Avery smiled wider at him, he tended to make her smile. And she didn't know why. All she knew was she liked it, liked the feeling of someone making her smile. No one had made her smile without trying, like Chase was, in a long loooong time. Since Whit. Shame that hadn't worked out. If Chase would have said that, she would never believe him. No way girls wouldn't throw themselves at him, he was MEGA attractive, he had a great smile and he laughed cute. Isn't that, mostly the first, what most shallow high school girls look for? Answer : yes. Maybe he seemed unattainable? She didn't know, nor need to. She smiled at his reassurance, the smile dropping and an eyebrow raising when he said he was the moron. "No way you're a moron. I think you're fantastic. Serious."

Chase smiled at her, his eyes circling around Avery's face. He had a slight feeling that the girl liked him more then just a random stranger. But Chase wasn't exactly the expert on those sort of things.
"Thanks." He said, looking behind him suspisously, as if he suspected some one to jump out from behind him. Chase shook his head and continued to walk aimlessly with his new friend.
"Avery, where are we going?" Chase demanded, laughing after he asked. "I'm not used to all this spontaneous activity." He chuckled, running his fingers through his brunette locks.

Avery got a little confused as Chase just walked there, looking at her. She was begining to like this kid. Which she had a feeling was bad because he was older and everything. She laughed as he turned around. "No, there's no one behind you. I was saying that to you. Yes, for real." She laughed, reading the look on his face like a book. They walked a little more and she could sense Chase getting a little antsy. Oh no, he was getting tired of this. He was going to leave... Well, it seemed too easy to last. "I don't know. Nowhere, as far as I knew. Would you like to go somewhere?" She said, starting out with a bit of attitude in her voice, quickly adjusting to a less harsh tone. He didn't do anything. She turned around just in time to see him ruffling his hair, immeaditly feeling so bad about being mean to such a beautiful creature.
ooc; how are you honey?

"I was just checking." Chase said, without a sign of any emotion in his voice. He watched Avery watch him, which got kind of freaky after awhile. Chase was quite glad when the girl spoke.
"I was just wondering." He told her, in an easy-going voice. It sounded as if she was yelling at him. It wasn't his fault for having such a curious mind. "It's fine walking and all. It's not like I have anything better to do." Chase told her. He thought about returning home, to an empty dorm. It was boring and unbearable. So he was happy to send his time with this little friend of his.
ooc; hi:] im good, you?

Avery smiled a little, hoping he wasn't mad at her for being like that. She slowed up until she was in step with him again. They walked more, aimlessly around and not caring. "..." She started to say something, then stopped. She didn't know what to say. They were now walking really close together, and her hand may have bumped up against his once or twice. A smile spread across her face as she looked sideways at him. "You know, I really like being with you."
ooc; i'm tired and so i'm going to go sleep. sorry, talk to you later<3

After an awkward silence between the two, Avery finally talked. His eyes darted to the left, away from where the girl was standing. No one actually ever told him that before. Well anyone from the female species, besides his mom. He felt his face flush, trying to hide it from Avery.
He ignored her comment and asked, "Are you going to the Valentine's Dance?"

As soon as Avery saw Chase look the other way, she knew. He didn't like her, she was clearly saying that she was starting to and he was looking away. He didn't have to say anything, that was all she needed to know. She decided she would try to shrug off the rejection, her eyes now watching her feet walk as her hands shoved themselves into her pockets, well away from his hands. Just because he didn't like her didn't mean they couldn't be friends, right? She almost didn't want to. Part of her just wanted to run all the way back to her dorm, tangle herself up in a blanket and eat ice cream on her couch while watching her favorite movie. She didn't want to be around him if he didn't like her, she couldn't when he looked like that. Geeze louise! She heard his voice and she decided not to leave. She knew he hadn't said what she though he had but just him being him was enough to keep her there. "Is this your idea of playing a trick on me? Because this isn't funny..." Her voice was quiet, close to shaking. She just kept looking down at her feet, she couldn't look at him.
he's got one hand on the steering wheel, the other on my heart.

A smile appeared on Chase's face. The girl looked like she just saw a ghost. Avery looked afraid, and well, quite vunerable. He never saw he look like this. Maybe that was because they only knew each other's names for the last ten minutes. But boy, was her look cute.
"A trick?" Chase asked, with a surprised look on his face. "You're kidding." He laughed, throwing his head back. "Not at all."
"Um, this may be weird." Chase started to say, "Considering we've only known each other for the last fifteen minutes, but.. Will you go to the Valentine's Dance with me? As friends and everything." He assured her, "Please!" He asked, smiling widely.

