Jude was seldom away from the music rooms, in which case he was here. He was in a recording room, no one on the other side of the glass, recording some drum beats at the moment. He finished, got up, ran out of the room and pressed the 'stop recording' button on the mixing board as quick as he could. He pressed playback and put the large headphones up to one of his ears. He overlaid the guitars he had recorded earlier with the beat he had just done. All he needed now was bass in about three parts, and he didn't play but he played guitar so he would manage well enough. The idea of a piano backlay came to him as he tapped his foot on the ground, eyes closed, tapping his hand against his jeans to the drum beat he had just rerecorded.
As the expanse of wordless music went on, he got to thinking. He couldn't sing. He had words for this but he wasn't confident in his singing ability at all. He wouldn't sing, it would ruin the song. What was he going to do... He tried to forget about it, reaching around blindly for the sheet music to this composition of his. He couldn't seem to find it. He took off the headphones, turning the volume down for them on the mixing board. He got off the stool he was sitting on and started to look around. Under his tea, Earl Grey, behind the school's drums, under his guitar, inside the piano, under the mixing board's table. No luck. "Oh damn."

Chloe had heard about the new recording studio that the school had, she thought it sounded really cool but nobody would catch her trying to sing, she knew that people would laugh, she had never sung in front of anybody before, only in her bedroom at home or in her dorm when her roomates had gone. After school had finished for the day she decided to check it out, just to see what it looked like and stuff, there was no harm in having a look. She ran to her dorm and placed her bag and things down, changed into her light blue jeans and a purple tshirt that said angel at heart with her red converse. She wandered from her dorm and through the school to the opposite end where she knew the recording studio to be, where she thought it was anyway. She pushed the door open and slowly walked in, closing the door quietly behind her. She looked around and was quite impressed, there were several booths for recording, some bigger than others, they were probably with groups of people or bands. She saw the main tower unit that recorded the music and things, she wasn't really sure what it done. She saw somebody looking like they were in a panic, looking for something. She recognised the person as one of her best friends, Jude. She knew he must be looking for some sort of music piece he had lost...wat else would he be in a panic about? She knew how much he loved his music and how much he appreciated it. He hadn't even noticed her yet and she saw what she thought he was looking for, on the floor, under the table. She picked it up and waved it about. "Looking for this Jude? she asked with a cheeky smile

Jude continued to freak out, trying to figure out where his piece was as he heard the door open. He didn't turn round to check, dismissing the noise as the wind. He went back into the booth, double checking everywhere and having no luck whatsoever. He huffed, no way he was going to lose this. He didn't have it written down anywhere else, he had no failsafe. What's new. Music was supposed to be impulsive, not something that's staged and robotic. It's the art of thinking with sound. Well, anyway, he would be really down if he lost this composition. Really down...
Just as he was facing that fact that he was going to have to give up, that he had lost it, he rounded the corner out of the booth, back to where the mixing board was. He was staring at the ground, his annoyed silence broken by a cheery female voice. He looked up, hearing the ruffle of paper. He ran toward Chloe, nearly snatching the piece from her. He didn't want her to read it, his lyrics were no good. He exhaled sharply, rolling his eyes at her. "Just a bit." He chuckled, pushing her shoulder as if he really wanted to push her. His face softened as he realized he had recovered the lost piece. He could be, once again, at peace now. The world was back in harmony. He returned Chloe's sassy smile with a smirk of his own. He could play around too, just only with people he knew really well.

Chloe thought it was funny how much of a panic he was in about his music or whatever he had lost, it made him seem even cuter. She saw the smile he gave her too and it made her blush a little and it only made him look cute but in a funny way, but she loved him for that...what were best pals for? "Just a bit." "Yeah, I can totally see that" she laughed " so what you in here for anyway?" she asked curiously as she folded her arms casually

Jude saw her blush, this pulling on a heartstring. He saw her smile all the time, that was no big deal anymore but seeing her blush was rare. She was normally so... shameless. No that wasn't the word. Well what was? Unlike him, that's how she was. She wasn't afraid. Her voice met his ears and he chuckled again. "What else do I do," He paused, shrugging and ruffling his messy hair. "Music."

Chloe tried to not make herself laugh at how cute she thought Jude looked right now, after he ruffled his hair. She felt like shouting 'awww' and hugging him but she knew she's probably scare him away..maybe she was too outgoing for her own good. She was a people person and was always looking for fun. She thought it was strange how she was really good friends with Jude, he was a quiet type of person and she was quite a energectic loud person...but opposites attract? "yeah, and don't I know that" She said with a laugh "seriously Jude, you need to find a new hobby...music's cool and all but it's all you do, you should come to a party or two, they're easy to find around here anyway" she said slyly with another cheeky smile She knew how shy Jude was and she wanted him not be so she would have liked to take him to a party or something to make him a bit more outgoing like her but she knew that he really didn't do wild, rocking out parties.

