//-Waking up dead, inside of my head. Will never never do, there is no med. -\\
Ryuu stood outside the gym, with his back against the wall and his foot half way up. Smoking, as usual, he watched the pupils flock into the building, which had been decorated inside with absurd amounts of pink and fluffy white and hearts and stuff. Ryuu was wearing the closest he’d ever get to a suit - a pair of faded acid wash jeans, a grey hoodie and a second hand suit jacket over the top. He was sure he would conveniently loose said jacket in a matter of minutes. It was ridiculously uncomfortable. His beanie hat was pulled down firmly on his frizzy brown hair - he’d washed it for the occasion - and his sunglasses were perched on top of his head. Waiting for his date was going to be the most tedious part of the party, getting to the point where he was drunk enough not to care who was who was also uncomfortable. Ryuu had never had a date for the valentine’s ball before, and the fact it was a guy was going to spark rumours and nasty comments, he was sure. Not that people didn’t need Ryuu to turn up with a guy for his date to make them suspicious of his sexuality. He was always making out with guys. Bill wasn’t just any guy though. Bill was special, and Ryuu really wanted to make an effort. He vowed to himself, leaning on the wall and smoking a cigarette, that he would stay true to Bill, no matter how tempted he became. Ryuu wasn’t sure how long that would last…

Bill groaned as he pulled on his blazer while he headed toward the carpark outside the gym. He was supposed to be meeting Ryuu at 6, but he was already late. It wasn't his fault that his hair had decided it wasn't going to co-operate. He'd decided to go for something different, leaving it straight down instead of his usual lion-mane look. As for his outfit, he still couldn't understand why he'd chosen white; a white blazer, white skinny jeans and a black shirt. He knew it wasn't going to stay clean for long.
Letting out a loud sigh, he could see Ryuu standing against a wall. He stopped for a minute and debated just going back to his dorm, it wasn't like the older boy had spotted him. Forcing himself forward, he was hoping it wasn't obvious as to how nervous he was. He had never bothered going to a school dance before, he was usually the person who bitched about how boring and a waste of time they were. Biting his lip, he looked at the ground as he stopped in front of Ryuu. "Hey," he muttered, shifting from foot-to-foot, keeping his eyes down.

The sports hall of Watson Academy was specially decorated for the Valentines Ball. The event had been planned for months and nearly everyone was excited. Teachers and students had put time and effort into making the ordinary gym arena look like a carnival had invaded.
Red, Pink and White were the themed colours of the evening, seeing as it was Cupids day after all. Love heart shaped balloons, along with red ribbons and streamers had been hung around the walls of the hall, the room was hardly recognisable.
Alex was actually quite looking forward to this evenings events. He'd never been to a dance before, well not a proper one, and never with a girlfriend. His stereo was turned up to the fullest volume, with his new ‘Bullet for my Valentine’ CD bursting through the small speakers.
He hadn’t put much effort into his outfit, but it was unusually formal for a guy like him. After straightening out the creases of his old white shirt, he draped a long black tie around his neck; he’d never been good at tying them properly. Of course he was wearing his black drain pipes, he was always wearing skinny jeans, that’s what probably gave him the label ‘EMO’.
His hair, as always was half covering his face, his fringe shielding one of his abnormally bright blue eyes. Alex switched the music off, after he had managed to find the remote control under all his mess, and slipped into his scuffed red and black vans. Outfit complete, time to meet Dakota.
As Alex walked down to the Gym he remembered that he hadn’t officially asked Dakota to the Valentines dance, he needed lessons in romantics. But as they were going out, he had assumed he would meet her there. He couldn’t wait to see how beautiful she looked.
6:06pm, was the time when he checked his iPhone, the dance didn’t formally start until half past the hour. Alex shoved his phone back into his jean pocket, and slowed down as he neared the old sports building.
A tall figure was leaning against the wall, a half smoked cigarette in hand. Surprised that Ryuu was early he walked over, not noticing Bill until he was closer. He looked different with his hair straight, shrugging he walked over with a grin. He still wondered why Bill had agreed to go do the dance with Ryuu. “I didn't think you’d agree to be Ryuu’s date” He smirked, the comment directed at Bill, as he reached them, rolling up the long sleeves of his shirt.

//-Keep me safe inside your arms, like towers. Tower over me-\\
Ryuu glanced up, and grinned at a group of his friends, and when they were gone, he spotted a bright white figure coming towards him. Smirking and biting the inside of his cheek to stop himself laughing at Bill’s outfit, he stood away from the wall to greet him. “Hey hot stuff. What the fuck are you wearing?” he snorted, and then pulled him into a tight hug, a hand clasped onto the back of his head, his thumb rubbing Bill’s hair. “Mmm…You’re hair’s lovely today,” he purred, before kissing him tenderly on the lips, “Shall we go inside, or do you want to stay out here and sulk?” he grinned, putting an arm round his shoulder and leading him towards the entrance. He stopped when he spotted Alex, and laughed, "Piss off, jerk. Have you stopped sulking with me now?" he said jokingly, and squeezed Bill's shoulder.

