Ryuu stopped pacing when he saw Bill, and his stomach dropped, feeling like a total ass. If he’d been in a better mood, he would have laughed at Bill, standing there with his arms crossed like an angry woman. ‘Like Claire’ he thought glumly. His gazed turned to the ground as he dropped his cigarette and stamped it out as carefully as he could achieve. “I know. I’ll admit I was lying. I wasn’t alright, and I’m sorry, does that bother you?” he frowned, “I was just trying to deal with it but…I didn’t do so great a job.” His expression was meek, hoping that Bill would excuse his bizarre behaviour. It wasn’t anything to do with the film…In fact, if only they’d gone to see it yesterday, he would have enjoyed it much more.
Taking a hesitant step towards Bill, he debated trying to just romance him back into a better mood, but quickly decided against it. “I just have a lot on my mind, that’s all. And people getting stabbed and bleeding all over the place doesn’t really settle a guy’s troubled mind,” he grinned sheepishly, running a hand through his hair and rubbing his neck. He couldn’t bare look at Bill anymore, he felt so stupid. He hadn’t slept all night, people getting stabbed were dredging up painful memories and he had to figure out how on earth he was going to explain disappearing for two years with no word of his safety to his family. Fat lot of use he was. “I didn’t think you’d care much for my troubles,” he shrugged, getting out another cigarette. Why should he? Bill was just another person who he’d go out with for about a week, fuck them a few times then never see them again. Right? The thought made his heart ache unhappily. He couldn’t imagine doing that to Bill, and not just because Tom would be on his case if he did.

Bill sighed and closed his eyes. He couldn't stay angry when there was obviously something going on... he'd just be an ass later. Opening his eyes again, he watched the older boy crush his cigarette and shrugged. Ryuu lying didn't bother him, but the fact that he wouldn't talk about whatever it was, did. He smiled lightly but kept his mouth shut. When Ryuu mentioned him not caring about his troubles, however, he frowned. Did he come off as someone who didn't care? He'd always tried to put himself out there as someone who did.
"I care! What would make you think that I don't?" he asked quietly, taking a few steps toward Ryuu, "I might not be good at advice and all that crap, but I'm good at listening.." he trailed off, hoping that he would either tell him what was going on or leave. He wasn't in the mood to play games.

Ryuu flinched, and the cigarette crumpled slightly in his grip when it tightened. “Well…We don’t really know each other that well and well, you didn’t really like me much not too long ago,” he explained pathetically, gazing at him with his brilliant green eyes. Casting his gaze across the pavement in front of the theatre, he spotted a bench and made for it, taking Bill’s elbow gently on the way. Sitting down, he tipped back his head, blowing his smoke to the sky. “My brother’s just turned up in Florida. I don’t know where he is. And he’s been ignorant to my where-abouts for about two years now. The last time he saw me I’d just gotten us - me, him, Kailie and his pregnant girlfriend, Amber - kicked out the house. Kailie punched me, and we fought a bit…then I vanished. He’s furious with me. I’ve done some pretty awful things, but nothing worse than that. I think…” he trailed off, regarding his cigarette carefully, feeling his face flush. He’d never talked to anyone about his past, only a little bit to Tom. However, he’d rehearsed it all in his head, in case one day he decided to change his ways.

Biting his lip, Bill was able to feel himself blush at the truth in Ryuu's words. He mumbled incoherent words and allowed himself to be pulled over to a bench. However, he decided he'd rather not sit so he settled for standing next to the older boy. He listened in silence, his head tipped to the left as Ryuu spoke. When Ryuu trailed off Bill kept quiet, but when he didn't' say anything else, he sighed lightly. He knew he should say something but he wasn't very good at consoling people.
"Hm.. maybe he was worried, or something?" he offered, wondering if maybe he shouldn't have pushed the subject as he had. Standing next to Ryuu, he resisted the urge to hug he older boy, as it was really the only thing he could think to do.