Jude just looked at Chloe, she looked like she was choking back a huge smile or something. Who knows, espically about girls. Espically not Jude, on that one. He knows girls like fish know bicycles. Not at all. Sure, he'd managed to stumble into a few relationships, but the other person did all of it there. And he was probably just a little too tired to fight a couple of them. Oh well, it didn't matter now. Another Valentine's Day he would happily spend alone. No, not alone. With his only love, music. He snapped back out of though as Chloe's exuberant laugh met his ears, he couldn't help but smile really small. Laughter made him, it was the only thing he'd found people couldn't fake as easily as a personality. He listened to her blather on about parties and whatnot. He honestly couldn't care less about parties, they were loud, and crazy. Unlike him, he was not loud not crazy by any strech of the imagination. He tried not to be, most people seemed not to like that as far as he could tell... He remembered her saying something about him needing a new hobby and he got all defensive, but still quietly. He huffed, walking back over toward the stool where he had sat earlier and plopped down, back hunched as he pulled the teethmark ridden pencil from behind his ear. He rubbed the eraser over the second line of the lyrics of the song's bridge and quickly flipped the pencil over, scribbling in some words he probably wouldn't be able to read later when it mattered. He looked up at her, still a little surprised that she had said that to him. "What if I don't like parties? I don't need a new hobby, music is much better then... 'getting smashed and sleeping around.'"

Chloe watched as he just huffed and walked back over to the desk he had been working at previously. She didn't know what she done, did she say something she shouldn't have? " awww...come on Jude, what did I do?" she asked in a baby voice as she walked up to the desk he was sitting at. She watched him as he scribbled out stuff over and over again. She knew herself when anybody did that they were annoyed at something, she did it all the time. " Jude? Hello?" she asked as she waved in front of him "You know I love you really" she said with a girly smile that she rarely showed, he just didn't know how true that statement was...yet. He still didn't answer her but he just looked up at her. "What if I don't like parties? I don't need a new hobby, music is much better then... 'getting smashed and sleeping around." Chloe was a bit shocked at his outburst, it wasn't really like him to be like that. She knew she must have offended him or something, but she didn't know what she did or said. Although she took his outburst, possibly, out of context. "Are you trying to say I get 'smashed and sleep around', Jude?!" she asked loudly as she placed her hand on her hips.

Jude tried to calm down a bit as he sat at the mixing board, hands on the edge and arms straight, supporting his upper body as he kept his head down. He didn't want to be mad at her, she was his friend. He had to ignore her sounding like a baby, which he didn't particularily care for. He was still mad. Why? His ignoring went through her faving in front of his face, resisting the impulse to grab her wrist to make her hand stop. He wasn't calming down at all. He heard her say he loved her really. Yeah, that's what friends do! Little did he know... or want to. He looked up, staring her right in the face. He was in a right state, and it showed in his face. It's like he was trying not to shout or something. He was quiet and she was quiet and it was AWKWARRRRDDDD. Then she snapped at him and he couldn't restrain himself from spinning around toward her in his chair, jumping out of it and just standing over her. "NO I'M NOT. PARTIES HAVE ALCOHOL, ALCOHOL MAKES DRUNK PEOPLE SLEEP TOGETHER. IT ONLY HURTS OTHER PEOPLE." He roared, looking down at her. He hated people who drank then had sex with random people. Someone he loved had done that to him and ever since he has hated ceaters and drinkers and just that whole thing. He backed up slowly from her just looking totally spacey until he ran into the mixing board with his hands and his back. He stopped, just looking over at her, expression a mixture of shock and anger and... he couldn't believe she said that. He couldn't believe he did that.