Holly wandered in her dorm trying to get ready, she had her pretty strapless lacy black dress on and her black high heeled shoes and she was sitting in front of her mirror trying to do her make-up. She thought she'd try something different with her make-up for the dance. Rather than her brightly coloured eyeshadows that she wore she put on some dark grey eyeshadow with some black eyeliner that gave her eyes a 'smoky' look and lots of mascara that made her eyelashes stand out so much they looked fake and she put on some light red lipstick with it, her make-up only took her about 15 minutes, a record for her. She then concentrated on her hair, although she didn't know what to do with it. She didn't know if she should make it straight or make it wavy or curly or staight with some curls in it. After some thought she pulled out her curling iron. She set it to wavy and not curly. She sat for about 20 minutes making her hair wavy from top to end and then she turned it to curl and she put some light ringlets in her hair. Satisfied with her appearance she walked from her dorm down to the gym hall where tha dance was taking place, she only had 10 minutes or so until tha dance started. She hoped that PJ would be there, she didn't even know if he was going. Although loads of her other friends would be there so she wouldn't be by herself all night. She walked down to the gym hall and noticed a couple of people waiting outside. She saw Ryuu and who she presumed was Bill, she knew Ryuu was going with him after their conversation on the school chatroom, and she saw Alex, one of her good friends, looking about not really doing much, she knew he was waiting for Dakota. She walked up to the gang with a smile on her face " Heya guys!" she said happily

Deciding to ignore the comment about his outfit, he took the time to look over Ryuu. He was the only person Bill knew who could wear what he was wearing and pull it off. "Thanks," he smiled at the comment about his hair and felt his smile grow when Ryuu kissed him, "Let's go."
When Ryuu stopped, Bill turned to see Alex. He laughed at Alex's comment and shrugged. "Yah, I don't even know why I agreed. I have a feeling I'm going to regret it," he joked, smiling politely at a girl who had just walked up to the group.

Alex glared at Ryuu, he had forgotten all about the other day at the Underground club in the hast of getting ready for the dance in time. Remembering he was still pissed off about the kiss thing he ignored the comment, knowing that he probably looked like a sulky emo kid, but he wasn’t bothered about acting childish. He was only 18, he didn’t need to grow up.He smiled widely at Holly, "Hey" deciding not to say she looked hot, he had a girlfriend after all.

Astoria was singing her recent favourite song, “Sun Goes Down” by David Jordan as she straightened her newly styled hair. She had decided to go for a blood red, not that her hair was bright enough before, with extra added length thanks to the wonderful invention of hair extensions. “Open your eyes cos another day is dawning”
After perfecting her hair she grabbed her dress from the wardrobe. It was quite short, but so was she, so it didn’t matter. Adjusting the black straps of the elegant dark grey dress, she looked in the mirror, scrunching her nose as she examined her new look. The dress was extremely detailed, but simple at the same time. Tiny white beads and thread patterned there way around the tail of the dress, making swirls and flowers, the underlay of the dress was thin black lace, also slightly flowery. She wasn’t that bothered about what she looked like, she didn’t have a date anyway, but she couldn't not go the dance. Nearly everyone was going.
Besides, it would be more fun dancing with your friends, or so she thought. “Children of the night, can you hear them all calling?” She sang, as she twirled in front of the full sized mirror.
Sighing she grabbed her pouch sized bag, it totally didn’t match her dress. The bag was black, with little cartoon pictures of ‘Ruby Gloom’ on it, tartan patches and black beads hung of the strap. She shrugged, it was her favourite, so she would take it. Astoria checked the time on her ‘Power puff girl’s’ watch, it was nearly half past six, so she might as well make her way down to the Gym. It would be good to get there early, it gave her a chance to grab some punch while there was still some available, and see if she could spot anyone she knew.
The walk from her room to the sports hall only took her a few minutes. She spotted Alex, Ryuu, Bill and Holly. They weren't her bestest friends, but she guessed she could talk to them, even if it had been a while since she spoke to any of them.

//-Looking back at my child-hood, wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t that great -\\
Ryuu snorted and poked Bill playfully, “You won’t regret it, promise,” he grinned, ignoring Alex’s sudden decision to play sulky emo kid. Kissing Bill on the cheek again, he spotted Holly and grinned. “Yo! Holly!” he waved, giving her a hi-five when she was close enough “Your hair looks like you spent even longer on it than Billi,” he laughed, looking back at Bill to wink at him playfully. He nodded to Astoria, and muttered a ‘hello’. He didn’t really know her that well, but she looked stunning. Not that he could say that in front of Bill.

