Astoria had had enough of sitting around in her empty dormitory, she supposed Avery was either out with her friends or Whit or studying in the library.
She dumped her large black ring binder in her school bag, and slinging it over her shoulders she headed for the Freshman Common Room. Maybe she would at least find some company in there, it was better than having no body to talk to.
She entered the room, and looked around, not noticing anyone who she was particularly friendly with. Sighing she took a seat by the window and began rummaging through her bag.

There is a thin line between, what is good and what is evil, I would tiptoe down that line, but I would feel unstable. My life is a circus, and I am tripping down the tightrope, Well, there is nothing to save me now, I’m falling to the ground. Falling to the ground. Down to the ground
Danni was sat in the Georgian style window - you know, the kind that you can sit in - reading a book. His head was leant against the window pane, his cheek cold against the glass. It had started to rain during the early afternoon, and had continued since then. He wasn’t really concentrating on the book, his mind filled with other things. Special things. Bill. He heard someone come in and glanced up, blushing furiously when he recognized the blazing orange hair of Astoria. He stared fiercely at his book, his fingers digging into the covers. He couldn’t talk to her, he wouldn’t. He breathed slowly and deeply, pushing down his panic.

Astoria pulled out her neat History book, she figured that she should at least try and get some of her homework finished. She fished deeper until she pulled out a blue biro, and opened her exercise book.
As she turned the pages, she looked up to face the window and noticed Danni. She mustn't have been paying attention because she could have sworn he wasn't there before. She smiled shyly, and said, "Hi Danni"
It had been a while since they had talked properly.

Danni frowned when she greeted him, and put down the book, leaning down to get out his iPod. “Hi,” he mumbled, his cheeks still red. He really, really didn’t want to speak to her right now, he wasn’t in the mood. Right now he could really do with a hug, but of course he couldn’t just go hunting the school for Bill for a bloody hug. That was just sad…He frowned again, and put in his head phones, putting on a local band he really liked from back home. He doubted they were still together, but he’d been sort of friends with the drummer. He tapped his foot along to the beat, staring out the window at the rain.

Astoria frowned, he seemed to be either annoyed with her or just wasn't feeling very good today. She wrote the title in her history book and looked up at him.
He had his music on which she took as a sign he definitely didn't want to talk to her, which she didn't really understand. Still frowning slightly, she tried again, "Are you okay?" She asked, knowing it was a stupid question and he obviously wasn't, but thats all she could come up with.

Danni sighed, resisting the temptation to stick his finger up at her or walk off, and took out one head phone. “Yeah…I’m okay,” he smiled faintly. This was a big fat lie of course. Since his talk with Bill, all sorts of things had been churning around in his mind, from Ash to the internet girl and his new found feelings for the eccentric Junior. “Just…thinking,” he mumbled, telling a little bit of the truth. He was worried that Astoria still thought he liked her, which he did, but he didn’t want to have a relationship anymore, which probably wasn’t what she thought.

ooc;; haha the first line well made me LOL. bic;;
Astoria nodded, recognising the tone of his voice, she knew when she wasn't wanted, he wouldn't talk to her properly like this anyway.
She looked away from him, and began writing out a sentence about the Cold War in her neat joined up handwriting. "Oh" She replied, still looking away from him, "You don't sound like your okay" She added honestly, not wanting him to be offended or anything. She knew he obviously didn't want to talk about it, so she continued scribbling down neat lines one after the other, actually afraid to look up at him.

He sighed, and got up, looking like he was going to stalk off back to his dorm. But he didn’t, Danni had more decency than that. He went and sat on the table, opposite Astoria. He gazed at her for some time, mulling over what he was going to say, and finally he just came out with it. “Do you like me?” he asked, and then a deep red blush spread across his face. Better out than in, he supposed.

Astoria almost jumped when she realised he was sitting opposite her, she had been trying to ignore him; she didn't know why. She just felt slightly awkward.
Her writing jogged when he asked her a question, causing her to draw a line right down the page. She sighed, annoyingly and looked up, trying to hide her embarrassment. "What do you mean?" She asked nervously, her voice weak, although she knew exactly what the question meant, she was just to scared to answer.

Danni shrugged “Do you fancy me?” he said, the words catching in his throat as he spoke them.

Astoria definitely knew that by now she was as red as a tomato, but she still tried to hide it, half her hair covering her face. She shrugged, "I guess" She said quietly; was she that obvious. She ripped out the page of history book and hastily began again on a fresh lined page.

Great. Just perfect! This was exactly the answer Danni hadn’t wanted. “Oh…” he muttered, glaring down at the table. This was awkward. He got up, and turned to leave. He remembered the afternoon they’d spent together in his dorm and frowned, what a git he was. Then when they went to the mall, arm in arm. “Just forget I said anything,” he said roughly, and headed for the door, head down.

Astoria frowned, her facial expression hidden by her long orange hair. She sat still for a moment until she realised he'd got up to leave. She stood up and hurried after him, she tucked her hair behind her ears, he face showed she was confused. "Why did you ask?" She said shyly.

Danni froze, and looked at her, his expression unreadable. “I just wanted to know. It was worrying me…” he said, staring awkwardly down at his tattered old converse All Stars. He reached up a hand to untangle his hair from his ear ring, chewing his lip thoughtfully.

"Oh okay" Astoria shrugged, really wishing she hadn't said anything. She guessed her cheeks were still slightly red, and she shuffled her feet nervously. She didn't understand why he was worried, "Why.." She started, and then decided she would leave the question as it was.