Ryuu laughed harshly. Bill didn’t know what he’d been like as a child, why should he? He couldn’t really blame him for trying to make things sound better, but maybe he should listen? Getting so worked up about it was useless, and telling Bill he used to be in a knife gang and filmed his mates stabbing people to death wasn’t the best idea. Golden rule of dating - never tell your date that you used to be in violent crime. “Well, I doubt that,” he grumbled, drawing on his cigarette carefully, “There are a lot of people back in Dijon who would like to slit my throat. And a couple who’d love to castrate me,” he winced at the thought, Claire’s miserable, pale, frightened face flashed in his mind’s eye. The day he’d found out he’d fucked up their…no…her life. He’d run away and left her with his child. He felt irrepressible guilt well up inside him like blood from a wound, and rested his elbows on his knees, rubbing his temples. “I’m a dead man, Bill. Going home would be suicide, but what can I do? My younger brother’s going to be a dad, I have to support him…But the police are after me and my mates…It’s not worth it. Is it?” he was almost talking to himself, and he dropped his cigarette, not bothering to stamp it out.

Bill glared lightly when Ryuu laughed at him. He'd already told him he was only good at listening, nothing else. Sighing, he sat down next to Ryuu and fidgeted awkwardly; he knew he should have stayed in bed that morning. He heard the older boy mentioning something about people wanting to kill him and he rolled his eyes. There was no way people would be that angry over getting kicked out of a house. He watched as Ryuu rubbed his head and shuffled closer to him, keeping silent.
Ignoring the twisting feeling in his stomach at the mention of Ryuu leaving, Bill narrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "The police wouldn't be after you for getting kicked out of your house," he pointed out, knowing there was more to it; his voice lowering as he continued, "As for the going back thing.. just, don't. Your brother's going to be a dad, yah, but that's his responsibility, not yours."

He smiled faintly when Bill sat down and shuffled close, but didn’t dare touch him. “Oh, not the house thing at all. And I guess Kailie’s not the only father who needs support,” he frowned. He didn’t need support at all, he needed to go do some supporting of his son, “Okay…let me rephrase. Kailie’s child isn’t the only one who needs support,” biting his lip, he sat up again, and tentatively put an arm round Bill. “I’m so sorry. I fucked up today…” he didn’t look at Bill, feeling too sorry for himself. ‘Ryuu James. This has got to stop,’. He winced, the memory of Irja’s piercing, angry-calm voice as he reached the end of his tether over the Crack argument echoed in his mind. That had been a massive … fuck up. At least he’d stopped…eventually. Absent mindedly he began to stroke Bill’s hair, finding a strange kind of comfort there.

Sighing, Bill slumped down on the bench. He was thoroughly confused but decided not to question Ryuu's comment about his brother's child not needing support, or whatever it was he said. He was getting the feeling that it was probably something that he wouldn't like. Not to mention it was none of his business and he'd already done enough prying for the day. Instead, he nodded and leaned into Ryuu as he put his arm around him.
"You didn't fuck up today," he muttered, closing his eyes as Ryuu began stroking his hair, "Everyone has bad days." he sighed again, not at all upset that they weren't inside watching the movie; it had been awful anyway.

I’ve confused you, haven’t I? Um… I’ll rephrase again. I think my child needs more support than Kailie’s, but Kailie is a good excuse to turn up in Dijon after two years,” he said, his voice wavering slightly, feeling uncomfortable with telling Bill about his child. He nodded, grunting his agreement. He was definitely having a bad day…no…life. He’d just had an unusually good patch this last year. “I’ve been having an unusually good year. I knew it’d end soon,” he frowned, then instantly wished he could take it back, having failed to remember that Bill had turned up. That certainly wasn’t a bad thing. “Bill…Do…Would you consider this…a … err…date?” he asked, his side felt electrified where Bill was leaning into him, and felt his pulse heightening.