Holly was happy that her friends were there already, then she didn't have to wait about loking stupid. Although she looked around and didn't see Reagan about..yet, she wished she would come, she had overhead her saying to somebody that she wasn't going but that wasn't really like Reagan to miss a party. She smiled back at Alex when he said hi and turned to high five Ryuu, she loved that he was always playful and funny, he was a good friend to be around, he could cheer anybody up just by what he said or done. "Hey Ryuu" she said with a girly smile She looked around her again and saw Astoria, she knew her from a couple of classes and had seen her around the school. "Hey Astoria!, I totally love what you've did with your hair, you look like little Ariel!"

Bill laughed and rolled his eyes at Ryuu. As he looked around he noticed another girl who had come over. He recognized her, but couldn't remember from where. "Your hair is amazing!" he smiled, directing the comment to Astoria.
Standing awkwardly, he wondered how exactly the whole dance thing worked. Would they just stand around and talk? He was hoping that Ryuu wasn't actually expecting him to dance, because that was something he had no idea how to do.
Cyd stood in front of the mirror in her room, her face screwed up in concentration. She rarely ever wore makeup, and because of this she always seemed to have trouble putting in on. Sighing, she grabbed her mascara and put a little on before throwing it on the floor. Grabbing her dress from the closet she qucikly pulled it on, looking in the mirror again. When she bought it, she had absoultely loved it but now she wasn't so sure.
As she put on her shoes, she hoped that Tom actually showed up. He'd agreed to go with her but she knew he was prone to sleeping through things. He did it all the time. When she finished with the shoes, she stood up and walked back over to the mirror, pulling her hair and looking herself over once more. Before exiting the room, she grabbed her bag and cell phone, deciding that maybe it would be best to call Tom as a reminder.
Closing her phone, she noticed a group of people standing outside the gym. She recognized a couple people and smiled as she made her way over. "Hey babes, how're you all doing?" she laughed, directing her question more to Ryuu than anyone else.

//- And when it rains, on this side of town it touches, everything. -\\
Ryuu frowned, watching people dancing to the music. He wasn’t wild on dancing, sure he was good at jumping around at shows but dancing was another matter…He slipped his arm round Bill’s waist without thinking, holding him close. “You crap at dancing as I am?” he muttered into his ear. Spotting Cyd, he instantly perked up again, and smiled broadly. “Hey, doll!…Hey are you…Are you wearing … make up?” he exclaimed, squinting at her face. He laughed, wondering what kind of whacked up world he lived in. He didn’t even bat an eyelid at the fact that Bill wore more make up than most girls, yet made a fuss over a little bit of mascara on Cyd. Glancing round, he wondered where the beer was. He only saw a pale pink and a dark red punch, on opposite ends of the buffet table. Not a beer in sight. “Aw crap. No beer. Good thing we’re going out tomorrow then, hey Cyd?” he sighed in disappointment, and then tried to cheer himself up by reminding himself of the trip to Club Sierra.

Elana walks into the ball.. She didn't know why she was here, with no date and all. She just walked around in her outfit (shoes and all from the picture). She saw that there was some people already there but she just sat down and crossed her legs, since her dress was really short. She nodded as people walked by. She was hoping to see a friendly face or two while she was here

Holly walked into the hall with the rest of the guys, she looked around hoping to see either Reagan or PJ, she wanted somebody to talk to or something, she felt a little hyper tonight, maybe it was just the excitement of the dance. Although she would have liked a drink, a proper one but she remembered last time at Sierra and the outcome wasn't good, but maybe one or two wouldn't hurt. She listen as Ryuu just about shouted that their was no beer and she laughed as she walked up beside him. " is that all you think about Ryuu? she asked with a giggle " there are plenty or substitues" she laughed

Tom was standing in the middle of his dorm staring at the outfit his brother had helped him pick out. He hadn't originally planned on going to the dance but Cyd asked him and he wasn't about to turn her down. He was brought out of his trance by his cell phone ringing, by the time he'd managed to find it however, the caller had hung up. Listening to his message, he groaned; so much for his just not showing up. He got dressed quickly, staring in the mirror and realizing how ridiculous he looked, he took it all off again. Instead, he decided to go with a pair of jeans along with a plain t-shirt and the old suit jacket Bill had given him. Figuring both Cyd and Bill would kill him for wearing a hat, he pulled his dreads back with an elastic and exited his room.
He walked slowly toward the place where the dance was being held, pulling at his clothes. He wasn't used to wearing stuff that actually fit and he was starting to feel uncomfortable. Once inside, he looked around for anyone he knew, eventually noticing Bill by a group of other people. Making his way over, he nodded a greeting at Ryuu and Bill, his face lighting up when he spotted Cyd. "Hei, you look amazing," he muttered, pulling her in for a hug.
