Dane stretched and yawned loudly, his mind wandering as well as his feet. He had only woken up just maybe two hours ago and already he was lost. A few more minutes passed and Dane found himself looking into a river. His own reflection was blurred thanks to the fact it was a river therefore it was moving, but he could tell that he majorly lacked sleep. Yawning for the millonth time he sat down on the edge of the river, taking off his shoes he rolled up his jeans and dipped his feet in the river. The water was freezing cold causing him to twist his face in surprise. It only took him a few seconds to get used to the icy bitter water, and during those few seconds Dane seemed to start to doze again.
Within minutes he had put his shoes back on and rolled his jeans down and was napping right by the riverside, without a care in the world.

Jamie was walking along, her eyes watching everything around her. She was remembering everything she looked at so she could find her way back. As she walked along she came to a river, and beside it, she noticed someone laying down. Thinking something might be wrong, Jamie ran down to where the person was, her hair in a ponytail, was swaying as she ran.
Once she got to where the guy laid, she noticed he actually was breathing. Jamie laughed at herself outloud. Realizing that she wasn't quiet, her hands covered her mouth as she prayed she didn't wake the guy laying there. He looked tired to her and she didn't have the heart to wake him and help him back to where ever he came from.

At the sound of laughter, Dane's lips dipped down curiously and his eyes slowly opened. He turned onto his back, but seemed to be in shock to see a stranger looking down at him despite the fact he had heard her laughter. Rubbing his eyes, he blinked a few times before his vision cleared and he could see Jamie perfectly. "Hello," he said to her seeming to move his head a little bit to the side despite the fact that he was still laying down. "Nice day isn't it?" he said conversationally and pleasantly, seeming to still be half-asleep. Nothing really mattered when only half his conscience was alert.

Jamie watched as he stirred and his eyes opened slightly. "I am so sorry I didn't mean to wake you." she said apologizing. Clearly he was still tired but he started talking to her, so she talked back. "Yeah it is. How has your day been going so far? I mean other then the fact that I just woke you from what seemed like a peaceful sleep." she said. She paused for a moment, her eyes scanning the water, then turned back to him. "I am really sorry I woke you." Jamie said again.

"Whatever, it's cool," Dane said easily as he sat up and rubbed the back of his head out of habit. "It'd be more peaceful if it wasn't this cold hard ground," he said patting the dirt and grass happily as if it were an old friend. He then stood up and brushed himself off, looking to Jamie he replied "My day has been very invigorating, I've done nothing but sleep," Dane laughed and looked to the river and then back at Jamie. He blinked suddenly remembering that he should introduce himself, "I'm Dane," he said with a small smile while holding his hand out "What's your name?"

Jamie smiled, glad he wasn't mad that she had woken him. "I wish I could sleep all day. If I were to do that, I wouldn't sleep at night. I swear I am abmornal or something." she said. Jamie then realized she made herself sound like an alien or something and mentally kicked herself. "Not that I am not normal you know." she said. "Well hello Dane, I am Jamie." she said shaking his hand and smiling. "It is very nice to meet you."

Dane laughed at her comment and bowed slightly as she introduced herself, "Nice to meet you too," he said out of habit his fingers already itching for a cigarette. Digging into his pocket he pulled out a stray cigarette that amazingly wasn't broken, also pulling a lighter out he lit up right there infront of Jamie. Then just because he was feeling weirdly nice today he moved to where the smoke wouldn't blow in her face or get on her, "I'm sorry," he said with the corners of his lips quirked "It's a habit," he explained while nodding to the cigarette dangling in between his lips.

Jamie blushed as he laughed at her. She watched as she dug in his pocket, he seemed to be looking for something. He then pulled out what he was looking for. "Its okay. I've been around a lot of smokers, I am use to seeing people smoke. " she said. Which was true. Her dad did and probably half his side of the family. It was unreal.

Dane patted his chest in exaggerated relief, not in a mean way though; just a silly way. Taking a slow drag of his cigarette he looked to Jamie with one eyebrow quirked, "So, I wonder... is it a hobby of your's to watch people sleep?" he asked her teasingly as he tapped his cigarette idly. His mind as always had started to wander, and a fast tune drifted into his head. As he watched her, Dane started to sway slightly to the song in his head. "I've heard of odd hobbies, but never of watching people sleep," he continued with a corny grin.

Jamie laughed as he asked her if she watched people sleep. "Okay this is going to make me sound so stupid, but from up there," she said pointing up to the higher land, "I thought you'd gotten hurt or something so I came to make sure you were still alive." she said, her cheeks turning a red color. Jamie had never felt so embarrassed or stupid in her life.

Dane threw his cigarette to the ground and laughed, "'Thanks, I guess," he said with a big grin. "It's okay though," he then said looking at her "I probably would have done the same," he said with a small nod as if he were agreeing with himself. Stuffing his hands in his pants pockets he shifted all his weight to his right foot and then his left. He glanced at her then back at the water, sort of lost as to what to say... their meeting was slightly random so he felt a little clueless.

Jamie's eyes looked at the ground. She was always shy around new people, Dane was no exception. She just stood there, everything feeling like an akward silence to her. She coughed lightly and looked around some. "So I think maybe I should leave now. You know let you catch up on your sleep." said Jamie, a small smile on her lips.

"Oh, oh! Yeah," Dane said with a nod seeming to be knocked out of his awkward state. "Again, it was nice meeting you," he said as he bowed like a gentleman. Dane frowned slightly as his thoughts wondered else where, like what new songs to play on his keyboard... or just songs in general. He toyed with his glasses as his random thoughts continued.
