The only sound that could be heard in the silent, and nearly empty library was the frantic shuffling of paper from the far corner table.
Astoria scrunched up a rather messy looking sheet of music and put it on the pile of other rubbish beside her. She sighed, she wasn't really in a good mood today, she hadn't spoken or seen any of her friends in ages, and spent most of her free time sorting through her music folder. Tucking her recently died hair behind her small ears she looked up at the clock. Like that would make time going any faster. She needed to get out, there was no point moping around. She didn't even know why she was acting like this. With a frown she picked up her pen and drew a heavy line across another crotchet filled page.

Jude, on the other hand, was obsessed enough to buy staff paper. With the sets of staffs, what you write music on, on it. All you had to do was draw your clef, time signature and notes. Presto! He too had a folder for his music, and it was full to bursting. Between papers from music theory and music history, he could sink a battleship. He scratched his head, ruffling his messy hair slightly, with the eraser end of his pencil. Never compose with pen, he never did. What if you wanted to change something? Oh well, sucks for you because you can't erase pen and everyone knows that if you scribble out something on a staff you get all confused. Or maybe only he did. He bit the pencil a little bit, just the wooden part. He was thinking of what could go here. He had the rythem and pitches, but he needed words. Maybe it worked better to write words then do rythem and pitches... Oh, there was no hope, he'd been at it for hours!
He tossed his chewed up pencil down on the table and it landed with a small noise. He gathered up the four pages of composition he had, and put them in the left side pocket of his notebook. He closed the front of it carefully, always thinking that the full-to-bursting notebook would explode. And it could... He stuck the pencil behind his ear and looked up. He quickly spotted the vibrant hair of little Astoria Farro. He hadn't even noticed her walk in. She too seemed to be giving up on her composition. He figured they could talk. He pulled his folder off the table with one hand and pushed the chair in with the other and walked over to her. He stood by her chair, looking down at her sheepishly. This is the part he was bad at. Talking. "Um, hello. How are you?" He tried to smile, only appearing more shy. He knew her, it wasn't that. They were friends actually, over, what else, music. He just wasn't good at talking to people.
ooc; sorry it's crap.

By now Astoria had too piles of music sheets, one which consisted of old pieces she had either given up on or left unfinished, the other, which was much smaller were her successful and finished compositions along with her lyric notepad.
She fiddled with the end of one of her red extensions, as she tried to think of another note sequence that could replace the one she had just scribbled on. It was no good. She looked up, and was quite surprised to see Jude Lawson standing there, he was so quiet. "Um, hello. How are you?"
"Hi" She replied with a smile, letting go of her hair, aware she looked like a child when she was playing with it. She sighed and looked at her messy table, "I'm okay I guess" She added, with a small laugh, "I've been working too hard on this.." She continued, looking down at her current piece of paper, "I've spent so long on it, it's stupid" She grinned. She knew he would understand, he was a music nerd too. Probably much more than her. Realising she had spoken quite a lot, she returned the question, "How about yourself? Working on a composition?" She asked.

Jude's smile grew when she looked up. Her eyes were always so full of life, like she had so much to be happy about and she was constantly aware of it. Or something. He listened intently as she talked, as if he was going to be tested on it. He watched her play with her hair, it was so different. Like her. People as dedicated as them don't come around all too often. She sighed, sounding a little discouraged. Why was that. Jude was very curious as to this, but it was answered for him. He smiled more, same situation as him. "Same. I've got the notes and the rythems perfect, I think. But I can't come up with any words that are worth writing down. They're all no good. I need inspiration. Or some sleep, that might help..." He trailed off, his heavy british accent stopping too. He looked down at her. She would understand. "I'm sure your piece is fine, you're a fantastic artist." It was the truth, he loved her musical style and he often told her just that.

She shoved her messy pile further across the table and looked back down at her current work. She didn't know what was wrong with it.
Looking back up at him, she couldn't help but smile. She loved having someone else to talk to about music. "Mines kind of the other way round" She explained, "I have the lyrics, but not the right melody" She concluded, grabbing her smaller green notepad from her left, where she wrote down song words and lyrics. She laughed when he mentioned sleep, "That helps" She giggled, "I'm often up too late writing" She admitted, flicking through the pages of the pad trying to find something.
Astoria couldn't help but blush slightly, she hoped it wasn't visible, surely not seeing as her hair stole the attention from her face. She never did take compliments well, "Thanks" She said with a shy smile.
ooc; its just you (: your replies are fine to me + jude's sweet ^^