Avery shifted her eyes, not letting him see her looking at him as he laughed. She still didn't believe him. She saw him chuckling through her hair, she was still a little upset. But there was no mistaking what he said next, she looked up, midway through his sentance, a goofy, lopsided grin on her face. Her heart beat fast. She believed him now... Then he finished, she felt her heart drop again. She struggled to keep the smile on her face. She so badly wanted to stop him and scream I DON'T WANT TO GO AS FRIENDS. I LIKE YOU! in his face. That would be stupid, she still smiled, although with difficulty, and she shrugged. "Sure, why not." She paused. "What are friends for..." She mumbled almost sadly.
ooc; sorry i keep taking so long XD i'll try to be faster now (:

Chase watched Avery's action. She seemed a little bit sad. "Are you sure you want to go with me?" He asked, while he stopped walking, causing people behind him dogde around the couple. "Because you seemed sad when I asked, and I dont' want to force you into anything you don't want to do." Chase told her, spilling out a ton of words. It had been the most he had said to her all day. Maybe finally he would stop being so shy around her.
ooc; its fine, really :]

Avery shook her head and looked up at him. She was a good liar, this is where it came in handy. "I'm not sad, I want to go. No one's holding a gun to my head, I'm not being forced to do anything. Really." She smiled, hopefully he would believe her load of sh!t. Yeah she wanted to go. But as his DATE not as his friend. But, y'know, friends was better than nothing. Right. Avery wasn't so sure. She liked him, and it was going to be hard to be just friends. He was so cute. And funny. Ughh oh no. Sadly enough, it seemed Avery Grace was falling fast and hard for a boy who just wasn't going to be there to catch her. Well, what goes around comes around.

"If you say so." Chase replied, still watching Avery's movements. He honestly didn't know what was wrong. Had he upset her? Avery swore eveyrthing was fine. But deep down, Chase knew it wasn't.
"Just tell me what's wrong. I know something's up. Don't lie to me." His voice much sterner then earlier. Chase gave Avery a look that pretty much said 'Tell me now, or you'll never see me again, probably'. He crossed his arms, hoping that this would stop Avery's madness. But he doubted it. This girl was pretty stubborn.

Avery heard him, his words basically contradicted the look on is face. His words said 'alright then', but his face said 'concerned, tell me please'. She couldn't not tell him at this point, she was already screwed enough... Why the hell not, right? He spoke again, breaking through the deafening quiet of her mental debate. Oh great, she'd pissed him off from the sound of it. Just what she wanted. Not only was he a cute boy she liked who didn't like her, he was now a cute boy she liked who didn't like her who was royally pissed at her. Just what she wanted. She looked up at him, biting her lip nervously. She looked like she was about to get a shot or something, like she was prepared for something painful. Truth be told, she was. "Well. There is. But... Ikindofcan'ttellyou." She started normal, the ending coming out as one word tripping all over itself. Yeah this was not good. She had the upperhand before, and now he did. She was dreading it. She took her hands out of her pockets, wishing they were accidentally hitting his again, she started to mess with her nails, anything to avoid the aweful truth...

Chase watched Avery look worried as ever. It was kind of cute as she freaked out. And funny. But Chase wasn't about to laugh, because he'd probably make her cry. She looked like she was on the verge of tears anyways.
He took her hand, and held it firmly. "Avery, you can tell me." Chase whispered, as he drew her closer. His eyes were filled with understanding. "C'mon you can do it." He smiled, hoping that she'd tell him what was on her mind.

Avery wanted to tell him, believe it, she did. She couldn't, it would just end badly and she wouldn't be able to talk to him anymore. Not like it would be a massive loss, seeing as she had only known him for all of about a half an hour. But he was one of those people you feel like you've known your whole life. She didn't have that with anyone else, no one else thought she was cooler than she was. Quite the opposite with most people, actually and she hated it. This was different and it was going to be gone all because she couldn't say no to him. Wow, she's weak. No, not weak. Just a sucker for guys who... well, looked like him. She'd never been this soft with anyone else. Ever. But he could go too far too. He grabbed her hand and she was over the edge. She jerked her hand out of his with some force, glaring at him as she crossed her arms tightly across her chest. "DON'T GRAB MY HAND, I LIKE YOU." That made no sense at all. Her voice was kind of a shaky yell, like she wanted to be mad at him but couldn't. She rolled her eyes and sighed angrily.
