Personality:
Jay is a very aggressive, reclusive young man. He puts up a ‘back off’ attitude to all who approach him, and he’s very hard to make friends with. He’s often seen hanging out on his own on street corners drinking. Several times he’s gone out for the night and not come back till the next day because he’d gotten so drunk he fell asleep on a street. If you approach him on a bad day, you’ll defiantly come away with either a very sore ear or a bruise somewhere. He isn’t afraid to hit people if it comes to it, but generally doesn’t go looking for confrontations, preferring to yell or run away from it.
In the past, Jay did a lot of hard drugs, and sometimes he can have a bit of a low patch and turn back to them. Unfortunately, this gets him back onto his addiction, and he’s very week willed about stopping again. He tends to binge on alcohol before he gets as far as to need Drugs, and he has a fear deep in his subconscious of dying from an overdose.
About a week after a binge, he will head out in search of a lovely lady for the night, just to give him a high. Jay is totally straight, and hates questions of his sexuality. Just because he wears eyeliner and black nail polish doesn’t mean he’s gay.
Jay has two great treasures. His motorbike and his tattoos. His motorbike is probably his only true friend, and he will ride it for hours and hours, in any weather. It’s his escape from his life. He’s only ever had a bad fall once, and it taught him to respect the road a bit more, but it never stopped him from riding like a maniac. He hates it when girls ride on the back bitch style with their arms wrapped around him. His bike is his one true love, and hates to share it.
His tattoos are very personal treasures, and not many know the true face of Jay’s body art. His sleeve tattoos are quite ordinary, with the usual animals, skulls and the like, but across his chest - covered by his t-shirt - are some very meaningful ones. He has a tattoo of a snake with a cigarette in its mouth, curled around a kitchen knife and a beer bottle. He had that done after a particularly long binge, where he harmed himself at the end. He has a small cocaine tattoo on his abdomen, nestled in the right curve of his hip bone, that was done after his first stay in re-hab. He has the Chinese symbol for love on the back of his neck, and a pair of tribal style devil wings on his shoulder blades. He has the traditional punk rock love - hate on his knuckles, and likes to wear fingerless gloves to show them off.
To deal with his emotions, Jay usually writes lyrics about how he’s feeling. It’s his favourite creative outlet, and he is a pretty good singer. If you like pop, hip hop or what ever don’t come to him because he’s punk/rock to the end. He’s very good at screamo, and loves to make a lot of noise. He hates being put in the ‘emo’ genre, because he thinks emos are whiny copies of true punk. He’s in a local band, but the group dynamics are a little shaky, and he doubts they will stay together much longer.
Once you do become his friend, he is quite open about things, and likes to talk about anything and everything. From paperclips to his battle with drugs. You name it, he’ll talk about it. He doesn’t mind being asked personal questions, but you have to have shown he can trust you before hand. This doesn’t come easy, as Jay isn’t a very trusting person. If you really get to know Jay, his playful side can creep out of it's hiding place, but be careful or it'll run away for the rest of the week.
As a lover, Jay is very playfull and isn't very serious about it. He'd not very comitted and usually gets bored after about a week or two. However, he's very stuborn and persistant about getting girl's numbers. And you can be sure he'll call you, even if it's just to say he's not interested anymore. Jay would never ever go for a guy, no matter how drunk or desperate he was. He doesn't like being called gay for his style.
Background:
Jay comes from a broken home. He was caught up in a very messy divorce, and in the end his father was given custody of him. His sister went to live with his mother. He was only about eight when this happened, but he suffered the loss of his sister badly, as he always felt a kind of responsibility for his younger sibling. After about a year, his mother and sister mysteriously disappeared and were never heard from again. Jay dove into depression, and would cut himself whenever he was reminded of his mother and sister.
When he first went into High school at the age of 14, he became involved in the Punk scene, and he became more serious about singing and lyric writing. He got his first tattoo around the time he first went to high school, at his step brother’s tattoo parlour. It was a small skull on his forearm, on the end of a self harm scar. He thought it’d remind him that cutting his wrists would mean death, but it didn’t prevent him the next time he was provoked to cut himself.
At about the age of 15 he got involved in drugs, drink and ultimately sex, and it wasn’t pleasant. Eventually it lead to crime, but he was not admitted to a juvenile correction center because when they found him he had collapsed from taking too many drugs. Instead he was admitted to a re-hab center. At 16 he got his cocaine tattoo, and he would stare at it every day, trying to force himself to remember not to smoke it anymore. Of course, he still did, but there was that little glimmer of hope. After leaving re-hab he met a boy called Ryuu, a failing High school student much like himself. They made friends, but then Ryuu took it a step too far as to try and turn it to romance. Jay hit him, and they never spoke again.
When he turned 17 his father bought him his first motorbike, and he immediately took lesions. He got his license just before he was transferred to Watson. He met a few guys on his first day, and they set up a band, which plays at Club Sierra on Saturdays sometimes.
