Personality:
Tom Adler is a very laid back person. He is your typical teenage boy in that he enjoys girls, music and parties. Although he's willing to give eneryone a chance, he'll let you know if he doesn't like you, that doesn't happen often though because of his laid back personality. He's not one to care what anyone thinks, he just does what he does. If others don't like it, then they don't have to bother with him.
One of Tom's biggest flaws is that he is what some would call a "man-whore". He'll do just about anything with any girl the offers herself to him. He's not one for relationships and he doesn't believe in love. He thinks is just a bunch of bull. Another thing, is he tends to be slightly moody when it comes to his brother, Bill. No one else really affects him in that way, but if anything happens between Bill and himself, he can go from being his normal emoitionless self to incredibly angry or upset, whatever it is. He tries his best not to show it, but sometimes it comes through.
The only person Tom has ever had a soft spot for is Bill. He doesn't even care about his parents in that way. It scares him at times, and he knows it'd only because they're twins. The two times in his life that he's ever cried, Bill was there. Even though Bill's only 10 minutes younger, Tom constantly feels the need to look out for him and make sure he's alright. He'd kill for him if that's what it came down to, and has gotten into many physical fights as a young child because of people making fun of him. As much as he hates to admit it, he missed Bill the whole time he was in Germany.
Background:
On the 18th of September, 1989, identical twin boys were born into Alice Adler and Oskar Faber's growing family. The unmarried couple had been living in Vienna for the past couple of years and were ecstatic to have children. The boys were named Tom (born ten minutes earlier) and Bill Adler. Less than 6 months later, the family moved from Vienna, Austria to Berlin, Germany. Here, the family of four started a new life. Things were going exceedingly well; Oskar had a well paying job which allowed Alice to stay home with her babies. When the boys were 5, however, Oskar and Alice split. The boys stayed with Alice and she was forced to get a job. Tom hated his father for leaving his mother, and never really managed to forgive him. (Although he put up with the visits, he usually couldn't spend more than a couple hours near the man.)
When the boys were 8, Alice met another man while at work. His name was Marc Bayer. Tom took to him immediately, seeing as Marc knew how and taught Tom to play the guitar. Fast-forward 2 years and you see Alice and Marc getting married. After the marriage, they up and moved to Magdeburg, Germany. Tom was excited for the move. He thought it would be great to make some new friends and, since he was just starting to get to the age where boys have crushes, meet some new girls. He knew his brother was upset, but Tom managed to talk him into and get him excited about the move.
When the boys were 14 Alice and Marc stated that they were moving to America. They were told that they had the choice to go with them or stay with their father. Tom knew right away that he was staying. As much as he hated his father, there was no way in hell he was leaving Germany. He figured he'd just lock himself in his room while he was home or go out with friends in an attempt to limit his time around his father. When Tom announced to his brother that he was staying, they got into a huge argument, the biggest they'd ever had. Tom felt somewhat bad about his decision and he tried to talk Bill into staying, but both boys were standing their ground. He was staying and Bill was going. The day of the flight, as he said goodbye to his brother he cried, it was only a couple tears, but it was obvious. It was only the second time in his life that he'd cried and once again it was his brothers fault.
3 years later, the boys are 17 and Tom's had just about enough of his father. He's managed to get in touch with his mother and made the arrangments to come to Watson academy, even if it was halfway through the year. He'd forced his parents to keep it from Bill, he wanted to surprise him himself.