Chloe was sitting in her art class, actually bored for once, she had finished her folio of work for the day. She wanted to do more drawings but couldn't find any inspiration so she gave up on the idea and walked out the class. The teacher didn't mind anyway, since she had finished everything. She pulled her Ipod out of her pocket and turned it to 'Mayday Parade', one of her favourite bands, she was a very rock and roll girl, a rock chick, she loved to dance and rock out. She knew that she had other homework to do for Biology, but she couldn't be bothered but she had nothing else to do so she might aswell get started on it and she couldn't be bothered to walk all the way back to her dorm to get her books so she headed towards the library, she knew what her homework was on so she could just look it up from any book she could find. She wandered into the library slowly with her hand in the pockets of her black jeans, she walked half-heartedly over to the school book section and picked out the first book on Biology she could find, yet again she couldn't be bothered to flick through all the books. She was walking up to the back of the library where the desk for studying were when she noticed somebody with really bright red hair, she thought it was the coolest ever, she looked over and realised it was Stori, only she could get away with hair like that and she saw Jude sitting with her. She knew now that she couldn't be bothered to do her homework, she would rather chat to her friends, although she still held the book she picked out, she would take it to her dorm later. She walked up to the table where they were sitting and smiled. "Hey guys!" she chimed happily "what's up?" she asked as she sat down on the chair opposite Jude

Jude listened as she talked, something he did well. He shifted his heavy notebook from his inside hand to his outside one, leaning with his inside hand on the library chair nearest him. He nodded. He had had her problem too. "We could work together, I've got melodies, you've got lyrics. " He said, chuckling slightly. He was only half serious, he didn't expect her to want to work with him. His style was a little more... watered down, compared to hers. She was progrssive rock with heavy drums and a piano backdrop, he was soulful piano chords and simple guitars. Her words with his music probably wouldn't be worth listening to. Then again... oh, forget it. She scribbled some things down but he didn't catch them, the flash of green that was her notepad was out of sight too fast to. She spoke again and a goofy grin spread across his face. He loved her laugh, people laughing in general. It was something you couldn't easily fake, so genuine and real. Most people, on the other hand, were not. "I'm up far too late all the time. I normally can't sleep just because, well I don't know actually." He shrugged, it would be a good plan if he could have school at night too, but not everyone was nocturnal like he seemed to be.
He could have sworn he noticed her blush at his compliment, such a contrast to her focused musical attitude. It was nice, she wasn't all work and no play. He didn't know, maybe she hadn't. Probably not, she could probably take a compliment. She would get them all the tine, being such a good composer as she is. He nodded when she thanked him and her smile made him grin too. He smiled down at her. "Do you mind if I sit?" He inquired gingerly, jerking the chair only slightly outward. His thoughts were interrupted when another farmiliar face approached. He looked over, the voice matching the face. It was his great friend Chloe. Also a great confusion to him... she flirted with him, but he didn't think she liked him. Not quite her type. She was just a mystery. He smiled at her, cheeks all rosy, when he asked how they were. He wouldn't be bothered with words.
ooc; oh okay x.x and thanks, i like him too. hes cute, and i like him cause i can imagine him doing all this. it fits, and the british accent only seems right. plus that accent makes people seem sweeter, i think. i think i quite like him (:

Astoria smiled up at him, she couldn't help it, she had to smile, you hardly saw her upset. "I'd like that" She said to his suggestion on working together, although they both really had different styles. "But maybe we should just help each other on these ones.." She suggested herself, not sure if she was making sense. Her lyrics were usually personal to her, well she tried to make them personal. If they were successful.
She wondered why he didn't sleep much, surely it couldn't be the music work load. But she decided not to ask such a personal question and nodded as he asked her if it was okay to sit down. "Sure, go ahead" She smiled, she didn't see why he had to ask in the first place.
Astoria moved her stuff into neater sections, stuffing some of the sheets into her chunky folder. Her bright coloured fringe feel into her eyes as she looked down, and when she pushed it back she noticed Chloe. "Hey guys!" She was always happy, or so it seemed. "Hiya Chloe" She replied with another smile. "Just working on music" She said, as if it were an automatic response, she looked at the book Chloe was holding. "Biology, fun!?" She said, with a grin, moving her bag of the other chair so she could sit down.