Bill sat completely still, as though he was frozen. Ryuu has a kid? This could not possibly get any more.. anything!, he thought, closing his eyes again. Upon hearing the next comment, he frowned and pulled out of Ryuu's grasp. One part of him was telling him to get up and leave; Ryuu was not someone to get any more involved with than he already was. Another part, however, was telling him to ignore it. Clenching his jaw, he stared silently at the older boy.
"You.. have a.... kid?" he asked, shocked, "As in like.. a living, breathing, you-had-sex-and-got-a-girl-pregnant-who-then-gave-birth-to-a-baby.. kid?" Sighing, he sat back where he'd previously been and leaned against Ryuu again. He felt slightly bad about his rambling.
Biting his lip, he closed his eyes and rested his head against Ryuu's shoulder as he thought. Was this a date? It seemed, to him, like it was. However, he couldn't help but think that if it was a date, it was very unconventional. "No.." he shrugged, "maybe. I don't know."

Ryuu raised an eyebrow. “No. The kind that you buy at the supermarket,” he said, his voice sharp with cynicism. He clenched his jaw, wishing he could just go right back to the beginning of their ‘date’ and start over. Make it more date like and less ‘I’m a sulky emo kid, feel sorry for me’. “Anyway. Enough about me…” he smirked, and turned, taking Bill’s chin gently in with his thumb and forefinger. He gazed into his eyes for a long time, his eyes deep and thoughtful, maybe a hint of lust was buried deep in there, but Ryuu’s thoughts of lust had been buried ever since he first kissed Bill. He moved forwards slowly, kissing him gently, and wrapping his free arm round his waist, pulling him closer. Ryuu wished he could pick him up and put him in his lap, remembering the time in his dorm, when Bill had literally crawled into his lap and kissed him desperately. Had that been lust? Desperation to release a little sexual tension? Ryuu couldn’t be sure, but he knew one thing. He was totally and utterly in love with Bill.

Turning to look at Ryuu, Bill frowned before glancing at the ground. "Sorry," he muttered, "I was.. surprised. Still kinda am."
Feeling Ryuu's hands on his face, his frown instantly turned into a smile. He stared up at the older boy, his smile growing as moved forward, kissing him. He shifted lightly when he felt Ryuu's arm around his waist and brought a hand up, placing it on the back of his neck in an attempt to deepen the kiss. After a minute he pulled away and tried to shuffle closer to Ryuu before realizing he was as close as he could get. He quickly leaned forward and pressed his lips to Ryuu's again, not caring that they were on a public bench where anyone could, and probably would, see them.

Ryuu, glad that Bill hadn’t turned him down, deepened his kiss eagerly. He touched his hand to Bill’s thigh, then slid it towards the back of his knee, pulling it up gently so that it was against his own thigh and he leant forwards, his free hand moving down from his face and across his chest to rest on his waist. “You’re…okay…with this? I … thought … you…are … too good … for … me,” he panted between kissing him, his eyes sparkled mischievously.

Bill whimpered slightly at the feeling of a hand on his thigh. He quickly moved so he was sitting in Ryuu's lap, ignoring the fact that it was slightly awkward. Grabbing Ryuu's face between his hands, he kissed him back, almost desperately. As he heard Ryuu speak, he pulled his face away and smirked. "How many times do I have to say it. I am too good for you," he laughed and pressed a quick kiss to Ryuu's lips, "And what do you mean, 'You’re okay with this?' I'm okay with what, making out?"

Ryuu grinned satisfactorily when Bill whimpered, and moved to kiss his smooth jaw. “I just need reassuring,” he whispered, breathing heavily. Bill’s way of kissing was enthralling, the way he pulled you in so desperately. Ryuu could just sit back and let him do all the work all night, but he didn’t. His self control was too weak for that. “I mean…I dunno…Are you okay making out with me,” he frowned. Ryuu had always thought Bill had a bit more common sense than to get involved with him. The smoker, the binge drinker, the whore. He didn’t feel good enough to go out with anyone, let alone Bill, who was his opposite in nearly every way.