Chloe watched as he continued to be annoyed at her,she still didn't know what she did and he never told her, although she was anonyed at his remark about what he thoguht parties were all about, he was wrong and that was because she knew he had never actually been to a proper party. She watched as he stood up, scraping the chair behind him and he walked up in front of her, towering over her. She felt a little intimadated by him, he just hand this look to his face that told her not to say anything, just to keep quiet. NO I'M NOT. PARTIES HAVE ALCOHOL, ALCOHOL MAKES DRUNK PEOPLE SLEEP TOGETHER. IT ONLY HURTS OTHER PEOPLE." He shouted at her She had never heard Jude shout before and she had never heard him use that tone of voice with anybody, she was the last person she thought he would talk to like that, she thought he would never talk to like her like that, she must have really upset him. She wasn't really and emotional person, most of the time, but she just looked at her friend as he walked over to the mixing station and hold onto the table. She didn't even realise it rolled down her cheek, but she felt a slow tear travelling down her face which became two then three etc

Jude just stood there, it was all he could do. How could he have yelled at her. At anyone. Sure people did it all the time, but Jude never yelled or used violence or intimidation or any of that. What had he just done, he couldn't fathom. Sure, the whole partying thing upset him but it wasn't her fault. He was really wrong for taking it out on her, and he couldn't think of how to say it to her. She would probably never want to speak to him again after that. Yeah riight. He could just remember the look of fear she'd had on her face as he towered above her. That would forever be tattooed in his mind, that made him almost cry. He never wanted to scare anyone, to make them feel that way. It was not Jude, it just wasn't. He looked up from his feet, spotting a glimmer of a tear trail quickly down her cheek. Oh god no. He hadn't possibly done that to her, he couldn't have... He sighed, walking quickly over to her. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, his chin resting perfectly on her head. He just held her. "I'm so sorry. I never meant to... I'm so sorry. I'm... I'm just... I'm sorry, Chloe." He said as he swayed back and forth slowly, he had experience with comforting people. Hopefully she would stop crying, he couldn't take it. It made him feel like the most horrible person alive. He would never do this to anyone again. He moved back and forth only slightly, slowly as her body fit perfectly with his. She was warm, he sighed a bit.
ooc; sorry it took so long i was brainstorming. it isn't much but it's all i could come up with.

Chloe stood there looking at Jude as the tears rolled down her cheeks, nobody had shouted at her like that before and she was shocked, she couldn't belive that something like that could come from Jude. She saw him walk over to her as she tried to wipe some of her tears away. She felt him wrap his arms around her and place his chin on her head. She felt comforted by this, not a lot of people hugged her in the way he hugged her, that was one of the things she loved about him. "I'm...I'm sorry too Jude" she hiccuped through her sobs She looked up to him and smiled a little "I think you might need to teach me some 'being quiet' lessons" she tried to laugh a bit Chloe knew she was really outgoing, which a lot of people liked about her, it was a prt of who she was but she wasn't so sure anymore. Her big mouth managed to make situations worse, some of the time.

Jude just stood there, he almost didn't want to let go. No, that wasn't right. Well, it was in a sense. He didn't want to let her go because he cared about her, because they were friends, because he didn't want her to cry, espically because of him. He never wanted her to cry because of him ever again and he mentally promised himself right there that he would never make her cry again in his life. Hopefully he wouldn't ever make anyone cry again in his life... the idea of romantic happenings making this occur didn't even cross his mind for a second. Him and Chloe weren't those friends who were always hanging all over each other, certianly not that 'friends with benifits' thing he'd heard about. They hugged but they weren't always touching each other. He chuckled as she huccuped. "Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything wrong, I flew off the handle. I'm so so soooo sorry. You don't even know how much." Jude's heart fluttered slightly as she smiled up at him. He liked hugging her, and it made him happy to see her happy. But was that why...?

Chloe knew she was being silly for acting ike she was, she knew that it was no intention for Jude to shout at her, he never did at her or anybody, that's what she loved about him...the way he was so good natured and tolerant of others..even her. She sometimes could act her shoe size and not her age and it annoyed the hell out of people but Jude never judged her or anybody else, he was as you got him. She wished she could stand there all day hugging him, it made her feel as if she was loved by at least one person on the planet. She looked up at him with a cautious half smile. "I made you mad, you wouldn't have shouted if I hadn't opened my big mouth" she said with a mildly serious tone " and plus you don't need to be sorry, Jude. I deserved it" she said slowly as the last of her tears rolled down her cheek.

Jude smiled down at her weakly as he let her go, out of his arms. Suddenly he was unusually cold... why was that? Oh yeah, her body heat was gone now. Damn. "No, Chloe. No one deserves to be made cry by their friend. And I'm sorry. I'll never do it again. I hope you can forgive me, I really don't want to lose you as a friend." He said as he wiped her last tear from her eye softly. He really didn't want to do that again to her, to anyone. No one deserves that, no one. Except maybe him right now. But Chloe would never do that. Not to him. But she would stand up for what she believes in to anyone else, she would let them have it. That's what he loved about her, is that she knows she can dish it because she knows how to take it. And she won't change for other people, she is what she is and if someone doesn't like that she knows it's their loss not hers.