Jude was surprised that she had found the idea of a collaboration so appealing. He barely did, but he would give it a shot. It was like everything was with music, if you never give it a shot you'll never know if it could have worked. "I would like that, we should." He grinned, that had made him much happier. Jude liked to have complete pieces, music and lyrics, but often didn't get that far. He was great as far as rythems and pitches and melodies and all of that goes, but he didn't like his voice. So he always imagined writing the words for someone else to sing, when in reality he could sing them himself. He didn't like the sound of his voice at all, only singing when required. He actually had a fantastic voice but he never sings. If he would sing, his lyrics would be much better, and he would finish more pieces. And get more sleep... He snapped out of it, looking up to see Astoria nodding at him, telling him he could sit.
He pulled out the chair and sat in it, sliding his notebook onto the table. He smiled, looking over at Chloe, who was also sitting with them now. He had almost forgotten. He listened to the two girl chatter. His heart dropped. They talked so much, maybe he didn't talk enough. Maybe Astoria thought he was just a nervous wreck who didn't sleep. He didn't want that, not at all. Maybe he was just to nervous about it all. People don't always want to judge you. yes they do, nevermind it. Jude wondered for a second if he should help her sort through her music and put it in piles and such. The idea was fleeting, seeing as she didn't really care to organize it much. That was the one thing for Jude that had to be organized, always. He would go mad if it wasn't, if he opened his notebook and couldn't immeaditly find a composition. He would surely hate that.
ooc; this post jumps around so much, sorry if it's hard to follow.

Chloe felt better now that she was sitting with some of her friends, she was stuck in a tiny class with hardly any people she didn't even know in her art class so it was good to talk to some familiar faces. She placed her book down on the table and sighed. "Biology, fun!?" "Oh yeah it's sooo much fun" Chloe replied with a laugh "what do we really need biology for anyway?" she asked rhetorically "I see you've got your music stuff out again as usual?" she asked with smile "I wish I could play something...I tried guitar once but I wasn't very good" she admitted Chloe wished she could do the singing part to music but she didn't think she was a very good singer, where in fact she was a great singer. She just would never let anybody hear her sing, she was too shy and she was afraid that they'd laugh at her. That was the only part of Chloe's personality that she would keep quiet about, most other times she was a happy upbeat person. She looked over at Jude, he seemed really quiet since she'd been there...was it her?, was he trying to give her the cold shoulder....did he know that she liked him?, maybe she was just being silly. "You're a bit quiet Jude, what's up?"

Astoria turned back to her music for a while, and sorted through a couple of loose pages that had fallen from her messy, unorganised folder. She looked up at Jude, "Great" She said in reply. She thought it would be really fun if they got together to work on music sometime.
She laughed at Chloe's sarcastic reaction, as she flicked the pages in her green notebook. "You can play he piano" She pointed out, remembering the time she had tried to teach Chloe the art of keyboard. It hadn't really worked. "A little" She added with a grin. Astoria did think Chloe could get better, if she practiced of course. She shrugged, and looked over to Jude with her soft green eyes, he didn't seem any quieter than usual. To her he was always quiet, but then she didn't know him as well as Holly.

ooc; emi you wrote "holly" when its chloe XD ily<3
Jude watched Astoria leaf through her papers, he would die if his folder was that... unorganized. His was like the epitomy of organization. Everything else in his life was messy, his room, his music sounded messy, his hair, but his compliations couldn't be. Jude's day brightened signifigantly as Astoria agreed to work with him sometime. He would really like that, it wasn't a lie. He smiled his widest smile yet as he looked over at her sideways, quickly looking away though. She might 'catch him'. Or whatever, he heard you weren't supposed to smile at a girl for too long or they'll kiss you or whatever. He thought she was really pretty but he didn't want to kiss her. She was three years younger than he was... that was weird. Well, at least he thought so. Maybe she wouldn't, that's why he looked away.
"I play the guitar. And drums. And the piano as well, but only a little. Not as good as her." Jude smiled sheepishly, motioning at Astoria. He listened as Astoria talked about Chloe playing piano. She had never told him that, either one of them. Then Chloe asked what was up with him. Truth be told, nothing was. So he would tell her that. ...Well, what else would he tell her? Exactly. "Nothing, I'm fine. Nothing's wrong." He said, brown eyes on Chloe, his head shaking side to side, just to emphazise the fact that he was fine.

Chloe felt a little embarrssed when Stori mentioned that she could play the piano a little bit, although she was a happy extrovert character she hated to share he talents and gifts, she didn't like anybody to know things she could and couldn't do. "yeah...eh...I really can't" she said as she fiddled with her fingers nervously "even that little bit I can't do without you there Stori, I'd rather sit and watch you play" She heard Jude saying the instruments that he could play, she had no idea he could play so many things and she felt a bit jealous but even if she could play something she would never tell anybody, just ike she won't sing in front of anybody when she had a good voice..maybe it just took the right kind of person to get it out of her. "are you sure you're fine Jude?" she asked rhetorically " If you say so anyway" she said with a smile
