imagine knowing me
Delaney wasn't skin and bones naturally. Oh no, skinny minnie had to work for it. And work she did. Every morning in the gym she ran about six laps. That's a lot. Naturally you couldn't run that much without sustinance, so she kept a bottle of water in one corner. When she reached it each time, she would drink one sixth of it. Kind of like a work-then-reward program. Actually that's excatly what it was like. She wasn't stupid though. She knew you couldn't just stop running then sit still, that would mess up your heart. Well, your physical heart not your emotional one. Ex boyfriends who you still liked messed up your emotional one. Ones like, oh, Edward Ellis. Sounds strange, a senior dating a freshman but they had a real good thing going there. For a while. But like all good things, it collapsed. That's why she looked tired and slightly sad today. It sucked... She finished the sixth lap and didn't even stop, just slowed down enough to pick up the bottle and start walking the two laps that she walked to cool down after running her six.

The day had been good so far, nothing bad happened, well hopefully not. Touch wood. Eddie walked towards the gym, wanting to do a couple of laps before he turned in for the night. Entering the gym he saw...Delaney. "Oh. Hello." he smiled coming in and sitting on a bench nearest her. He hadn't seen her in a while, they had been dating for a while and then had stopped because...because, Eddie didn't really know.

Delaney stopped walking upon hearing a voice and backtracked to the nearest bench. She hadn't seen who it was but she didn't mind. She was sociable enough... oh wait. She hadn't expected it to be him. She felt a knot in her stomach and as she smiled at him, it twisted. She sat down next to him, a well distance away, not even touching. She took the last sip of her water and twisted the cap back on. She stole a glance at him, only to feel the knot twisting again. "Ciao." She said. Italian, she always, well almost always, greeted people like that. She spoke fluent Italian and loved to speak it.

Eddie glanced over at her, watching her. What to say? He felt so down, he didn't want her to be like this. Turning to her, he muttered. "How are you?" was the only thing he could muster.
He loved how she spoke Itailian like that, but he was with Elana now...did he really like Elana? Was it that one night fling that people get? He didn't know or care, he just felt so lost, and sorry for himself and Delaney.

Delaney ran her hand through her hair slightly awkwardly. She let it stay on the back of her neck and listened to his voice. She remembered it. She loved the sound of his voice. Well, his normal, coridal one, not this polite, awkward one. She missed him, and she would never admit it. They were over, their time had come to an end and she needed to move on. She glanced at him, not catching his eye. He appeared to be thinking. How could she move on... She chuckled awkwardly. "I'm alright, I suppose. How have you been? Found a new girlfriend yet." That sounded much more harsh than it had been intended. Damnit...

The words were indeed harsh to Eddie's ears. But he knew that if he was to move on with his life, he must move on with love. But who.... "Well, yeah, but I don't know how long it will last." Edward muttered, not catching her eye or anything, he wasn't going to look at her if he didn't have to.
"What about you? New boyfriend yet?" he asked, still staring at the floor, thinking how intresting it was.

To be honest, Delaney didn't want to move on. She wanted him back. But they'd broken up and apparently he had a new girlfriend. The statement was both torture and music to her ears. He did have a new relationship but he wasn't confident in it. She knew if you didn't believe in loving someone, it would never last wether you wanted it to or not. His relationship would crumble soon enough. But what did that mean for her... "Nope, no now guy. Trying out thinking for myself a little bit... I'm not too sure how it's going." She smiled a little bit, brushing her wispy blonde hair out of her face. She looked at him to see that he looked rather confused. Hmm...

"I'm sure you will find someone! A girl like you should!" Eddie laughed, and his head shot to hers. His smile faded and he looked at her, she looked so..beautiful. He just stared at her, his eyes not blinking. It was sort of a frozen moment, she looked much older then she most likely was, the way she had her hair, and her clothing.
He watched her, longing to be with her, his insides ached, he couldn't take his eyes off her for one minute, it was sort of a sick puppy love that he was having.

"I'm not really sure what that means, but grazie." Delaney couldn't help but grin and giggle slightly as he laughed. She missed him so much. But she'd never tell him, she already told herself that. About a million times. He had that other girl now, she would nevr be a homewrecker. Delaney couldn't ever do that to someone. She couldn't ever inflict emotional pain on another human being. Delaney wasn't that much younger than he was, in exactly thirty days, she would be only one year his junior. Her sixteenth birthday was fast approaching and she still had almost no friends to celebrate it with... Her mind wandered away from that as she looked around the gym. Anywhere but at him.

Eddie suddenly realized what he was doing and looked away suddenly, coughing as if to stop the silence. "No worries." he muttered, smiling and looking away. He didn't know what to do with himself, he was just sitting there, looking at her and not even knowing what to say to her, making the silence awakard.
"So, when is your 16th again?" he asked, thank god! He remembered her age! That was a plus but he couldn't remember her birthdate...

Delaney bit her lip and noticed him cough, making her look over. All she caught was the notion that he had looked swiftly in the other direction. Why did her imagination work in this way? He hadn't been looking at her, she told herself that, so why did she want to believe that he was...? Why did her mind need to play tricks on her... She let it slip her train of though. She smiled. "In thirty days, the third of May." She smiled still, she couldn't believe he had remembered. For some reason that made her feel really special.

"I knew it was sometime in May." Edward said, relieved that the pain of waiting to know when her birthday was was over. "What a weild conversation we're having." he suddenly said, a slight frown on his face as he looked up at her.
"I mean...we sound like old friends who havn't seen each other for ages and miss each other very..." SHIT! had he just said that? Oh why was he saying these things? Why!?

"Well you thought correctly." Delaney grinned slightly, the smile sliding off her face as time wore on. And as Edward opened his mouth. What was he talking about. She thought of something to say but was cut off by him again. Oh dear. What would she say to that. The last line hit her and she swollowed hard. She looked away from him and pulled her leg up under her. She took a deep breath. "Well we were friends, and I haven't seen you in a while. Not that I've tried to catch up with you. We really don't even need to be friends or still talk at all. After all, when you ended it, that was it..." What was she on about...?!

"No, no its not like that!" Edward stared at her, "I want us to be friends...forgive me for saying this, and you can hit me after I've said this..but." he stopped, took a deep breath, "I want us to be more than friends, I want us to be together again." he closed his eyes and then opened them again.
"You can hit me, tell me to leave...do what ever you want to me its just..." he shook his head..."I don't know! I just find this all so...CONFUSING!" he shouted the last part and put his face in his hands.

Delaney looked confused as Edward frantically tried to fix what she and he had both said. Combined it basically meant "I don't want to see you anymore, ever." but that wasn't how it was. As he said, leaving her totally shocked, he wanted to get back together. Delaney's head cocked to the side and a quizical look appeared on her face. "What...?" She sputtered out. She was still majorly confused. She couldn't comprehend what he was saying to her. Although she tried. She wanted to just pull his head out of his hands and kiss him. But he was going with that other girl now so she couldn't... She tried to say something. "I- ... What?"
