t love her and he didn’t love her.
Amber was crushed. She was fourteen. No fourteen year old should go through that much stress and pain.
One day, when Amber was fifteen, Jonah announced that she would be attending a private academy, ten miles away. Amber was thrilled when she found out that she would not have to live with Jonah anymore. Amber started to attend Watson her freshman year.
