They meet in the library a couple days ago. He was writing a song or trying to and Alyssa was getting frustrated over a book that she just couldn't find. He noticed her and asked if she needed help. Alyssa was glad to have someone help her and thought that he seemed like a nice person, and she was right.

Partners In Crime ;; I've seen the future
Even when Nova was young, a new addition to the large and thriving capital of Massachusetts, she never really fit in. She didn’t have too many friends in her new city, except for one very big exception, and his name was Will Maddox. He was in the elementary school class that she was put in upon her arrival in Boston. He was assigned to be her “buddy” for a week or so, to show her around the school. At first, she wasn’t too fond of him, for the simple fact that she wasn’t too fond of anyone at that time. Soon, though, they started talking about things that interested them, and music was a common topic of conversation. Those simple conversations were the start to a great friendship, and soon, they became near inseparable. The only upside to Nova’s being shipped out of Boston was the fact that she’d get to be in the same school was Will again. Now, they hang out constantly, and it is very rare that you find one without the other.
Feelings From Will: "Oh wow. Nova's my best friend. I mean, ever since first grade, when I was forced to be her friend. But I'm glad. I'll definitely bug her whenever I get bored or lonely."

When Ryuu first saw Will, his jaw hit the ground and left a dent there. And Ryuu, being the idiot he is, lusted for the junior. Unfortunately for Ryuu, on the several occasions they'd met or talked, Ryuu absolutely hated his guts, and had a good feeling that Will hated him. So, the hatred only encorrages Ryuu, because he knows that if he did anything stupid, like make a move on Will, he can't ruin any friendship. But, he is running a greater risk of a black eye.
Feelings From Will: Ryuu....Uh, yeah. Honestly, this kid and I don't really.....well, let's just say I'll kick his ass gratefully anyday if I have to."

Holly knows Will through her music class. It's a class she had dumped before because she didn't really like it but she picked the subject up again a couple weeks later. She met Will in one of the music booths and she asked him about a couple of chords about her guitar, they started to talk about other things too and became good friends....maybe they will become better friends as time goes on.

The two stumbled upon each other (literally) at a music convention once when Jared was visiting Massachusetts, and from the minute they got to talking they really hit it off as friends. Even though Jared lived in New York and Will lived in Massachusetts, they kept in touch through the Internet, and tried to meet each other in person as much as possible in addition to that. Now it's just a scary coincidence that they've both been sent to Watson Academy. They aren't complaining, though! Now they can get together and hang out as much as they please.
Feelings From Will: "Wow...I can't even tell you every single thing we've done together in one sitting. This dude is awesome. He's like the best! Gah, now I sound cheesy..."
