ooc; wrong account
"Yeah," Avery rolled her eyes. The sarcasm, the lies. She couldn't take it any longer. "Your number doesn't do me a damn bit of good right now. I need you now and you're walking away. Seems you are good at messing stuff up..." She scoffed as he walked away. She wouldn't let this happen, she couldn't. But what could she do, get up and run after someone who didn't want her. Bad idea... just... bad. She sat there in her body's own imprint upon the sand, frozen, paralyzed. She was out of things to say, out of thoughts. She just sat there, eyes closed trying to forget about it. What it? Lyric, it. But he used to care about her, she didn't understand. As soon as she cares, he's gone? This boy was just a mystery wrapped in a puzzle, or maybe he was just a jerk wrapped up in some weed. She couldn't see the difference anymore, the line seperating the two had become a little too blurred. Meanwhile he just keeps walking away... world of good this would do for her. World. Of. NO. Good.

His voice was raised. No longer did lyric look upset, he looked distressed, anxious and confused. He looked as if his body and mind were begging him to go back to her, and at least try. Half of him pleaded for go back and just take her up in his arms... try to make their friendship work. The other part of him told him to turn around and keep walking. He didn't have to make anything better. It was as if he held and angel and a devil apon his shoulders, and his was torn in the middle.[/ul]

"Okay well I'm going to lie and say that's fine so you can walk away with your massive ego undamaged. Okay with you?" Avery hissed, not daring to move or even look at him. What the hell. She was going to love a friend here, a friend who she valued. Sadly as much more than a friend. Maybe that was the problem. She knew he didn't see her that way so why was she trying to make him. She sat there, still as a statue. Her face was contorted in something of anger, maybe it wasn't. She was not going to let him see he hurt her like this. No way. She couldn't believe he was yelling at her, he could have never. Maybe the fiber of their friendship was just ripping apart right in front of her eyes and she knw she couldn't do a thing about it. It was up to him now, the ball was in his court. She shook her head, maybe trying to say something, maybe not. What did it matter, Lyric wasn't listening. He just wasn't willing to listen, to hear her side of it. Not really fair, even though she sure as hell didn't want him to explain either. She just looked out at the ocean, not knowing weather he was even gone or not. Part of her knew he was, but the other didn't want him to be.

He said remembering that day. It had been horrible, he could have killed someone. Solemnly, he shook his head, dropping his shoes to the ground and walking closer to her. He was kicking himself for actually giving a rat's ass about her, about anyone. But at this time, he really didn't want to lose a friend, especially not Avery. He reached out and touched her arm "Avery, I'm a pretty shitty person aren't I?" He asked softly, Pushing his hair back out of his eyes.He didn't know what else to say."[/ul]

"Yes. You are." Avery replied simply. She still couldn't even look at him, why. No one can save me the damage is done. She had dismissed his first comment, which was pretty funny to think of. She wouldn't crack a smile, she wouldn't laugh. Not now, she would ruin it. She could maybe make him feel bad. Okay, that was just stupid, she knew that was impossible. He would never feel bad for anything. Ever and she accepted that, although grudgingly. Who would want to think that about someone that they, well. Hated. But loved. But hated. Oh this was so confusing. And unreal. It would never happen again and it didn't matter. So why did it matter so much to her. Why damnit. She pulled her hand up to her face and rested her elbow on her knees, her head in her hand. What was he doing to her. Turning her inside out, that's what and she was hating every second of it. For once she had to think about something and really make decisions. She was too young for this, too young for such mature things. Maybe this was just an insane thing. But then again, maybe not. "You're a horribly shitty person for making me care about you."

He muttered looking at her as she burried her head in her hands. what was he going to say. He wasn't the guy to make things better, he was the guy who smoked and drank and had sex. He was the player and he felt like she wanted him to do something. Or to take back something he had done already. What was he supposed to say? 'Ok Avery.... I only made you care because I care.' Never. It wasn't him. And why was he saying he cared? Did he? Indeed he did. "I know sorry isn't going to do shit, but its the most I can come up with, you've got to help me out here... I'm trying to fix this" That statement should have sent a wave of shock through anyone who knew Lyric. He was 'trying to fix' something. This was completely unreal.[/ul]

Avery gave him a chance, not knowing at all why, she looked over to him as he continued on with his short speech, her jaw slowly dropping. She was. Well, speechless. What had just happened, were the planets out of line or something. This statement should have made her smile, should have made her happy. Over the moon happy. Yet somehow, it hadn't. It only confused her more. Almost insulted her, why would he lie to her like that whens she was putting herself out there like this. She was open and totally vulnerable and he was just going to insult her with that lie. That pile of rubbish. She wanted to believe it, oh she did, but she knew him. And she heard it. She hadn't believed it. She couldn't believe it. Wasn't it easier to yell at him and hate him and secretly not hate him. Yes, admittedly it would be. But maybe it was genuine, maybe by some leap of faith she could believe him. For once. "Okay alien pod, where is Lyric. Because that sure as hell didn't just fall from his lips." Okay that was not how she had meant to phrase the profound thing she was trying to say. "Sorry, instinct. Seriously though," She turned so her brown eyes could see his own. She could cry right then. "...I- uh. Ugh..." She sighed. This wasn't working. Not at all.

He muttered, glancing over at her as she stole a glance at him. She was the first. The first to see him care, the first to break through his shell and find the soft side of him. Like a hard candy with a gooey inside. He was reaching out to her, and she would probably be the only one who would ever see it, if he had his way about it. She just caught him at a very vulnerable time.[/ul]

If Lyric was gooey, she didn't want to be covered in goo. And she just realized that as their eyes met. She didn't love him. She didn't like him, like that. She didn't want to go with him. She didn't want to be his girlfriend. She didn't want any of that. She felt so stupid. She felt so dumb. She just wanted her friend back. She wanted to be better friends. She wanted to understand him. Kind of, some things are better left untouched though. She didn't love him. She thought she had, she had confused useless, needless dramatics for love. I'm an addict for dramatic, i confused the two for love, you can tell me that you don't dare, liar if we're keeping score. She didn't like him. But she had told him she had, and in doing so she had made him open up. Sh!t. Now he was all open and stuff and she didn't really want it. But she couldn't tell him that, he'd be so mad. Should she pretend she loved him? Was that the right thing to do here...? She couldn't tell. She just saw him and felt bad. She sighed, somehow she still couldn't pull her eyes away from him. Why? There was a glimmer of something in them. She couldn't tell him now, she couldn't go back on what she had said. Today was bad enough for him... She laughed in response to his comment, a smile breaking her face. "I hope so." She leaned closer to him, before when he had done it she liked it. Now it felt so wrong, like she was lying. How close is close is enough, we learn we learn together, like 'too close, too close'. "I don't think that I'd be sitting on a beach with an alien... well who knows maybe I would. But it wouldn't be as cool as you." She smiled, her teeth showing this time. A wider smile. A wider lie.
